• The staff was friendly and the location was good.
• The rooms are showing their age and it was noisy.

“Good location close to Boston Commons and the Theater district. Building is old (1920's) and the rooms are small and are paper thin. Overall, was decent for the price if you aren't spending time in the room or trying to relax.”

• It was very convenient to theaters.
• The ventilation was very poor. No fan in bathroom. Towels used only after shower steamed up windows within 2 hours, just by being in the room.

“I question the "healthiness" of staying here. The ventilation was very poor. I think there may be mold in the building. All day at the seminar my eyes watered, itched and had swelling/hives. I would go for a walk outdoors and be fine, until I entered the building again. This went on for 2 1/2 days. It was, however, in a very convenient location and could walk right out the door to Wang theater.”

• Very friendly in fixing our room selection.
• The small room we got on the 6th floor.

“First room we got on the 6th floor was terrible. It was so small, the TV wouldn't even fit on the wall in front of the bed, it was over in the corner. The bathroom didn't even have a bathtub, it was a stand up shower. Luckily, at the front desk moved us to a different room that was much better!”

• The staff was very helpful and accommodating. More so than what I had experienced at other hotels.
• I was mistakenly charged for dry cleaning and valet parking that was incurred by the previous guest. However, the staff promptly reversed the charge.

“Great location, helpful and friendly staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. I'd definitely go back.”

• When I first walked in I'm a young adult and I felt the front desk staff was rude, as if I couldn't afford to stay there so what did I want.

“Unfortunatly at the night I stayed at this hotel there was a shooting right at the club across the street, which happened 1/2 hour before I was heading back to the hotel.”

• Very convenient to Theater District and Downtown and reasonable price.
• It was a little noisy in the evenings.

“Our room was very comfortable, the internet access was dependable and free (which helped as we looked for theater tickets and restaurants) The price was very reasonable for Downtown Boston and staff were friendly and helpful.”

“The accommodations were very good, and the location was fantastic. It was in Bostons theater district: right near the Boston Commons and subway stops. A very good spot for a weekend getaway or business.”

“No individual climate controls in rooms (very disappointed). They gave us a fan because our room was hot. Room was very small and cramped as was the bathroom. Hotel was old but seemed reasonably well maintained.”

• Good location. Breakfast buffet was pretty good.
• Room size was small compared to other hotels we have gotten.

“The hotel was a reasonable distance from the "t" which is paramount for us. The housekeepers were pleasant, rooms were small but clean. Bathroom facilities were great. Was a bit noisy Saturday night due to a band playing somewhere? Mind you I liked the music, I just needed the rest.”

• The staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice, the free coffee in the lobby was nice. The beds and pillows were super comfortable.
• We kept hearing that the area that the hotel was in was very sketchy at night and not to go out. The bathroom door in the room was terrible to close.

“The staff was the highlight of the stay. Very friendly and helpful. From the front desk, door man, security, waits help and maids. The rooms were on the small side and there was only a very small closest so our suitcases took up a lot of space in the room. The door to the bathroom was terrible because were could barely slide it closed the beds and flat screen TV were nice the business center was very convenient so was the larger TV to watch the red sox play. It would be nice if they had a couple more computers to use since they were always busy. Plus coffee or drinks would be a nice touch in there.”

“This was a last minute choice for red sox playoffs. I would not stay here again if I had the choice. Heat and a/c was dependant on the weather. It was very cold and the only thing available was ac. Half the size of a traditional hotel room. Front desk staff not very friendly. Good security, as you have to use key card to use elevators. Security guard very friendly. No restaurant for room service. Well priced valet parking.”

• Business center out of order.

“Hotel was clean, attractive and the rooms, though small are nicely decorated. There were television problems in the first room, so I was moved promptly. Breakfast was adequate but expensive. I found the service personalized and pleasant, and staff was anxious to amend any problems. Location is convenient. I would stay here again.”

• Staff: ease of check-in and check-out.
• On the sixth floor, our room transmitted pounding music from one of the hotel's clubs until 2:00 a.m.

“Other than the music from the club pounding through the walls and floor late at night, the experience was very positive. The staff told us that the lower floors (6-7?) on the lower range of rooms (through the teens-616 was our room) could expect to hear the music. Request a room on the upper floors or on the other side of the hotel and your experience should be quite positive.”

• Valet and bell staffs were the best, so helpful and friendly.
• Toilet paper holder was falling off wall, no dresser had to keep clothes in suitcases.

“Hotel was a great location, just a couple of blocks from the Commons and T station. Sidewalks around hotel were kept clean and front door always staffed. We asked for directions a couple of times and staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. Our room was clean everyday. When we asked for extra towels we had them in minutes.”

“I was greeted by a frowning clerk who was more interested in the time of day (if I was too early or not) then to even say a friendly "welcome," of which I never received. She checked me in yet still had the same bad attitude and made me feel very unwelcome. We found our room very small with an even smaller window with no view. It mostly felt like we were in a closet then a motel room. At least there was plenty of coffee and the elevator was fast service. Only they seem to not air condition the hallway, making coming and going a sweaty journey. Outside is very scary and looks like the whole block is shut down to any business. A 7-11 is close by and China town is not far off. But if you are looking for a place to stay, try the Copley Square Hotel. We stayed there 4 nights before this one and found our bathroom was bigger the entire room at the Tremont Hotel. So much of a nicer staff as well as an upscale neighborhood.”

• Okay location. Clean. Need room key to get to each floor and into hotel.
• Two clubs on either side. Not a place to bring kids.

“Nice, clean rooms. Cost us almost $60 to park but that's Boston for you. The hotel bar is very expensive and there are two night clubs that get a lot of attention at night. A fight broke out right outside which doesn't give you a safe feeling that's for sure. Staff was very helpful and seems friendly. This hotel met our expectation but nothing else.”

• Room size and location were good.
• Night clubs were located below. Music loud late into the night.

“Hotel is slightly older. Rooms were good size and beds were comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location just outside what I would consider a safer area. Main drawback is the nightclubs below and nearby. Pounding loud base music late into the night made getting to sleep difficult.”

“Although this location was good to see the sites of Boston, the rooms were small and they failed to clean the room during our 2 night stay. Being downtown, we were surprised at 2 am by the revelry in the streets after the bars closed (not a fault of the hotel, but they could have warned us).”

“Positives: Many restaurants, theaters, & other amenities all around this hotel. Friendly staff at front desk. AC definitely worked! Not-so-Positives: Very small room; room door a bit swollen, requiring a little extra force to open & close; no parking room, valet or garage parking required; could not provide type of bed configuration requested. This hotel just did not seem to meet the standards of other hotels I have stayed at the same star ranking.”

• The huge queen size bed.
• The size of the room was very small.

“Hotel was great. Great location, right in the theatre district and a great club downstairs that was packed on the Friday night that we stayed. Great hotel for people looking for a good time. The room size was small, but I was traveling with more than two people in the room, so it was a bit squished, but we managed and had a great time! Friendly staff.”

• The Boston Tremont Courtyard Marriott embodies the Marriott trademark for their world-renowned attention to detail and excellent customer relations.
• The shape of the hotel room was an odd, parallelogram-like shape.

“Cleanliness and class is what you can expect when visiting a Marriott hotel and this Courtyard will fall nothing short of your expectations. Excellent location near everything, including the subway which is just a half-block away incase you want to take advantage of a remote tourist attraction (subway is clean and employees are always courteous and ready to help you get to where you want to go!).”

• Room was smaller than expected, barely room to walk between bed and wall.

“Good hotel, location is good, centrally located. The area at night is not family friendly. There are a couple of night clubs close by and a lot of people out on the street. The staff does a great job of keeping that out of the hotel though.”

• Beautiful lobby, spacious clean room and bathroom.
• Didn't like that the only thing for breakfast was overpriced buffet.

“The hotel was much nicer than I expected. It was convenient to Boston commons and the green and red t lines, and we felt comfortable walking back to the hotel from the t after dark. The room was definitely large enough for two adults, an 11 year old and a baby in a pack 'n play, which was something I was concerned about. The only problem I had with the hotel was that the only option for breakfast was an overpriced buffet, so we had to go elsewhere.”

• Near a lot of attractions but not the best neighborhood.
• Very Small Rooms, no pool.

“The room was very small. Would have preferred two beds but they only had a king available. We had to use the desk as a place to store our luggage since there wasn't much floor space at all. For how much I paid for the room, I was a bit disappointed. Yes, its downtown Boston, but I've stayed in nearby hotels that were much better.”

• The lobby was beautiful.
• Neighborhood not too safe to walk around.

“Enjoyed Boston, but had to take taxis everywhere to get to sightseeing areas. Traveled with Sr. Citizen from the attractions. The only amenities were a hair dryer and a small coffee maker and iron. Could not go outside the hotel delivery area and deserted feeling in the evening. Hotel was pretty, clean and staff was very nice. Location was the issue in my mind.”

• Room and bathroom size - poor value for price charged.

“Hotel conveniently located staff friendly and helpful. Room was terribly small, bathroom size of a closet with no tub, no heat in room - needed a space heater, closet was a free standing closet that took up 1/2 the open space in the room. This all would have been okay if the room had been priced accordingly but they charged 1st class prices for 4th class accommodations - very disappointed. Would not stay at this hotel again - there are other better choices in the same neighborhood.”
