“Great location, clean, large room with frig & microwave. Staff was friendly, efficient and helpful.” Jan 5, 2008 by
Toni from Davie, FL
“Great location for the theatre district was able to get to every theatre, restaurant, near Times Square and Rockefeller center. The microwave, fridge and coffee pot really helped.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 4, 2008 by
Pamela from Belchertown, MA
“The only problem we had during our stay was when we asked the concierge where the restaurant was that was listed on the hotel's homepage; we were directed to walk around the block. When leaving the restaurant we discovered that it was actually accessible through the hotel lobby. Oh, and the elevator's were extremely slow and small. They were supposed to have Valet parking but it was not running on New Year's Eve. There was a parking lot about a block up though. Over-all great experience, a quick walk to Time's Square.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 2, 2008 by

“The hotel was okay, but we were put on a floor in which the floor was being remodeled. It looked like a bomb erupted on that floor. It looked dirty and dangerous. Other people on the elevator said the same thing about the floor. We were on the 4th floor.” Jan 1, 2008 by
Dominie from Aliso Viejo, CA
“This hotel is conveniently located to all of the theaters, and a short walk to Times Square. It is a very attractive hotel with a very friendly staff.” Dec 30, 2007 by
Jon from Knoxville, TN
“Overall, the hotel was a great value for Downtown Manhattan. It was an older hotel, but it was clean and met my needs with little to complain about.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 19, 2007 by
Barbara from Newtown Square, PA
“The belvedere is a large hotel well situated for those who wish to go to the theater. And I loved the nearby bistro called "Pigalle". However, I paid more for this hotel than any I have ever stayed in NY. And that includes Sheratons, Hiltons, hats and the un plaza. The belvedere hotel was not nearly as nice as any of the other others. Acoustics were bad, pipes made noise all night and could not regulate the heat from the room.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 19, 2007 by
John from Manchester, TN
“Spacious by any location's standards, this hotel room was incredible for New York and the Times Square area. Upscale and extremely clean throughout. The staff was amazing, professional, courteous, friendly, and helpful.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 14, 2007 by
Rachel from Plano, TX
“The hotel staff was great and very accommodating to all requests. The room was beautiful and the view was breathtaking. The space was limited, but was not a problem. The room was designed and decorated in a very warm, upscale style. The location was top notch. A quick walk to dining, theatre shopping, trains. Anything you would want.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 12, 2007 by

“This is our second visit to the Belvedere. I feel at home there.” Dec 10, 2007 by
Julia from Durham, NC
“This was an unexpected surprise! The location was perfect (close to times square, Broadway, Rockefeller center, etc), lots of dining options nearby, clean, quiet (on higher floor off street), comfy bed and comforters, good efficiency kitchen, great/helpful staff (kept our bags safe while we roamed after checkout). Will definitely return!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 22, 2007 by

“The belvedere was clean, in a great area and enjoyable. I would stay there again and would recommend it to my friends and family. I would suggest eating elsewhere besides the restaurant/cafe inside the hotel.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Nov 21, 2007 by

“A good Albeit Basic Hotel. Nice staff, nice room, great location just off the hustle and bustle of Times Square. It lacks a restaurant or a bar, but there are plenty within a block from the front door.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Nov 21, 2007 by
Patricia from Philadelphia, PA
“This is a very clean hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. The only problem may be that sounds from the hall or other areas of the hotel are amplified in your room. You may also experience smells of food cooking as if it were in your room.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 18, 2007 by

“Nice hotel, friendly staff, easy checks-in/checks-out.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 12, 2007 by

“Other than the bed sheet issue, it was a perfect stay.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 12, 2007 by

“I loved having a little kitchenette in the morning. Having a refrigerator is also a big plus for beverages and leftover takeout. I would definitely return to the Belvedere!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 10, 2007 by
Sharon from Willow Street, PR
“Upon arrival, the exterior even caught our eyes; it was old but well kept a very eclectic setting. The lobby had great chairs, the old time mail shoot, it was great. The room was spacious; it reminded me of my first studio apartment, with the smaller kitchen area.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Nov 5, 2007 by

“Met my expectations and would stay again. Nice size rooms.” Oct 31, 2007 by
Margaret from Rexdale, ON CA
“We found the room very pretty & comfortable, though a bit small, grouting in the bathrooms in most hotels for some reason always needs updating. This one was no different but was very clean. We would not hesitate to recommend it. Unfortunately older people from New York city have a very dim view of this hotel, they really believe it to be a dump, so will take time for them to be highly recommended by the people we met, there minds were changed when we insisted they see the room, but don't be in to much of a hurry to raise prices or star 31/2 is fine for now, until the reputation meets the standards they deserve. We have stayed in hotels with rating's higher than there's but were not near as nice. Only negative they started hammering at 9am, we had a late night so did not enjoy the awakening of banging. Even though we knew it was being renovated, we didn't expect it to be over our room.” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.Oct 31, 2007 by

“Quaint, with excellent location.” Oct 25, 2007 by
Mary from Crowley, TX
“It is a lovely building, at a great location just off time square. The staff is eager to give directions and help.” Oct 24, 2007 by
Doris from Belmont, MA
“The belvedere hotel was a great place to stay for the price that I paid. The location was very convenient to times square and the theatre district. The staff was extremely helpful. I didn't like the fact that checks in wasn't until 4pm but they will hold your luggage for you if you get there early and would like to go do some sightseeing. As for the room, they are perfectly fine. The only problem was that we received two double beds instead of just a single queen. I'm sure if you called them earlier after you have reserved your hotel that they would probably fulfill your request. We also had a handicapped room, which was a little disappointing because we wanted to soak in a tub.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Oct 16, 2007 by
Aaron from Visalia, CA
“The room wasn't very clean. It was difficult to reach hotel personnel on the phone. There was a lot of construction noise inside the hotel.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 13, 2007 by
Bob from Concord, GA
“Very, very convenient to theatres and times square. Several restaurants within 8 minute walk. Very courteous hotel staff. Bathroom was smallish, but rest of room was good, especially compared to some of the sardine cans in NYC. Small fridge, microwave and coffee maker, and iron in room. Beds and pillows and linens were comfortable. I would stay again without hesitation.” Oct 9, 2007 by
Joel from Henderson, NV
“Overall we were very happy with the location and the price. We would stay there again. Elevator very small and very slow.” Oct 8, 2007 by
Van from Inver Grove Heights, MN
“A nice hotel on the edge of the theater district. The Brazilian restaurant was ok but too pricey. Maria's European Restaurant, next door to the hotel, offered a better buy. Try the seafood fondue - and their tiramisu was almost as good as the best we had in Rome.” Oct 8, 2007 by
Jane from Waynesville, NC
“Would highly recommend, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.” Oct 6, 2007 by
Sardek from Herndon, VA
“Nice lobby and decor. Great location in Manhattan. A bit pricey and the additional costs for parking and internet access really makes this an expensive place to stay.” Oct 3, 2007 by
Jen from Stow, MA
“I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was overpriced and did not come close to its star rating. The staff was not friendly. The room was ugly with peeling wallpaper, dirty bedspread and no artwork. The bathroom was barely big enough to turn around the smallest Ive ever seen in a hotel. The TV was tiny and offered very few channels. There is no room service and the above mentioned restaurant closes early. Also, the elevators are so small that you can count on being sandwiched with at least ten other people after waiting 5 minutes for one to arrive. To top it off, the cleaning people came in our room without knocking at 9 am. Afterwards, they were very loud out in the hallway so we couldn't sleep in. Overall, a horrible experience.” Sep 30, 2007 by
Jenny from Whittier, CA
“For all of you who are looking and looking for a decent and cheap nick hotel, then give up now, they don't exist, at least, not In Manhattan. The location Is just awesome; very close to times square and all the touristy things you want to do, and yet In a little street that Is not literally In the middle of a main road. Despite this though, you do hear honks and car noises throughout the night, and the walls are very thin - we could hear our next door neighbor snoring very clearly. In general though, the location made It totally worthwhile, and you just have to realize that nick Is not like any other city, especially when It comes to space and accommodation.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 29, 2007 by

“The hotel was very good and fully met my expectations. The room was clean. The hotel is very well located: just 3-5 minutes walk from Broadway and times square. The only unpleasant thing was that we were refused with late check-out (we requested to check out at 12:30 while the general check-out time was 12:00).” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 27, 2007 by

“I would never ever stay in this hotel again, even if I received a free night. I have stayed at the Roosevelt hotel before and that hotel is definitely much better. Clean and very courteous staff.” Sep 24, 2007 by
Melissa from Logan, UT
“Was very pleased with my stay at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and always willing to help with questions about attractions. Always greeted hotel guests. Clean, cozy rooms with little kitchen in (nice added bonus). Elevators were a little small but what do you expect with New York.” Sep 16, 2007 by
Ken from Ben Lomond, CA
“Four star lobby and two star rooms.” Sep 14, 2007 by
Garth from Seattle, WA

“Absolutely great location for theater district. Outstanding Location.” Jul 31, 2007 by
Eddie from Riverside, MO
“This hotel is a perfect fit for the visitor who wants to be in the middle of what NYC has to offer. Just enough off the main strip so you don't feel overwhelmed, but close enough to shopping, restaurants, transportation and attractions. Quaint best describes the setting of the belvedere. Very relaxing and comfortable accommodations.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 30, 2007 by
Mike from Greenville, NC
“The hotel was in an excellent location. The area was safe. The hotel staff was super friendly. I will stay at the Belvedere each time I travel to New York. You can't beat the price for the location to all the attractions!” Jul 25, 2007 by
Dennis from Somers, CT
“Excellent value. First class service and comfort. Good sized room. Courteous clientele. I didn't have any meals there, save the money and walk around the corner for endless choices. This was my third visit to the Belvedere and I plan to return next year. Location couldn't be better, a short walk to all the major Brdw'y theaters, restaurants and clubs. Thanks for a great stay!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 24, 2007 by

“Pleasantly surprised! Desk staff very professional, no complaints with the cleanliness and was convenient with short walk to all the venues of midtown Manhattan. Can't wait to go back!” Jun 29, 2007 by
Wasfi from Troy, MI
“In general, it was a good experience and would love to go back to the same hotel next visit to NYC.” Jun 18, 2007 by
Becca from Findlay, OH
“This hotel is an excellent location if you plan on seeing Broadway shows or being close to time square. The staff was helpful and friendly. No problems at all.” May 27, 2007 by
Carey from Ft. Wayne, IN
“The location of the hotel was good, not far off the beaten path. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. They kept our bags for the day. The hotel is older and could have used a spruce up, but was clean. We enjoyed our stay.” Mar 28, 2007 by
Rick from Charlotte, NC
“The best thing about the hotel is the location; it's convenient to most of the main attractions near time square. On the downside, the hotel appears to be an old renovated apartment building. Some of the rooms are smaller than others and the beds are not very comfortable. The rooms were very hot and the window ac units do not work very well. The hotel lacks most amenities that other hotels offer (e.g. Pool, spa, exercise room, etc). This hotel would work if there are no other hotels available; however, I do not recommend this hotel for group travel. I guess this would be considered a "good deal" for New York city. I have had much better experiences.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 18, 2007 by

“We loved this hotel and had a great experience. My family would definitely stay here again.” Dec 20, 2006 by

“We arrived in NY at the hotel the early evening. We had been up all night and day traveling. I was traveling with three other adult and three young children. The manager on duty would not let us in the room. She insisted that the credit card that was used to pay the bill must be presented and the person to whom the card belonged. The manager said she had to follow this policy for security reasons. The credit card used was my mom's maybe Burk halter. All of the adults traveling have the same last name Burk halter, we all had ids and presented them. She still would not let us in our rooms saying we could be committing credit card fraud. It does not say you have to have the original card and/or the owner of that card. I am a professional and travel frequently under my company credit card. I have never been asked to present the original credit card especially when the bill has already been paid as long as I had identification. The rest of the staff at the belvedere was nice. The manager did give my sister an extra room for two nights at a lower rate for both nights which was appreciated. I understand about security but if this is the belvedere policy then they should let you all know this. So this experience started our trip on a sour note. The hotel was in a good location and clean but old and drab, uncomfortable beds. I have stayed in cheaper hotels like the courtyard Marriott that have great beds. I know this was NY and things” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Dec 6, 2006 by
