• Tidy, spacious, fresh and friendly
• The Active Hotels website specified a fully equiped gym. The only had two running machines and a bike. No upper body equipment. Disappointing Gym.

“Excellent quality hotel. Very spacious, fresh looking with friendly hotel staff. Ideal location for both business and pleasure.
Active Hotels web site misleading regarding the Gym, should be corrected or hotel improve on the Gym facilities.”

• Surprised there was no draught beer in the bar and the closing time being too early.

• The location, very clean, quiet at night.
• very basic rooms for price, poor bar staff not friendly or welcoming.

“The overall stay in the hotel Arora was adequate, the location close to shopping centers and bars was excellent. The hotel itself was superbly maintained and very clean. The reception staff were very helpful and welcoming although the bar staff were quite the opposite making us feel unwelcome and the need to leave after one drink. The rooms were basic for the price but were very clean, full credit must go to the cleaning staff who were very friendly.”

“I would definitely reccommend the Arora International to anyone wishing to stay in Manchester. The hotel is in a central location; perfect for those wishing to explore the city with a main train station nearby. The reception area was modern looking and impressive, and staffed by friendly and helpful employees. The room itself was fantastic; clean, and tastefully decorated with a modern but welcoming feel.Every facility had been thought of (iron, safe etc)and the bathroom looked straight out of a showroom.The hotel was also incredibly cheap ('79 per room, per night) which allowed us to stay in a 4* hotel for a 2* price.”

• Rooms spacious and clean. Staff very helpful, requests for extra pillows, towels sorted within minutes.
• Noisy air conditioning system. Very hot in bedrooms

“Centrally located hotel,right next to Chinatown and a couple of minutes walk from shopping centre.
Double / Double room very spacious with small sitting area. Very comfortable beds and pillows.
Staff very helpful. Children in our party made to feel welcome.
Excellent cocktails in the bar although quite expensive!Non alcoholic cocktails made for the children.
Noisy air con, was switched off on request however noise remained, this is the only fault.
On check out we were asked to pay a '42 bar bill which was not ours! However this was dealt with quickly.”

• As this isa very new hotel, everything about it was excellent

“This hotel was excellent and great value for money. Being situated right in Chinatown, it is handy for restaurants, night life, shopping, the lot! We really enjoyed ourselves and would certainly use this hotel again.

“My overall stay at the hotel was excellent, the room was lovely and clean and very modern. The staff were friendly although we didn't have much call to use them. The only fall down was that the shower head wouldn't stay up whilst in use. Also would have been useful to have information in the room as to check out times and times for meals etc, all we had was a menu. I really enjoyed the stay and it was the comfiest nights sleep i've had in a while - the beds were fantastic!!”

• It was very comfortable and relaxing with excellent bathroom facilities.

“We only stayed overnight and therefore did not have the time to use the gym or restaurant. We were not informed, however, when booking in where these were located in the hotel. It would have been good to have in the room details of where to find these facilities and the prices of using them. We were also not informed of the times for breakfast. Other than these few points, we had an excellent stay and will definately recommend this hotel to friends and family.”

• There was no information in the room re: local activities, places of interest etc. or about the hotel itself.

• Slow service at breakfast on Sunday morning.

“The rooms were clean and well furnished with good attention to detail. Good sized bathroom, although bath was a bit short. Bed was ample and comfortable and room was warm. Hotel itself well provided with small lounges and the decoration was airy and pleasing. Food at breakfast was good, despite slow service, but we didn't have dinner. The bar was well stocked and the staff were efficient and friendly.”

• The accommodation is close to businesses and amenities that I had to visit
• There are no car park facilities

“My overall impression is, the hotel is a friendly, comfortable place to stay but after a long drive I would prefer the hotel to have a car park. Having to walk for 5 minutes from the NCP in the rain is not a pleasant experience.”

“I would definitely stay in this hotel again. The staff were very friendly and courteous. I only had to ask for anything I needed and it was done almost straight away. Next time I will use the gym and have a meal in the hotel restaurant.”

“I totally recommend this hotel. It is actually advertised as a 3 star hotel, but is the quality of a 5-star (Not to mention the prices of a 3-star). Large very comfortbale rooms. Everything is new. Excellent staff. Overall, one of the best value hotels I have ever stayed in.”

“Very impressed with this hotel, especially at the discount prices on this site. Was very stylish and beautifully clean throughout and the staff were courteous and friendly without being too formal. The room and its facilities were first rate, although the shower was a bit complex! Overall, a first rate hotel - I hope they continue as they've started.”

• excellent room, excellent breakfast, nice freindly staff, no problem getting back in very late at night as there is 24 hr desk
• no parking provided although the recomended parking was secure was only round the corner and only cost '13.50 for the stay

“Booked this hotel as it seemed to be in the centre it was :- everything from shops to restaurents and bars all within walking distance.
Rooms bright and airy the overall impression of this hotel was excellent the exterior seems quite old yet interior is modern and minimal in the hotel foyer for example the seating was those cool weird shaped chairs not stuffy looking armchairs.
Listening to the television through the bathroom speakers was a cool idea too and the family double double room we had even had kids choice on TV- although we didnt need it.

Overall an excelent choice and would return”

• Spacious room and bathroom, excellent beds, clean and nice decor, good in-room facilities.
• No bad points about the hotel room whatsoever. Parking could be a problem.

“The room was fantastic! Clean, modern, and spacious with sitting area and vanity/desk area. Storage space for hanging clothes is a little small if you are sharing the room and are staying several days, but it's no real problem. A good sized bathroom with granite top sink, large white bath and a great shower, with plenty of space for toiletries, and heated towel rail. It has the bonus of very useful in-room facilities such as refrigerator, safe, controllable air-conditioning, iron, and a good powerful hairdryer - which, as us ladies know, is a rare find in a hotel room! The beds and pillows were the best I have ever slept on - the hotel's claim that they are is true! There was no fault with the room at all. And by booking online through activehotels.com I received a great discount!
The only slight disappointment was with the hotel facilities, and not the room. Usually in a hotel their bar stays open for patrons so you can have a nice relaxing drink, until the early hours if you like. But because the bar/restaurant in the lower ground floor of the hotel was independently owned, it kept normal bar hours so you didn't have that extra bonus you usually get by being a hotel guest. The restaurant menu was also very limited, but with the hotel situated in the chinatown district there was a wealth of restaurants to choose from nearby. Parking can prove a problem with either on-street parking if you're lucky enough to find a space, or an underground car-park nearby which was very expensive. Luckily we found spaces outside the hotel most days with only a small charge for parking - 80p from 6.30pm - 8.30am.
These negative points are very minor compared to the standard of the accommodation and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Manchester. I can't wait to go back there myself!”

• Immaculate hotel, great rooms, great staff. Purely pleasurable experience.
• None.

“The hotel only opened in June 2004 and this shows. Reception is an airy atrium and it is well designed and lit. The rooms had two queen size beds which were extremely comfortable and overall the rooms were excellently presented. I doubt we could have got the same value for money anywhere else in Manchester.”

“The hotel was central, the decor was excellent, it was very clean, the staff were efficient and friendly. The room was great, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom lovely, and the shower was fantastic. In summary I have nothing derogatory to say and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and it was excellent value for money.”
