  • Location was great, Room was nice and large, comfortable bed and very friendly staff.
  • The Executive center had no windows and the snacks were not that great.

“The Marriott Park Lane is in an excellent location and very close to the famous Oxford Street. Our room overlooked Hyde Park and the Marble Arch. We have a large room with a King size bed. The bathroom was nice with a lot of space to put your toiletries. The staff was very friendly and nice.”

  • Wonderful location.
  • Very disorganized at the front desk.

“This is a wonderful hotel in an excellent location for exploring London. The room, bedding and toiletries were superior. The pool was very relaxing and the staff was friendly. I don't know if the hotel was understaffed but there were several problems with the front desk. The internet was down and this caused problems for confirmation of flights etc. We ordered wakeup service and this happened later than ordered. To make up for this we were sent a basket of Danishes and juice. We really loved this hotel and would love to stay there again.”

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[8] • Location:[10]

  • The hotel was nice, but it is not a 5 star hotel from London standards compared, for example, to the Co naught or Claridges.
  • I have bad knees and I did not like the fact that I had to climb/descend steps every time I entered or exited the hotel lobby.

“This is a nice, comfortable hotel with an excellent location and a friendly (if a bit inept) staff (for example, we were given incorrect information to something as simple as the location of the closest bank). However, the hotel is by no means a five star hotel. For instance, there is no close comparison in the level of service, comfort and "professionalism" in this hotel as compared to a real five star London hotel like Claridges, the Co naught, Blakes, etc. I think the hotel is a nice four star facility.”

“If you are just passing through London and need a decent place to stay and not concerned about budget, this hotel is ok. Amenities do not coincide with the price per night. Staff not very helpful. Would not stay here again, or recommend.”

  • Clean--clean- nice staff good location not crazy -- Le Meridien Piccadilly was in my opinion a two star hotel.
  • The staff was lovely and the rooms were very clean.

“Wonderful - we stayed in three room - two adults in each room- the accommodation were great- the staff was very helpful and we ate a cute little diner 1/2 away every morning -- great lattes- all in all I thought it was a major value for London. The cab drivers in London are awesome. Cheers Staci Campbell.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • This is not a five-star hotel; very nice, but not a 5 star.

“Well-appointed and adequately sized rooms; furniture appeared new and room was very clean. Small but attractive lobby and check-in area. Very conveniently located just feet from Marble Arch tube station and Oxford Road shopping. Staff was pleasant and helpful. I appreciated small touches like fresh flowers and burning candles in the lobby area. No in-room WIFI and I could not connect through the room's Ethernet cable. WIFI in the lobby cost #15 ($30) per day, which is excessive. Few non-hotel restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[9] • Location:[8]

  • Friendly reception, accommodating staff and a fair price.
  • Charging for in room internet, very expensive. This should be free with all five star hotels.

“Nice quiet room, and fairly convenient, but not as much as you'd think considering it's on the corner of oxford St and park lane. Real entrance is not on park lane but a street around the corner, taxis don't know it as much as you expect. Nice staff, horribly expensive breakfasts but that's London for you 20 pounds for the full English breakfast too much even as a pound charge to someone earning and spending in pounds.”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[5] • Location:[10]

  • Location, location, location. Room sizes decent for London.
  • The outrageous charges for internet and phone services. Room furniture damaged. Not very luxurious.

“The location served our travel purposes very well. It is an expensive hotel but not luxurious or extra fancy in anyway. The pool/gym area was very nice. The lobby was fine and the restaurant/bar was nice. Excellent bartenders. The room sizes were typical for a Marriott and probably considered large by London standards. However, there was furniture damage in the room we were in. The veneer on the TV stand and armoire was peeled off in spots. Two chairs were broken. The TV was old. I've had flat screen TVs even at 3 star hotels. The cost for internet services were outrageous as well as the phone service prices. I don't understand why expensive hotels charge for internet services at all much less $30.00 per day. The staff was professional but not overly friendly. The beds and pillows were decent. Location was the best thing about the hotel.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • Great, helpful staff. Courteous and knowledgeable.
  • This is not a 5-star hotel, but it is quite nice.

“The rooms are larger than average for London, and cleaner and far more inviting than average. The staff is fantastic - better than any American hotel. No views at all from my room - the hotel was advertised as a 5-Star, but it is not. I would rate it at 4 stars. The restaurant & room service are extremely overpriced, even for London. But it is very close to underground & bus lines, you can get to business appointments or shopping in minutes, and Hyde Park is right across the street.”

“The Marriott park lane is a well located five star hotel near Londons marble arch; it is convenient to bus and tube stations. The hotel staff is uniformly high quality; they are friendly, helpful, well trained, and very competent. The rooms are of nice size and are very comfortable. The ambiance of the hotel is first class. I will stay there again next time I am in London (which I hope is soon).”

“Nice hotel - for the price I paid, would have liked them to care that the television didnt work first day and had to fight to have them fix the internet bill (several problems with it). Support staff great, lady behind desk let a lot to be desired. Great location.”

  • Location.
  • It felt more like a 3-star hotel, not 5-star.

“I had high expectations as this was supposed to be a 5-star hotel and a Marriott. However, I was very disappointed. I got to the hotel at 2:30pm and was told that the room wouldn't be ready for another 45 min. When I returned 45 min later, they told me to wait another 5 min. Well, I waited an additional 15 min and the room still wasn't ready. Finally after I got to my room, I had realized they gave me a smoking room despite my specific request for a non-smoking room. Furthermore, all the controls in the room were very inefficient. For example, to turn the lights on in the bathroom, you had to do so from the entrance, which I didn't know and thus had to waste some time looking for the light switch inside and just outside the bathroom. Likewise, all the lightings in the room had to be controlled from the entrance. What a pain in the butt! They also charged me $30 for using the high speed internet. I think that's quite steep. Moreover, the alarm clock was unplugged so I had to plug it in and set the time. Finally, the only full length mirror was inside the closet, yet the closet door wouldn't open all the way and therefore rendered useless. The entire hotel felt more like a 3-star hotel than a 5-star hotel. I was very disappointed.”

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • Convenient location, new.
  • Sterile, small common spaces.

“A nice, new Marriott in a very convenient location - 10 yards from the Marble Arch tube station. A bit more modern than the typical Marriott, with quite a bit of marble, lacquered cherry wood, stainless railings and frosted glass panels. Still, not really a 5-star. Rooms are good size for central London, but this isn't the Lanes borough. Lobby area is small and convoluted around steps, a small bar and restaurant. Pool is stylish but quite cramped. Staff very friendly and efficient, but for the money I think I'd prefer the old Meridian Picadilly - despite a lower star rating.”
