• Hotel staff gave excellent service, very attentive to needs.
• Elevators not working well on Saturday of our stay. We used the stairs instead.

“Hotel is close to Massachusetts General Hospital but we were not disturbed by noise. It is located close to T station. Restaurants, Starbucks, CVS, etc. located close to hotel. What more could you need!?! Room was not 'upscale', but was clean and sufficient. This was family vacation with 2 twins; we were pleased with location and hotel.”

• Location was excellent, easy to get to everything in Boston.
• Bathroom was very small - door hit into toilet. No tub, only a shower. Not a good representation of star level.

“Great location, helpful staff. Inflexibility on check-in time very inconvenient. Rooms are not very sound proof, could hear neighbors most nights. Bathrooms are small. Hotel is neat and clean.”

• Great location, awesome service. The staff was very attentive.
• The rooms had a very strong cigarette odor.

“Except for the odor of cigarettes, the room was and hotel was great. The staff went out of their way for you when ever they could. They didn't act like they were doing you a favor when assisting you. They seemed to be happy to help. Great hotel.”

• We were given a large room with sitting area.
• Bathroom door did not open fully due to toilet location.

“The furnishings in this hotel have seen better days. The bathroom, although it had been remodeled, was a bit of a disappointment as the door did not fully open. The door hit the toilet. This was a bit frustrating considering we had two people trying to get ready in the morning and it was impossible to have more than one person in the bathroom at a time. The elevators are very slow.”

• It was close to Boston's Red Line and walkable to the city.
• It was very noisy, with the air conditioning unit and the ambulances since we were near a hospital.

“I found this hotel to be more upscale than I thought it would be. It had a great outdoor pool and a reasonable fitness center. It was close to Boston's redline on the T and not too far from the a lot of the city's attractions. There was a Au Bon Pain, and ice cream store and a Whole Foods Supermarket a few steps away, and a drug store and wine shop, too! The major drawback was the noise level. The hotel is next door to Mass. Gen Hospital and ambulances with full sirens were constantly driving by. The air conditioning unit had a blower that was really loud. If you are a heavy sleeper, this would be an ideal place to stay!”

• Location was great - central to government center and Subway lines.
• Seemed like it could use a bit of a touch up.

“The Holiday Inn Beacon Hill is a great central location whether you are traveling on business or in town for fun. Very close to Government Center, Subway and bus lines, and quite frankly, also within walking distance of most things. I easily walked to the Freedom Trail, the waterfront, and Beacon Hill. Whole Foods and CVS are practically next door - which was also very convenient. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The only (slight) negative would be that the hotel could use a bit of a touch up - but that's it.”

• Hotel rooms are small, and they only accommodate 2 double beds, no queens.

• It was better than my expectations! The room and service were exceptional, sheets, products, pillows top quality.
• It was just a bit further than I thought from Government Center.

“The hotel was not like any Holiday Inn I would stayed at before. The room, bed, bath, linens were luxurious even including a pillow menu and down filled pillows. The lobby and common areas were bright and inviting and the staff was excellent and very friendly. The business center with 2 computers was usually busy, so they might consider adding additional computers. Overall, it was a wonderful retreat after a day of touring the city.”

• Rude staff, very late check in.

“The check in is 4pm and you will not be allowed to check in a minute sooner, under ANY circumstances. The hotel restaurant shuts down in the middle of the day, when you may actually want to use it. The rooms are dimly lit, with NO full length mirror. The electricity does not work all the time, and I had taken a shower in the dark. The hotel is unresponsive and the staff is blatantly rude. Will NEVER stay here again.”

• The bathroom door in my room wouldn't open the whole way, it would stop @ the toilet.

“The location of this hotel was great, it was 2 blocks from the T, right near Fanueil Hall, the purpose of this trip was to celebrate my Birthday with my friends, all the restaurants/clubs/bars were nearby (about a mile away) therefore, taking a taxi wasn't expensive in the city. The staff was very welcoming and helpful; I would recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• There was a mildew like smell in the bathroom.

“Wonderful location. Easy walk to the T. The staff here was great. My only complaint was the mildew like odor in the bathroom. Though not overpowering, it was definitely noticeable and easily remedied with new shower curtains.”

• Awesome location, easy parking.
• Street not marked, difficult to find, hotel signs weren't real prominent.

“Overall its a very nice hotel. It's in a great location for Boston attractions. Again, not easy to find but that's mostly because there was no street sign. Would be nice to have a map in the room for walking directions. I would stay there again!”

• It was very convenient to downtown Boston, many restaurants, bars, the T, and sights.
• Walls seemed thin. Could hear doors slam and the ice machine in the hall.

“Overall this hotel was very nice and convenient to everything. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The hotel also provided luggage storage on my first day when I arrived early and could not check in yet. My favorite thing about this hotel was that it was very close to plenty of places to eat and a short walk to T stops and many of Boston's sights. It was a perfect location for getting to both the north and south stations (if you want to take a train to outside the city), and located on the blue line for easy access to the airport.”

• The employees were excellent, could not do enough.
• The mattresses were sub-standard.

“The location is great, but hard to find. Valet parking is a must. It has a beautiful lobby and the rest of the building is nice. The main plus is the wonderful attitude of the employees.”

• Location was convenient, easy to find, valet parking, shopping nearby, reasonably priced.
• The hotel should provide a free continental breakfast. A rather simple buffet was $40 for 2 people.

“We were pleasantly surprised. It was very convenient to everything that we were looking for in a first trip to Boston. It is within walking distance to most tourist areas and the Beantown Trolley picks you up right on Cambridge Street outside of the hotel. The Beacon Hill area is lovely and for a weekend visit to Boston, this hotel is recommended. Our room looked out at the Charles River and we got a great nights sleep, as it was an end room, very quiet. The restaurant is pricey, but again adequate, especially for the convenience. The shopping area next to the hotel has a whole Foods Market, which is awesome and also check out the Stone Cold Creamery there for some great hand made ice cream. Be sure to give the valet parking your request at least 20 minutes prior to departure, as a rush occurs and the wait can be long. I would definitely return to the Holiday Inn at Beacon Hill.”

• We found the hotel to be friendly, helpful, great location for tourism, good restaurants, CVC, grocery stores nearby and Grayline pick-up.
• Did not have the usual gift shop to save shopping time.

“We had a great trip to Boston. We loved the fact that this hotel allowed us to have Grayline pick us up for our tours. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made our travel very comfortable.”

• Very clean. Crisp sheets. Upscale but small bathroom. Dependable room service.
• Restaurant was really overpriced. We didn't eat there because pancakes were $9.50!

“This hotel was in the upscale part of Boston, yet was walking/subway distance to parks, river front, quaint cafe's, everything one needs. I looked forward to returning to it at the end of the day! Comfy beds with crisp linens, a bathroom that I felt comfortable in while barefoot, nice shower head, fluffy white towels. Right out the back door was Whole Foods, CVS, Ice cream shop, starbucks, and a Tavern eatery. Computer room to print out your boarding passes and travel plans. It would have been nice to have a more reasonably priced restaurant on the premises. We just could not see paying $9.50 for pancakes or $5.50 for a bowl of cereal. Room service charges would double the cost! Everything else exceeded my expectations.”

• The location was excellent for the sites we wanted to see.
• The concierge was not helpful at all-knew nothing.

“Overall very pleased. The information desk was not helpful. They didn't have a good knowledge of sites or restaurants that a tourist would be interested in seeing. The front desk clerk was more helpful when we needed directions. Other than that, we were very happy with our stay.”

• Very far from public transportation. A good walk required.

“I would stay here again, but if you want access to Subway be prepared for a good uphill walk. Taxi are handy, but are Time and Milage-ouch. Can be expensive. Subway system is good and easy to use. There is a great market behind the hotel that has really good food to purchase. The restaurant is expensive and poor food served for breakfast and dinner really bad.”

“Good location since near T station. The hotel looks better on the outside than inside. The furniture is a little older. However, the staff is little friendly and the hotel room suffices as a place to get some sleep at night.”

• Centrally located near the places in Boston that interested us.
• The room did not have a refrigerator or a bath tub, it only had a shower.

“The rooms were spacious, but the furnishings were very used and in need of being updated. I did very much appreciate the use of the free wireless internet provided by the hotel.”

• Very convenient for public transportation.
• Didn't have it's own parking although parking is close. Bathroom is small.
