“Very convenient to China Town and tour stops, friendly, helpful staff, nice architecture and layout. $36 to park until 2 pm, $6 per hour after 2 pm.”

• The concierge, we had met before, a nice and helpful man.
• Checking in, 50$ added as to 3 meal's a day with drink's.

“Mostly ok. The add of the 50 dollar charge was a misnomer. All in all, a super hotel. Keep up the good effort's. We would love to stay in Baltimore next month.”

• Clean and well located. Comfortable beds.
• Tiny rooms with only one double bed (not even queen!).

“Rooms were really tiny. Only suitable for single person or young couple. Only one double bed, no desk or even a chair in the room (no space anyway). No hair dryer in room. The room was very clean, good bathroom and shower. Friendly staff. Superb location.”

• Conveniently close to the train station, in the middle of Boston, just a few blocks from Chinatown.
• Located on a busy street across from the hospital. Sirens occasionally blared.

“Conveniently located next to the T station and just a few short blocks to Chinatown. The hotel was clean, my bed was comfortable and the hotel is situated midway between everything. I was able to get to the hotel within 30 from the airport using the blue line and transferring to the orange line (New England Hospital Station). The staff was helpful and friendly. I would definitely consider staying here again.”

• Could be better location, but overall safe.

“Very comfortable room with a decent selection of TV channels for those rainy days. Comfortable beds. The hotel itself is quite good, cold AC and very friendly staff. Our car broke down and concierge got us to a reliable garage and we made our 900km trip home. The staff of this hotel are doing an overall good job! The hotel is right next to a hospital, so the area immediately around the hotel is clean and well lit. The T stop is right there so you can catch public transit into town. For the price, it was cheaper then staying at a hostel for 2 people.”

• The non-smoking room was unbearable.

“I was pleasantly surprised at how the Doubletree was modern, clean and comfortable with great amenities (Neutrogena cleansers, Wolfgang puck coffee, and warm gourmet cookie upon arrival). My one sore point was that I was given a smoking floor in a smoking room which to a non-smoker is beyond horrible as it makes breathing extremely difficult. When I asked if I could be moved to another floor, they told me the entire hotel was booked, but they did offer to bring in an industrial sized air purifier into my room which mercifully did the trick. If it wasn't for that, and the friendliness of the staff, I would have written off this hotel entirely.”

• Good hotel overall. Clean, located near good things.
• It's slightly on the edge of sketchiness. Not good late at night.

“Stayed here several times and always had a good experience. The only strike against is the proximity to sketchiness (combat zone, druggies, etc.). This is only an issue late at night though. Otherwise, it is right in the heart of Boston's best.”

“The hotel staff was very friendly and always willing to help. The rooms and hallways were always clean and we did not have any sort of issues within the hotel. There are a ton of great restaurants and sites near by. I was a bit concerned for our safety at night though.”

• The value for price was EXCELLENT!
• Only complaint-bell service was very slow.

“This hotel was beautiful and clean. When we checked in, we were given warm cookies! It was located right next to a T stop (steps away), but the room was quiet at night. Bed was extra comfy and HUGE. I enjoyed my stay and would suggest this hotel to anyone! Excellent value!”

• Bad location, creaky floors, did not have king bed and was out of non smoking rooms.

“The hotel was in China Town, the other side of the Theater District. I am surprised that Double Tree a Hilton company would put their name on this hotel, it must have been an old warehouse because you can hear the old creaky floors throughout. It advertises a pool, but it is not the hotel pool, but the YMCA pool which seems to share the same building. This hotel was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. Last week they had me at the Radisson which was two blocks west, the true Theater District. I can't say enough about how nice the Radisson was and how the Doubletree paled in comparison.”

• Front desk clerks were not good; not aware our companions had checked in.

“Walk able location to most theatre & Copley square destinations. Valet parking was great first impression. Front desk personnel require more training & seemed confused by basic questions & protocols. Our room was small, yet bathroom was abnormally long layout. Bar area was good for waiting for friends, seated about 12.”

“This was an absolute mess. We arrived at the hotel and they said they did not have non-smoking rooms. We specifically asked for non-smoking rooms. The employee who greeted us was very rude.”

• The rooms were very nice and the hotel was quiet and peaceful. The subway stop was right next door thus very convenient.
• It was next to Chinatown and a questionable part of town, but only for a couple of blocks.

“We would stay in this hotel again as it was convenient, upscale, quiet and the staff helpful. The health club is part of the YMCA next door, so there were quite a few kids using the pool, equipment, etc. The block in which the hotel sits is slightly questionable, but easy walking to sights or taking the subway almost next door.”

“We loved our stay at the Doubletree in Boston. Located literally right above the orange line medical center stop, it was super convenient for getting around the city to look at apartments. It was right across from the hospital but very quiet and comfortable. The only complaint we had was that the bathroom smelled a little bit like mold, but for the price and the location we were very pleased!”

“I would not recommend this hotel to anyone other then a night to get some sleep. I found the traffic noise outside very loud and could not sleep, the rooms were very small and the whole place smelled too sterile like a hospital/doctor office. I didn't find the hotel very comfortable at all. The building layout and room layout seemed small and awkward.”

• The room was well appointed and very comfortable.
• Close proximity to hospital meant that we were hearing frequent ambulance sirens outside our window.

“The Doubletree in Boston is a great place for business or leisure travelers. Staff was friendly, rooms are spacious and well appointed, and the central location is great for those who wish to walk to various parts of the city. The one drawback to the hotel is its proximity to the Tufts Medical Center (hospital). Since it is literally right next door, we heard loud ambulance sirens very frequently, including late at night.”

• The maids left our room alone when we put the Do mot disturb sign on our door.
• Nothing.

“Well it all started with us not knowing the exit for the hotel was in the Callahan tunnel but we got by that and made it there at 2 p.m. and check in was a breeze I thought I would get the old you rooms not ready bit but no we went straight to our room warm cookies in hand well not quite. I guess beer is not allowed in the rooms there or sometime because the bell man said can't have that is there some where you can put it? I thought huh anyway to make a long story short we had to hide an 18 pack in our suitcases and get in the service elevators through a maze of halls to find our room so we could have a beer. Anyhow I cannot complaining I just thought it was funny.”

• The hotel is not in as good as shape as it probably should be.

“This hotel was extremely convenient to the freedom trail, downtown Boston etc. It is right next to the orange line subway and right across the street from the New England Medical Center. The hotel itself could use a little freshening up, not quite as clean as I would like to see it.”

“The rooms in the hotel seem to differ in size for the same price. Shopping, dinning, and the theatre all within a 15 minutes walk. Hotel had a great staff that helped with everything from getting a taxi to helping with the bags.”

• I did not like this hotel.
• Ugly building; cheap furnishings; screaming children in lobby.

“If this were rated a 2-star hotel, instead of 3-star, it would be fine. It is basically on par with your average suburban Comfort Inn, but it's definitely not a serious downtown business hotel. The room was clean, and the staff were competent. However, the public facilities were ugly, the furnishings were cheap, and when I arrived the lobby was packed full of tourists with screaming children.”

“I arrived somewhat early and my room was ready for me. Friendly staff gives you a chocolate chip cookie on arrival, what could be better? Large room, very clean. Extremely comfortable bed. Hotel food good.”

• The staff did not know what they were talking about.

“The hotel looked nice, they advised they had no king size beds when we checked in, then when we had to switch rooms in the middle of the night due to the noise on our floor they put us in a room with a king size bed. The parking was supposed to be charged to our room and was not so we had to waste time when we were leaving to pay the valet since it was never charged. The room they moved us to be next to the maids room and that woke us up at 5:30, I would not stay here again.”

• It is a part-time dormitory for Emerson College.

“The hotel is very convenient to the Orange Line, which wasn't very useful to actually get to Copley and Hynes Convention Center. The room wasn't disappointing. Very clean, with new appointments and very comfortable bed. I got to town for a conference that started at 8am, and was able to check in that early (normal check in time- 3pm). One night the in room TV options wasn't working, and the front desk sent up a security guard. And while he was nice, and tried to be helpful, he didn't have a clue as to what needed to be fixed. On the up side, I was given a free breakfast for the troubles. I saw kids lounging about in pajamas and slippers, and with the traffic in the hallway outside my room, I had many flashbacks to when I was a college freshman. Was it clean and safe? Absolutely. Would I stay there again? Only if I was doing business at Tufts Medical Center (from which patients could look right into my room, and I into theirs!).”
