- Free wine tasting at night, coffee in the morning, NY Times, mountain bikes, staff, decor, atmosphere, communal room!
- No free parking at hotel. Had to park at adjacent mall garage for $31.
“The staff is very helpful and friendly. They gave us a great map and educated us about the night life in the area. Definitely made our night of great Boston seafood and live bluegrass/jazz absolutely perfect! We almost didn't want to leave the hotel to venture out because we were so comfortable there. The free coffee and tea in the morning was fantastic as was the free wine and beer at night! The atmosphere is great and the common room where they serve the coffee and wine is perfect for socializing with other guests who are equally as impressed. The rooms are a little smaller than I'm used to, but the accommodations were beyond my expectations and that included access to free high-speed internet, a great king size bed, and on and on. We'll be going back! The only issue I had with the hotel was that there was no free parking, or any parking at the hotel. We had to park next door in the mall's garage which came out to over $30 for saturday night to sunday afternoon. Just be prepared. Other than that, I'll definitely be going back!”

- They allowed dogs; rooms were beautiful, staff friendly.
- Our stay was too short.
“We loved the location. I wish we had stayed longer. Our room was spectacular and wished we had known it was pet friendly so we could have brought our dog. Highly recommend this hotel and will stay here again.”

- Nicely decorated rooms.
- A little further from subway than thought. Also, charged for parking. They said it was free when I called.
“Very nice hotel. Be prepared to pay for parking. Decided to stay in Cambridge because the hotel said parking was free, it wasn't. Parking cost almost as much as Downtown Boston, if you're headed Downtown, you may just want to pay for parking, rather than dealing with public transportation.”

- Style and decor was unlike anything I had ever seen.
- Was surprised that lounge was so small.
“Definitely worth the price I paid and easily met my expectations. Room was perfectly clean. Was disappointed that my TV internet did not work. As a dog lover, I appreciated that the hotel was pet-friendly, but I could understand if others did not share the same feeling. Restaurant in the hotel was very good; however my entree took a long time. They took it off the bill without me even mentioning it, so that made up for it. Otherwise, restaurant service was great. Check in was easy, and parking is actually a good deal relative to Boston prices, $20 for overnight. Was surprised that the hotel is connected to Cambridge Side Mall, so picking up toiletries I had forgotten to pack was very convenient. Would recommend this hotel to couples with a taste for leopard print and red plush.”

“I stayed here with six couples. We were treated with respect and attentiveness. The restaurant was not typical hotel fare. Chef came out to see to every need. Food was great in quality and presentation. It's hard to please 12 people but everyone agreed had a superb stay.”

- Rooms over the courtyard (where valet service and entrance to hotel is located) are noisy until 1 AM.
“Centrally located, beautiful, trendy, chic environment, animal friendly (saw a couple of big dogs) and yet scrupulously clean (cleaner than some 4-star hotels that only host people!). The staff was welcoming and helpful. Happy hour at the bar was great - good drinks, service, and ambiance. A real delight.”

- We were put on a smoking floor.
“Great hotel and would be a great place to reside over a long weekend with my wife. The only complaint I have is that we specifically asked for non smoking room. Our room had a heavy odor of cigar smoke. When we inquired almost immediately they told us it was a non smoking room on a smoking floor. During checkout we told them about it again and they said someone must have illegally smoked in the room.”

- Very attentive staff.
- Cambridge side/galleria mall parking closed early.

The desk clerk and bell staff were quick to solve problems with the on site parking service they parked the car right for me when the garage opened! The rooms are bright, well appointed, quiet and very clean. The maid staff was perfect the room was made up / turned down at just the right moment without ever telling them when to do so.”

- The wine tasting in the evening and the coffee and papers in the morning- no charge anywhere.
- Sometimes I do get a bit frustrated by the hotel's location.
“I have stayed here many times and just love it. Over the top decor makes it feels very different from the typical chain hotel and really nice staff really makes it distinct. The wine tasting from 5-6 is very popular, as is the free coffee in the morning. Very nice turn down service at the end of the day provides lovely chocolates and more. It's hard to read the paper in the lobby due to the lighting which is pretty much nonexistent, and the hotel restaurant is not anything to write home about, but all in all, it is a super place to be.”

- The hotel has its interiors done in a unique color scheme. Such as bright red and yellow colors, which are found throughout the inside of the hotel?
- I wish they offered complimentary breakfast.

- Room was a tad smaller than I expected for a 4-star hotel.

- Staff was not terribly knowledgeable about directions.
“The rooms were very comfortable, if somewhat aggressively decorated. The doorman greeted us by name when we got out of the taxi from the airport. The location is somewhat out of the way for Cambridge--Harvard Square is quite a hike--but for Boston it's great--Lychmere T stop is very close. Lovely views of the city across the river, and very close for walks along the river. It was a good value and suited our purpose very well, but if you want to be located right in the heart of things, stay elsewhere.”

- It was beautiful, clean and roomy. Bathroom was immaculate and gorgeous.
- No shuttle service, though this is not uncommon in Boston.

- Glorious decor, pet friendly, nice wine at the end of the day in the lobby.
- The staff at the desk is always giving directions so there is always a wait. Should be more organized.
“Love this place. It is so different from a boring Hilton or Marriott. They love pets, the decor is just grand and they are really into healthy living. The location here is not great, though, so everyone bogs down the people at the desk with requests for directions to the t. But when I checked in at the end of the day, I had just missed the free wine in the lobby and when I mentioned I was looking forward to a glass of wine, they sent one right up to my room. I wish the restaurant was better. But all in all, I could live at the Marlowe.”

- We asked for a later checkout, but were only allowed to extend for an additional hour.
“Excellent location, staff was exceedingly helpful; the accommodations were both comfortable and attractive. We dined @ bambina, the hotel restaurant, and were very pleased with our meal. Our only complaint would be that our flight did not leave until later in the afternoon and although we requested a later check out we were only allowed to extend 1 hour beyond the regular check out time. - Very clean and comfortable. I loved the decoration.
- The staff did not respond to any of my emails. Was not sure if they were having trouble.

- Funky, fun hotel with great spirit and at a great price.
- Valet parking attendant was rude.
“The location is a bit out-of-the-way, but the hotel is chic yet friendly. Love the water bowl and welcoming sign for dogs out front, and seeing furry guests trotting through the lobby. Appreciate the passes to play squash at nearby courts.”

- Front desk was very helpful in guiding me to hotel. Hotel very clean and luxurious. Loved the mall next door.
- Had to pay for parking. Very difficult to find entry via underground parking garage for mall. Accessibility and location of door - poor.
“This hotel is beautiful. The room is very comfortable and nicely furnished. The staff is excellent and very helpful. Finding the hotel door on lower level c of garage was difficult. More signage is definitely needed.”

- Convenient to Boston.
- Had to pay $20 a night to self- park. Valet was $28.
“Right next to the galleria mall in Cambridge. Walking distance to Lechmere stop on green line t. Staff was either very helpful or too rushed to help. Nice room, nice hotel. Near Boston.”

- Elegant simplicity, excellent location for shopping and dining and subway.
- No refrigerator.
“My spouse and I were pleasantly surprised with the hotel accommodations. The hotel had an elegant yet "hip" decor and feel. The hotel was attached by an indoor walkway to a 3-story shopping mall with eateries. Parking was also conveniently located below the shopping center, making it easy for us to park for the weekend and merely walk everyplace. We were also within a 10 minute walk to Boston's subway system. We enjoyed the walking path along the Charles River which was directly across the street from the hotel. We had a perfect weekend and would appreciate visiting Hotel Marlowe in the future.”
