• Very clean, capable concierge, right next to subway.

“Great place, but very simple and clean, but not a lot of amenities and no pool. Did not try restaurant. Subway right outside and a great buffet deli just south on 3rd St. called Azure. Hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. Concierge is very good.”

• Very attentive staff, clean rooms, safe place.
• I liked everything about it.

“I was waiting for my daughter whom I have not seen for a long time and the staff bent backwards to make my stay very comfy. During my breakfast at the cafe the manager was around checking the staff's performance. I will be back again. I lived for 23 years in NYC (2 decades ago I moved to Virginia).”

• Excellent local. Right next to everything including the sub!
• $45 valet a day. But if you walk its no problem.

• The guy, Mark, who checked me into my room was such a delight and very sweet.
• I liked everything, but I would like to see a couple more computers added on the 12th floor for the guests.

“This is one of my favorite hotels in Manhattan. It is centrally located by the Subway which is perfect. The staff are always very helpful; specifically, Mark on the evening shift was really kind. This hotel is super clean and appealing.”

• Since I was there for a visit to Sloan Kettering, this hotel was in the perfect location.
• We could not add days to our stay, but were forced to move to a different hotel.

• The set up of the room was excellent. Very comfortable and clean.
• When we called to retrieve our vehicle from valet, they failed to deliver it on time.

“We had a wonderful time in new York because of the hotel, but, we also were disappointed because the front desk failed to advise valet to deliver our vehicle and we missed a show. We were not happy about this and the front desk only had an attitude when I refused to pick it up. Otherwise, the other staff members were friendly and helpful. We were even allowed to leave our luggage after checkout, for as long as we wanted. Their chocolate chip cookies were excellent at check in too! Nice touch!”

• The bath towels were stiff with excess detergent, change the laundry process.

“The staff was courteous and attentive. There is small dining room for breakfast only - no evening meals. The lounge is on the 12th floor, it is tiny, and you¿d be better off going out. Great for meetings - no nonsense.”

• The room was spacious and had all the amenities I needed for my business stay.
• Although this was not important to me, the lobby was more like a hallway and not very attractive.

“The room, staff and facilities were outstanding at the Courtyard. I was attending a conference nearby, so I did not have the chance to dine at the restaurants or use the exercise facilities, but my stay was very comfortable, and the staff was responsive to all my requests and needs. The location was perfect for my conference and also for walks in mid-town and a trip to the theater.”

• many blocks to walk to get to places of interest.

“Built in late 1990s; rooms are clean and are located high above street level so that traffic noise is very minimal. Many conveniences are included (hair dryer, ice bucket, coffee maker, restaurant on site, cool/heat control, laundry, etc.) Walking distance to a few things (several blocks to Rock feller plaza, Central Park, or Times Sq., but the subway system is right on the block (a must to use unlimited passes to travel); safe area (for being city); helpful/pleasant front desk / concierge service; 24hour store next door; Recommend - would do this again, especially since cleanliness, privacy, and subway convenience are my main concerns.”

“This is an excellent business hotel in a great location on east side. The rooms are pleasant and well maintained. I witnessed an ugly encounter between a customer and front desk staff in which staff were very rude to the customer, although I had no problems.”

• Fabulous location, excellent service, terrific price.
• No off street pull in for cars. Had to pull up to hotel and negotiate parking from street with hotel staff.

“Wonderful experience in every way. Exceeded my expectations. The location is right on the green 6 line for the subway which goes uptown and downtown. Close enough walk to east side sites like UN as well as Times Square and midtown attractions. Will hopefully stay here again and again. They also took the price I offered and it was great.”

• Smoke alarm went off in the middle of the night.

“They arranged a car service for us back to the airport since it's not a flat fee back to JFK from Manhattan. Then the bellman even upgraded us to a limo since it was my mother's birthday. The limo was a little shady but it was a very nice thought for a good price.”

• Clueless front desk staff.

“Aggressive security. Refused to be able to check in earlier than the required 4 pm time frame. Front desk staff was so disorganized even when I repeated myself three times they still did not cognate the fact that I was priority club member and that I could have early check in. I requested the manager. She started repeating herself before even listening to me. The manager was eating at the front side office, talking with her mouth full. Bathtub had enamel burned away from a crack pipe on three spots on the tub. Hair on the floor. Flat uncomfortable pillows. Broken elevator. Abandoned vacuums, and towels on the floor in the hallways. ”

• Some staff/concierge are really unprofessional

“The location is great, the rooms are reasonable for the price. Overall id have to say the staff are really unprofessional. Late at night there are times when there are no people at all at the concierge desk at all! The guards are really rude and sit around telling obnoxious jokes while there are guests sitting around in the lobby, and when you walk in they put on an act as if they're trying to be welcoming, when its really obvious you've just interrupted one of their laugh sessions. Overall, the bad taste in your mouth when you leave kind of ruins the experience, and id recommend anywhere else where the staff are more amiable and attentive, rather than just lounging around the couches and jumping up to straighten out their act once a guest walks in.”
