  • Mold, broken air conditioner, the elevator bank on our floor was ripped apart.

  • The staff was professional, friendly, helpful, and paid close attention to detail. A pleasure.
  • The waiter who delivered the room service was very short with me and my spouse.

“The hotel is located in a safe, upscale neighborhood. It is centrally located near all attractions. Walking distance to all activities from uptown central park to midtown times square. It was a pleasure staying here. Will most certainly stay with the Marriott again.”

  • Simple, close to various shops.
  • Cost to park our car, a rip off at 450. Parking should be free.

“The room we got was nice and plain. The bathroom door would not lock and after telling the hotel staff, they did not fix it. So we could not use the bathroom in private. Over all no one bothered us in the hotel. The walls were thin because we could hear people talking in the hallway and in the other room. Also the room had to hair dryer like other hotel rooms that isn't a one star hotel.”

  • The beds at the Marriott are amazing and I love the size of the bathroom.
  • Location wasn't that great. Safe and all but far from major attractions.

  • The view they gave us was horrible, they said we had a nice view of the harbor, we saw a small corner of it.

“I was pleasantly surprised with the service and quality of the room at the Marriott eastside. The room was newly decorated. In-room coffee maker and small refrigerator (excellent for bottled water). The bathroom was above average with marbled floor and countertop - extra wide shower head. Wide screen TV was also a nice surprise. The staff was always friendly and helpful when entering & exiting the hotel. Overall, I will definitely return to this hotel.”

  • Conveniently located, nice clean room, very comfortable bed.
  • Elevators are small and stuffy, no air circulating.

“Hotel rooms were clean and roomy. Bed and linens were very comfortable. View from the room wasn't the greatest, overlooked the roof of a building that was being renovated, but wasn't in the room that much anyway. Remote for the television was tricky - paid to watch the Discovery Channel by accident; might want to call desk and have a lock put on the "pay per view". Overall, great experience, would not hesitate to stay there again.”

  • Clean, renovated rooms in the heart of New York city.
  • The street noise could disturb some travelers.

“The hotel rooms at the Marriott had recently been renovated, and you could see the improvements everywhere you looked. The room included a large plasma television, hip furnishings, and a relatively large marble bath. My only reservation was the high level of street noise audible in the hotel room which might disrupt some hotel guests. Not a problem for me though, since I spent the night on the town, and by the time I got back to the room a bullhorn couldn't have woken me up.”

  • Close proximity to Rockefeller Center, shopping, theater and attractions.
  • I called the hotel to request 2 double beds, and upon arrival, there was only 1 king bed availability.

“Great location, wonderful city views, clean, attentive and courteous hotel staff. Would highly recommend this hotel to friends and relatives, and would definitely return!”

“It's a popular hotel. Called three days before arrival and asked for two beds room. However, upon arrival, the type of room requested was not available. Lucky, I was staying with my wife and 60 years-old mother. With an extra roller-bed (me slept in it, of course), it worked out OK. But what if this is for a two men business trip? Two guys sleep in one nice big King-size bed? Not a pretty picture I will have in my mind.”

  • Complimentary coffee in lobby for breakfast and free orange flavored water in evening.
  • The chair in the room did not fit under the desk so it stuck out in the walk area of the room.

“Concierge was very helpful with info for restaurants and checking where things were in the computer. Front desk personnel very friendly and apologetic when we went to 1st room and someone had smoked and it stunk, so they changed our room immediately.”

  • It was a bit far (East) from where we wanted to be.

“The staff at this hotel was great. We interacted with a few, and every time was given exceptional service. We requested a quiet room when we checked in. We were pleasantly surprised to get a room on the 31st floor in an area where we didn't have any walk-by traffic. It was great! The AC took a while to cool down the room and was a little loud, but the room fit our needs and exceeded our expectations. We had an awesome flat panel HDTV in our room, which was a bonus! The hotel also served cookies and fruit punch in the evening at the front desk, which was a nice treat.”

  • Wonderful complimentary toiletries (bath and body works).
  • Room was small and dark, no coffee maker in room.

“This Marriott does not offer the luxury linens or plush extras that many NYC hotels have. Guests must pay for wireless and our room did not have the standard complimentary coffeemaker. Our room was super small and had just one small window that left the room dark the entire day. However, the staff was super-friendly, the bed was comfortable, and the location ideal.”

  • The people that worked there were very pleasant.
  • How far the hotel was from Penn station.

“Over all the hotel was great. We found it to be very clean. The whole staff were friendly and very quick to satisfy your requests. I was in the City with a couple of my girlfriends and everyone of them were completely satisfied with the Marriott hotel.”

  • Very loud traffic noise and constant knocking from ventilation system.

“Good location if getting to and from Grand Central is a priority, but rooms are not quiet, loud knocking from ventilation system accompanied by traffic noise throughout the night should assure you that this is not the place for a restful retreat or even a”

  • Onsite restaurant - poor quality, did not meet expectations at all.

“The hotel was fabulous - beautiful historic building, friendly and professional staff, loved the location, price point was perfect - exceeded my expectations the restaurant - not nearly the same level of quality as the hotel - either replace your line cook or send him back to school - did not even meet the most minimum of my expectations.”

  • I found the staff to be exceptionally nice and patience with suggestion on where to go for fun and sight seeing.
  • To me the front desk needs to loosen up. Be business to people who are their for that ,otherwise a smile is nice.

  • The air conditioning in our room didn't work and we had to move at 3am.

“I like to stay at Marriott's - however I was disappointed in this one. If you were thirsty, they had no soda machines or no small refrigerators in the room to keep anything cold. They wanted the guest to have to use room service where the charges for that are outrageous! Even when we called down to the front desk to ask about a soda machine they said no and that there is room service - however, the next night we found out that there was a 24hr deli place. However - the bartender (Steve) was excellent!”

“Ended up with a smoking room when I don't smoke. King sized bed when I requested for double. Checked out the next day and went to another Hotel. Was then charged for 2 rooms and yet to recover my money. Lousy experience to say the least.”
