“It is a beautiful hotel. Things that are complementary at 2 star hotels are a 12.00 dollar charge here, including internet.” Aug 29, 2007 by
Angela from Atlanta, GA
“Loved the location and room size and facilities, Oscar's for Sunday breakfast was appalling, discourteous staff, coffee cold and horrible and food not properly cooked. No service! Would stay in hotel again but won't eat there ever.” Aug 15, 2007 by
Kathleen from Rye, NH
“The Waldorf did not meet my quality expectations from either a facility or service perspective. The room itself was standard hotel fare, but the bathroom had a hole in the wall where the switch for a fan should be, meaning there was no fan. The sink and walls showed their age and repair as did the public restroom in the lobby. It is the service issues however that are the most disappointing. There were long wait times to register, to get our car at the end of the stay. Most questions we asked were responded to in a very curt, 'you're bothering me I'm busy', or 'how could you be so stupid' tone. I realize its New York, but please. I expected so much more. I have stayed there in the past and have stayed at 5 star hotels across the world. This was very disappointing. I would not choose to stay there again” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 3, 2007 by

“Very impressed with the hotel, its employees and the service. My daughter and I spent an overnight there and we were very comfortable with all the amenities the hotel had to offer. Would go there again and would recommend to anyone staying in NYC.” Jul 24, 2007 by
Tracy from Ruckersville, VA
“I was surprised by the impressive size and quality of my room for a NYC hotel. I was given a first class accommodation despite the low fare paid.” Jul 24, 2007 by
Kim from Miller Place, NY
“I had looked forward to staying at the Waldorf Astoria, but found my stay a little disappointing. The room was tiny and the shower did not work properly. We were placed in a room next to the elevator, so we heard it running all night. We ate breakfast at Peacock Alley and it was very unimpressive. For a big bill, we received rubbery eggs and poor wait service. The host and hostess, however, were more attentive and friendly.” Jul 22, 2007 by
Katie from San Antonio, TX
“I would definitely come back to the Waldorf. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. I felt a sense of elegance that some of the newer hotels lack. The location couldn't have been better. We walked to the theater, shopping and wonderful restaurants.” Jul 19, 2007 by
Gail from Rockville, MD
“If you are going to NYC and you want a nice hotel in a great location for a good price, I would stay here.” Jul 19, 2007 by
Bob from Sydney AU
“Well worth a visit and not just for the name. The hotel is still a work in progress in places, but some of the public areas are amazing. Just remember that it is an older hotel, so may have some quirks that you wouldn't encounter in more modern establishments, but what character.” Jul 10, 2007 by
Margaret from Carmel, IN
“First time at this hotel and I was so impressed with the flowers, the staff and the location. Will certainly go back the next time I am in New York. Have been telling all my family and friends that they must go there. Awesome.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 10, 2007 by

“Will stay again but after renovations are complete.” Jul 9, 2007 by
Laura from Plano, TX
“The hotel was luxurious, spacious and the ambiance radiated elegance. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I felt very safe in the area and it was close enough to shops, central park, time square and additional attractions. It was a dream of mine to stay at the waldorf Astoria, and I made it a reality. The hotel exceeded my expectations. Two thumbs up.” Jul 4, 2007 by
Roselyn from Rolling Meadows, IL
“Elegant, very New York, sophisticated.” Jun 28, 2007 by
Rick from Kansas City, MO
“Hotel had a large wedding going on and closed the lobby. Had to walk downstairs to basement to get to elevators. Staff in lounge was unfriendly and inattentive.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 21, 2007 by
Carmen from Humble, TX
“The hotel is great and historic. The only down side is that the lobby is always full with tourists and passer bys. Everyone wants to see the inside. Lovely place!” Jun 21, 2007 by
Mark from Worthington, OH
“Customer service was excellent. Hotel radiated class and elegance.” Jun 13, 2007 by
Child from Point Pleasant, PA
“This hotel is beautiful, staff was very friendly & helpful, rooms were extremely large & clean, beds were very comfortable, huge tub, and everything was very elegant. Down side, expensive! We will return here any time and recommend it to everyone.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 29, 2007 by

“The Waldorf Astoria was a beautiful hotel, nicely appointed and charming in every regard. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to friends. The bell and reservation staff is exceptional.” May 23, 2007 by
Rich from Stafford, VA
“The Waldorf exceeds any hotel I have ever visited. Customer support was outstanding. Room service was quick and friendly. The hotel is simply beautiful. Everything about the Waldorf was more than I expected. It will be my hotel of choice for every New York visit.” Apr 3, 2007 by
Alan from Conway, AR
“The welder offers a unique atmosphere and history offering a true new York experience. The hotel's location is ideal for those wanting to stay within walking distance of Rockefeller center and times square.” Mar 22, 2007 by
Elizabeth from Statesboro, GA
“We decided to stay at the well-off to get a good experience for our first trip to nay and we were not disappointed. The hotel is beautiful and the service was great. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to experience luxurious accommodations!” Mar 7, 2007 by
Amber from Bloomington, IN
“Beautiful, historic. Loved the room. Slept like a baby. Helpful and polite staff. Seem to have a system. Very good a directing guests to the proper places. The only complaint was one staff members answered my cousin's question about breakfast in a condescending manner. Otherwise great visit.” Mar 5, 2007 by
Allen from Tampa, FL
“Great location and definitely eat at Oscar's!” Feb 28, 2007 by
Damian from Philadelphia, PA
“For the price I paid, you can't beat the overall value. It was a beautiful hotel that everyone can enjoy!” Feb 19, 2007 by
John from Bridgeton, NJ
“If you are looking for anything affordable, look elsewhere, but if you want an experience to remember it will be worth the cost of the waldorf. The rooms are gorgeous and I slept better in the bed at the waldorf than I do at home. Shopping is a short walking distance and Broadway and midtown only minutes by cab. Unbelievable. My wife and I can't wait for the next visit.” Feb 15, 2007 by
Piers from Gustard Wood
“We loved the welder Astoria, staying there 4 days in February. Check-in was instant. Our two children were offered crayons and coloring books, and without asking, we were given a significant room upgrade. the rooms were clean, spacious, old fashioned in a very endearing way, with plenty of towels, big beds, postcards, chairs etc breakfast was excellent, though busy, and the pancakes we had, large, with generous and extra maple syrup. The buffet was good too. All staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself enjoys an excellent location, and had a real art deco feel about it. The main areas are superbly historic, and a joy to walk through. We were sad to leave this historic hotel. And again, check out was fast and easy. Would we stay there again? Definitely.” Feb 14, 2007 by
Megan from Philadelphia, PA
“It was like stepping back into time. We were only a stone's throw from all the places that we wanted to visit. I only wish we had not made other arrangements for brunch because it looked fabulous! You couldn't possibly leave there hungry. Gorgeous flowers greeted us in the entryway and every last detail in the lobby was perfect down to the elevator doors. Only one disappointment, I know that the rooms go with the decor of the entire building, but it seemed like the last time it was renovated was in 1965. Everything was very well maintained, however, for a hotel with world class recognition I had higher expectations. Maybe I¿m just spoiled¿” Feb 7, 2007 by
Tom from Philadelphia, PA
“Old tired. Needs to be gutted and started all over again. Very disappointing.” 1 of 3 people found this review helpful.Jan 24, 2007 by

“Was probably the epitome of luxury in its hay day but is in desperate need of renovations and updates. I was actually fearful of cutting myself on the Nails that were exposed on the counters in the bathroom, and the light fixture hanging out of the wall in the shower.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 10, 2007 by
Roberto from Woodland Hills, CA
“Though the rooms were old, the history of the hotel made up for it. But for the price rate that they ask for, they should update the rooms, because there are nicer hotels in Manhattan that charge less.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 2, 2006 by
Judith from Tampa, FL
“Beautiful, historic and glamorous I would have preferred a few more cable channels on the TV. Altos did not need the fax and it looked kind of weird in all of the rooms. It took away from the overall glamour of the room. It would also have been nice to have a more reasonably priced breakfast at Oscar's - $27.00 is a bit high even for NY. I enjoyed my stay and would return!” Oct 21, 2006 by
Joe from Tucker, GA
“One of the best hotels that I have experienced.” Sep 20, 2006 by
Ricky from Mtjuliet, TN
“Hotel was clean, comfortable, friendly - great stay but never ate there due to prices.” Aug 23, 2006 by

“I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria on a Saturday night. My first impression was it was nice, lots of nice looking people with sweaters hanging around there necks. I got to the room and was disappointed by the appearance, it was nice, but I had stayed at the Hilton New York the night before and wasn't as nice as that room. It was clean, and the beds were comfortable. We took showers before we went out on the town and the shower would not drain and the shower wouldn't stay on unless the water was so hot it burnt your skin. Then we went out and came in late, the staff was great but I felt like they were all waiting for a tip. We wanted to sleep in, not a chance. The noise outside our room, and coming from other rooms was unbelievable. We had housekeeping open our door 4 times without knocking and yelling housekeeping!! The phone rang twice, and the one by the bed didn't work so I had to get up to answer it and no one was there, it had to be the hotel staff because we didn't know anyone else staying in this hotel. I felt as if they were trying to kick us out of our room. We had till 12 noon to be checked out and I didn't plan on checking out any earlier. Oh and the room service. What a joke that was. A very basic breakfast was 72 dollars and it came up cold, and I had to call to have them take it back, because it wasn't worth 72 dollars. Never ever will I stay there again.” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.Aug 8, 2006 by

“An elegant hotel in a convenient location. Service was excellent and the room was decent size for New York. The hotel is showing its age - elevators were broken, and the plumbing went out one night. Overall a decent value for the money by New York standards. They need to upgrade the hotel infrastructure though.” Aug 2, 2006 by
Kana from Rockville, MD
“We got an absolute price at the Waldorf Astoria and really appreciated the opportunity to stay at such a top hotel, in a mini-suite, at a great price.” Jul 19, 2006 by
Tina from Edgerton, WI
“We went for a "girl's only" weekend last week. It had been our first time in NYC & we were all quite impressed. There is a lot of walking around but it's such a great change from our daily lives. This hotel that we stayed at was quite impressive as well. We weren't expecting much out of our 1 bedroom, king size bed but wow, it was comfortable. We did wish for there to be a fridge & coffee maker in the room however. And we didn't realize we were being charged $1.50 every time we picked up the telephone but other than that, things went pretty well. This is a huge hotel & was packed with people on our stay.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 6, 2006 by

“The Waldorf-Astoria has done a great job of maintaining its reputation for luxury and class. staying at the Waldorf is like taking a trip into the past- interior decor is classic and timeless, but be warned that some of the furnishings (such as the a/c units in the rooms) are also old. overall, I highly recommend a stay at the Waldorf at least once in a lifetime!” Jul 6, 2006 by
Ling from Vancouver, BC CA
“This is my first stay in the hotel and I liked it very much. I will likely to come again if the price is still as good.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 7, 2006 by

“Hotel was beautiful. Staff friendly. Location ideal/upscale. Price is high, but you are definitely paying for the name here and for that it was worth it. We had a great stay in NYC.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 21, 2006 by

“Great place to stay, I was a little disappointed, I thought it would be more over the top.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 19, 2006 by

“What's to say? It's the Waldorf; it's appointed like no other hotel I've ever stayed in. There's a baby grand piano in the reception area and an excellent pianist playing almost any time of day. There's another baby grand in the foyer with the same set up. The staff is the best and most polite you can find anywhere. The only drawback is, it being an older building, the ventilation in my room left a bit to be desired. My room was a bit stuffy at night, and I could not seem to get the A/C to kick on. Had I been planning more than single night stay, I would have inquired about it with the front desk.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.May 17, 2006 by
Morgan from Cambridge, MA
“The Waldorf Astoria is the epitome of class and style - they value their guests and everyone is treated with importance & respect. The building itself is breathtaking and brimming with history. The room was gorgeous, complete with a huge marble bath. The lobby and ballrooms were spectacular! We could easily see why the Waldorf has the stellar reputation that it does. It was like going back in time to an era filled with grace and elegance - we truly loved every second of our stay!” 0 of 2 people found this review helpful.May 16, 2006 by

“Hotel was clean, comfortable and majestic though the rooms were fairly small. Great food and service at the restaurant and bars had friendly staff. Check in quick and easy and finally an offer of help with your luggage (by which time you felt you had got it this far through revolving doors and up stairs that you did not need assistance!).” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 9, 2006 by

“Fabulous art deco hotel well restored in excellent location. Staff all highly professional. Facilities were quiet, comfortable and attractive. Only down side was extra charges for workout facility and no coffee machine in room.” 1 of 2 people found this review helpful.Mar 8, 2006 by

“Though the grand lobby is beautiful, I was a bit disappointed with this hotel after you leave the lobby level, comparably priced hotels in area offer more luxurious rooms furniture, size, and linens. The common areas of the floors and the bathrooms in the rooms are quite dated and could use some work. Unfortunately the reality did not quite meet the reputation and as a result. I would be unlikely to stay here again.” 2 of 3 people found this review helpful.Mar 6, 2006 by

“Classic New York hotel with wonderful service, good location. Very attractive decor.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 28, 2006 by

“We were upgraded to a room in the Waldorf Towers at no additional cost. The lobby was beautiful with a fresh floral arrangement as large as a small room! Every door was opened, taxis were hailed for you, everything was excellent. The drinks were pricey in the lounges, but it is one of the finest hotels I have ever seen. It is a very short walk to Fifth Avenue shopping, and short cab rides to other locations. The reception desk was extremely friendly. ” 2 of 3 people found this review helpful.Hotel Representatives:
