• Decor, location, noise defusing system (white static) and cleanliness were all superior.
• Concierge service, & wait staff service.

“The hotel is beautiful and unique. Loved the white noise machine to diffuse hotel noise, it worked well. Room was attractive & well maintained. Concierge service was very disappointing. Two different interactions with two different staff. Got the wrong address for one place, and they did only the minimal in answering questions. I had to ask all sorts of clarifying questions. Never was given a map or useful recommendations when I was there in person. To be fair, the concierge I talked to prior to my arrival on the phone was exceedingly helpful. Which just added to my disappointment in the others who staffed the booth while I was there. We also had a new waiter at the restaurant who got easily flustered, and several things on their menu were not available. The server in the bar the previous evening was efficient but not overly friendly. Staff at front desk and the especially the doormen were friendly.”

• Service was great so was the food. I loved the cleanliness and the décor. The staff treated us very well.
• It was difficult to locate and did not have big sign, so we spent a lot of time asking around for its location.

“The staff were very friendly. We had an unexpected nice stay, wish we could have stayed longer. It was so easy to talk to the staff because new workers are usually very unfriendly. We are definitely be looking forward to staying there again.”

• Not too much in the surrounding area (i.e.. restaurants etc).

• Very clean and modernly designed hotel. Room was perfect and staff were very helpful and friendly.
• Not much.

“The Tribeca Grand Hotel was one of the best hotels I've stayed at and I've stayed at many hotels around the world. My wife and I checked in late after a very long flight with no problems (plus a free bottle of bubbly). The room they gave us had a leak on the floor from the A/C and instead of cleaning it up, the staff upgraded us to bigger room - free of charge. The staff was very friendly and helpful and took the extra step to make our brief stay very comfortable, even offered suggestions for breakfast around the area. I hope to stay there again the next time I'm in NYC.”

• Poor lighting in rooms.

“I stayed in this hotel with a friend to visit a friend that lives in NY. The location was ideal and close to everything. The staff was very helpful. We took a redeye from California and wanted to take a nap before hitting the town. We requested early checking but they were only able to accommodate our request with a smoking room. The staff let us smell both smoking rooms available and the scent was not a problem at all. The beds are incredibly comfortable. My only complaint is that the majority of rooms have a single king size bed. We had hoped for 2 double beds (which are only available in the "07" rooms. But ultimately it wasn't an issue). I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to a friend.”

“Somewhat "cold" personality. Unable to extend check out extra 30 minutes. On 98 degree day, would have been nice to have a little extra time before transportation was available. First NYC hotel in NYC to refuse this simple request.”

• Location was close to SoHo. Room was relatively clean.
• Terrible views. Garbage receptacle in bathroom counter. Subway noise. Trying too hard to be cool.

“Unlike the hipper SoHo Grand with its sunny outdoor bar and prime location, this awkward little sister below Canal Street suffers from full frontal views of parking lots and a dark cavernous interior best suited for winter tristes. Between subway rumbling and noise from the bar, you'll hardly notice the cramped guestroom quarters and bizarre garbage cans recessed into the bathroom countertops-in an attempt to be cool. Feels a bit unsanitary and sad, much like grimy Chinatown neighborhood nearby. Good news: SoHo is just a few blocks away.”

• The decor was a hip and clean style, plus the doormen, front desk, concierge, were very helpful, bar drinks -excellent!

“I liked the Tribeca Grand, fun to stay somewhere besides near Broadway. A trendy hotel with excellently trained and helpful staff. Very comfortable beds. If you get lonely they will put a free goldfish in your room or give you a free bike rental to explore the Tribeca area. Plus since all of NY is noisy, they have the white noise machines in the rooms to help reduce the traffic noises. I would stay there again.”

• Beautiful, very clean, we enjoy the revelation with the staff member, nice architecture.
• The noise from the lunge specially on Saturday evening.

“Very nice hotel. A bit eclectic which is nice compared to the cookie cutter chains out there. But, it did not seem as clean and airy as some of those other hotels. Quite artsy and cozy.”

• There was a hurried feel to room service. The staff identified staffing shortages to explain his abrupt interaction.

• Good location, restaurants menu, hotel staff, the bed, all were great.
• Also the shower gets the whole bathroom wet :-(

“Bed was great; decor was trying to be hip & trendy, drab grey carpet, Formica table, wicker basket? Common it's not a garage sale. The Formica table is so 60's, BTW Please mount the flat screen to the wall; otherwise just put a tube TV in. Youre not saving any space putting a flat screen TV on a table. The shower head doesnt go down low enough below your head. Grout line in the bathroom was dirty (poor choice, thats all) not enough exposed outlets in the room; seriously they use up all but 2 for the TV, radio, lights etc. Restaurant was full of people and very friendly atmosphere. I'd come back but wouldnt pay full price.”

“The staff here was extremely good. And the location was great. Great for shopping, not to many eateries. The food menu was over price ex.12 dollars for a cocktail. 10 dollars for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. If your traveling solo this is a great place to socialize without going to far. The lobby is awesome on Saturdays. Cute also on the week days nice after work crowd.”

“It is a very hip hotel, which is noted as such in the Top 10 New York book, which was fun. The concierge was very good. The restaurants, at the hotel and nearby, were all wonderful. The public transportation was right there. Our whole experience at the Tribeca Grand was fantastic!”

• Breakfast is quite expensive.

“Great location. 2 minutes walk from the subway station, 5 minutes walk from Chinatown. The staff at the reception was very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable, although a little bit narrow. The design furniture was not in such a good shape. Amenities include CD player, a selection of music CDs, fax, internet. Breakfast was delicious but quite expensive.”

“Spectacular new "Ian Schraeger Like" hotel with great food, and larger rooms than the Hudson etc. Staff was great, but watch out for the noise! They have noise cancellation systems in every room but perhaps ours wasn't on "high." Overall great room just a tad noisy.”

• We asked for a queen or king bed and got a full size bed for 1.

“Everything was great. While totally adequate, it wasn't the luxury we expected, in a bed for 2. Otherwise, it was a very comfortable stay in a very nicely located part of town. The staff was courteous, helpful and welcoming.”

• The rooms overlook a noisy atrium bar. The maid did not replenish the supplies as needed.

“Overall, a nice place to stay. Good social scene at the bar, though with the usual snooty bartender/service you so often find at the "trendier" places. The rooms are nice, the bed was very comfortable and the room was well stocked. I would stay here again.”

“Stark, stainless steel sinks in the bathroom. Beds on the floor. Rooms use every inch of space kind of like staying in a small cabin on a boat or airplane. Atrium styling is off putting Our brunch was awful. They did take it off the bill though. The staff were helpful and friendly.”

• Thoughtful details, modern design, classy environment, great service.
• Even the Holiday Inn has free wireless internet, charge less or nothing for it.

“I loved the Tribeca Grand Hotel. I plan on staying there for all my future visits to New York. The white noise machines in each room made my stay quite and restful. The Bose wave radio was great to have instead of just settling for the noise of the TV.”

• Amazingly modern, clean, and chic; the staff were very helpful without being snobby
• Nothing was bad; it was really perfect

“If you are looking for a super-chic, super-new and modern, super upscale NYC hotel in an awesome loaction, look no further than the Tribeca Grand. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful; the bar is a chic NYC hotspot in its own right; and I could spend all day in the gorgeous 8-story atrium lobby. It's a perfect 10.”

• Noise level due to trendy hotel bar unacceptable for lower floors.

“Everything about this hotel was perfect, except the noise level from the trendy hotel bar was a little too loud for sound sleeping from midnight - 4pm. I think were we not on the 2nd floor, it might not have bothered us as much. Otherwise excellent hotel, staff was fantastic.”
