• Staff at front desk and in restaurant worked well around short staffing & other problems. Maitre d' and busboy moved us to our preferred table.

“Most service people were very helpful. At dinner, at the 10th floor Grill, our waiter was fine-affable and well-informed about the food and the city. But service was very slow; it appeared they were short on wait people and/or cooks. In the room instructions for video checkout refer to a function on the remote's menu that is not there (so, one call the front desk, and they take care of it but why not update the instructions?). When we were leaving, the parking garage elevator on Arch St. was being repaired, so we had to take our luggage and ourselves a block south, across the street, to get into the parking garage, then walk a block north on the garage's third floor, to get to where we'd parked, so as to be near the elevator.”

“Front desk staff was very nice. The bed was lumpy, the room was clean and comfortable. The pool was small and crowded with screaming pre-teens, but overall the hotel was nice. I just don't understand why high priced hotels do not serve a free breakfast. I need the cleanliness of a high-priced hotel with the free breakfast of a lower priced hotel along with a spectacular indoor swimming pool! Can you help with that?”

• The room was very large for a downtown type hotel.
• The neighborhood immediately surrounding the hotel was scruffy.

“Once you get past the fact that the hotel is built on top of a public parking garage and the front entrance is all but inside the garage itself. The hotel is lovely and everything you would expect from a Hilton Garden Inn.”

“The actual hotel is very nice and it is located in a convenient Center City area, but the streets around the hotel are dark and dreary and there are too many people on the streets just hanging out. I did not feel comfortable walking back to the hotel at night.”

“Overall this hotel is wonderful. The staff offered me a free upgrade because I had to wait for an early check in and they lavished me with attention when I needed it. The restaurant is wonderful. The food is god, but more the fact that they are skilled at providing quality service for business travelers who have limited time. The free internet was a nice change from the pay per use of Embassy Suites in Philly. The neighborhood is ok, though without the Hilton sign, you would never suspect there to be a Hilton in that location. But being from NY, it was no hassle, though some of my associates were a bit confused. The hotel is on the edge of Chinatown which is fun if your urban comfortable. If not, this may not be the place for you. The only real complaint of the property has to do with the Business services office. Like all hotels, they have a small room with a few computers and printers for the use of business travelers, which is a help. But for my time there, when I needed to do a print of some documents, I was unable to do so, as a volume of kids were glued to the terminals playing games. I went back three times, at all times found this to be a hassle and eventually just went to Kinko's. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The ergonomic chairs are nice though I hate how those chairs feel. I am more a regular desk chair person.”

“We arrived around 4:30 PM on a Saturday. There was one customer ahead of us at check-in, but it was a very short wait as they had 3 associates behind the counter. Check-in was quick - the associate ran though the room features, the restaurant hours and the pool/gym hours. When we entered our room, it was freezing cold, but the thermostat was easy to use and it wasn't a problem. The room was comfortable and a decent size, with a small refrigerator and a microwave, which we ended up not using, but appreciated having the option. We checked out Sunday around 11:30 and check-out was quick as well. Parking cost us $25.”

• Directions to the parking garage are confusing. Parking is in the Convention Center Parking Garage. The signs do not indicate hotel parking location.

• It was right in Chinatown so I had a great dim sum at Ocean Harbor on Race Street.
• The traffic was bad around the hotel, but that's not the hotel's fault.

“Do expect to pay $25 for overnight parking with unlimited exit access. Pay at the front desk so you can park until 5pm even after 11am check out. If you pay at the gate, you have to leave by 11am. That is only few dollars more than private parking lots in Downtown.”

• We enjoyed the hotel, they were very accommodating, loved the flat screen TVs.
• Center City Philly was a little rough at night.

“Loved everything about the hotel, by far one of the cleanest and nicest stays ever in the Philly Area. This has nothing to do with the hotel but I just want to note I was surprised by the homeless digging through garbage outside the hotel and reading terminal both of which are just blocks from City Hall. Not liking to see anyone go hungry I gave one man some cash, he stuffed it in his pocket and continued eating from the garbage, guess next time I will offer food rather than beer money. I was out at 10 pm and there was a vagrant passed out with a bottle on the Market St sidewalk and some rowdy crowds were awaiting buses on 11th St. Just never saw this in Center City before and I was a little taken back by what I observed.”

• I liked the short walking distance from the historical sites of Philadelphia.
• I didn't like the $25 fee for parking.

“We had a great stay at the hotel. The hotel is within walking distance from the major sites in Philly, and the staff and rooms were excellent. The only drawback was the parking. You may be better off to find better parking elsewhere in Philly. Otherwise the hotel was great.”

• Convenient location, friendly staff, flat screen TV, easy to access wireless.
• Room was kind of small, preferred later hour to access to fitness room, the parking garage is too expensive ($25).

“It was worth the price. I would stay there again. Don't know if it's family friendly because it's very close to a nightclub and nightlife. Ideal for single travelers who like that type of atmosphere, but the characters around the hotel at night may not be what you want to expose your kids to.”

• Hotel was close to all downtown locations. Close to the food market.
• Hotel is across the street for the Greyhound Bus Depot. Some unsavory individuals waiting outside depot.

• Restaurant buffet very poor.

“This is a nice hotel better than I expected. The location was great as everything was in walking distance. As stated before the bed was very comfortable and the lay out of the room was guest friendly. Staff were very nice. The only area were there is need for improvement is in regard to the buffet breakfast and the service thereof. Overall A- and will stay in that brand name hotel again.”

• The staff is excellent. The service outstanding. The air conditioning works very well.
• The elevators are slow.

“The hotel is located one block from the Pennsylvania Convention Center. The service is five star. The hotel does not charge for additional services like wireless internet. The staff is friendly and responsive. The rooms are very comfortable and well-maintained. The next time I am in Philadelphia, I will stay at the Hilton Garden Center. Philadelphia is a great city, so have fun.”

• Thought I'd be needing a double but my friend backed out. So the hotel upgraded me to a junior suite with a pull out just in case I needed it.
• When I ordered room service the server that brought my food was really rude and unfriendly. That was the only problem I had.

“The Hilton Garden INN was exactly what I was looking for in a hotel. It was close to everywhere I needed to go, easy parking access and comfortable rooms with everything you would ever need right inside. The room service staff could use a few charm lessons on being personable but other than that it was a great experience.”

“What a wonderful experience! We were amazed at the glorious, luxurious rooms and the wonderful, considerate staff. I don't understand why this hotel is only a 3-star hotel. The service and quality that we experienced was deluxe, bordering on luxury. I will definitely consider this hotel for my next trip to Philadelphia.”

• The staff, facilities, room, 10th floor grill, and location were excellent.
• The workout facility and pool could have been a bit larger with more equipment.

“The Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Philadelphia surpassed the expectations of me and the travelers who stayed with me. The restaurant was excellent, the rooms were excellent, and the location was excellent. The staff was also very helpful. No problems whatsoever!”

• I liked the business center, although it was hot in there.
• Elevator broke, spa was cold, front desk didn't have change for laundry.

“I was disappointed with the fact that the business center was extremely hot and had no circulation. The spa was cold, the elevator that goes into the parking garage was broke and the front desk couldn't make change for the laundry (although they recommended me to go across the street to the liquor store and get change from them).”
