• Very nice and clean. Good location.
• The fact that we got locked in our room was such a fire hazard.

“They should take away the computerized deadbolt that locked us in. It is such a fire hazard. It was actually very disturbing. I was requesting they let us through the adjoining room and he said that they couldn't because that room was occupied. It was scary that we just couldn't leave. Again, what a terrible fire hazard. It may sound silly, but, it was a cause for panic. Also two of the three elevators weren't working properly. Otherwise, the hotel was wonderful. It's clean, upscale, and in a wonderful location. I've always been a fan of Westins.”

“Hotel was very nice. We walked to dinner and breakfast. Nice to be downtown. Price was great. We stayed in joining rooms - which was great for our family. Wish there was a pool.”

• Staff was very helpful. Room, and overall hotel were very nice.
• The hotel location was about 12 blocks to the Independence Visitor's Center. There were many homeless people and vacant buildings along the path.

“Overall, the hotel was very lovely and very nice accommodations. It is the type of hotel I prefer to stay at. The only drawback was the immediate neighborhood and the walk to the Independence Visitor's Center. The neighborhood was very run down, with homeless people lying on the ground begging for money, and other various hustlers. The walk from the Visitor's Center to the hotel was not pleasant, however, it was educational for my 12 year old son. I took the opportunity to educate him about why one must graduate from college! My husband, son and I stayed at the hotel.”

• Cleaning staff should watch their language & should restock room supplies (esp. in-room coffee).

• I liked the size of the room and the quality of the facilities.
• There was nothing I actively disliked. I would have liked more easier access to the rooms. Had to switch elevators.

“This is nice, clean hotel with nice facilities and nice public areas. You do need to switch elevators and weave through several areas to get to the room elevators. This hotel worked well for me.”

• Location had me face to face with many pan handlers.

• Old World Style with Modern convenience and amenities.
• Cost of parking.

“This Westin used to be the Ritz Carlton. The location is central to Rittenhouse Square, the Arts, Historical Sites, and about a 5 minute walk to the convention center. The Philly Plash stops is right there, and you can walk everywhere. Lots of upscale dining and shopping right there. This hotel is truly a 5-star experience. The staff treated me like a star.”

“The Westin has a very friendly staff. It is mostly a business hotel, but on the weekends we have stayed her with good success. Very clean and also quiet. Always happy to stay at the Westin Philadelphia. Only negative, valet parking is $42 a night. Self park is less and there are other garages in the neighborhood.”

• The staff was very friendly. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable.
• The extra charges for conveniences such as coffee were a bit pricey. Valet pricing was extremely expensive for each night even if only parked once.

“The hotel was gorgeous. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for visiting downtown Philadelphia. My only complaint was some of the extra charges in the room for anything extra and the valet parking was very expensive. The rate of $42 had to be paid each night the car was parked, regardless of whether it was taken out for the day or left in the garage the entire time.”

“Upscale hotel in a great location connected to liberty place. Parking is expensive about $30 a day. Rooms are nicely decorated. Since it is connected to liberty place, the lobby is on the 2nd floor, which is a little strange and not easy to get too.”

“Front desk service was excellent as we were allowed to check in early at 12:30. Room location was great, not too far from the elevator. Lobby area was comfortable. It appears to be a great location for a business conference. Entrance to hotel is on 17 St no Market. Plash bus stops across the street from the hotel. Trolley-style bus stops at 20 tourist locations in the city. An all-day pass is $5. Enjoyable time at the Westin.”

“Very comfortable and clean room with all the amenities you'd expect. Excellent concierge service directed us to two fantastic restaurants that we wouldn't have found on our own. Hotel has connection to a large upscale mall. It is in a business area with the best restaurants.”

• My housekeeper often overlooked us, forgetting clean towels, coffee, creamer, etc.

• Beautiful, comfortable accommodations.
• Clerk at check in seemed like he was annoyed and somewhat of a jerk.

“Visited Philly for the first time for two nights. Hotel was beautiful and quiet and the bed was amazingly comfortable. Had a drink and some appetizers in the lounge. Food was excellent. Bartender was very attentive and helpful. This hotel is located in the city center and was very easy to get to and from. It has a parking garage attached to it as well as the Shops at Liberty Place shopping center. Not far from the historic district. My only source of irritation was the clerk at check in. Seem annoyed that I was an hour early and a bit rude. Aside from that I had a great experience. I would definitely stay at the Westin Philadelphia again.”

• Homeless people were outside at night.

“Outstanding Westin hotel in great location for shopping, dining and business. Wonderful staff with great cheerful attitudes. Bed was a dream with pillow top and luxury linens. Bathroom was heaven itself with much marble, beautiful towels and toiletries. Great experience !”

“Continental breakfast of muffins and juice costs $15.00. Parking is $42.00. Pity poor you if you drink from the fridge in the room or order room service.”

“The staff was helpful and courteous throughout our stay. Our room was on the 12th floor over looking the smaller Liberty Place building (referred to as Two Liberty Place) and the Shops at Liberty Place. The hotel has 15 floors. The central location allows one to walk to many of the sites Philly has to offer. The room itself was perfect. Pleasant decor, typical Westin king bed and an immaculate marble bathroom. My only minor complaint is with the television. Only HBO came in HD, and the signal was spotty at times. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before this Westin expands their HD lineup. We did order room service from the limited late night menu. The turkey wraps were very good, even though they were $14 each. The internet service was $13 and change for 24 hours, so I opted not to use it. The gym more than served its purpose, also being spotless. Not an abundance of weight machines, but just enough to get in a workout.”

• It is classically beautiful and very clean.
• I would have preferred a pool and the parking was very expensive!

“This is a beautiful hotel in the center of the business district. The area feels safe. The views are grand. The hotel feels sedate and dignified. The staff is most attentive and helpful. It was a fantastic value and I would love to stay there again. Highly recommended.”

“The hotel was centrally located to many restaurants and shopping. Public transportation to many of the city's historical sites and museums was located across the street. We felt very secure because you needed a room card to use the elevator. The lobby and rooms were tastefully decorated. The room service was fast, friendly and delicious. The only thing missing from our experience was a pool for the kids.”

“The Westin was a beautiful hotel. It was close to everything in Philly and very easy to find. The only drawback was that the parking, whether valet or the garage next door was extremely expensive. For the two nights that we were there, it cost almost as much as one night in the hotel. But the room service made it a little better.”

• When I die, I hope it I rest forever after in a Westin bed.
• If you have a car, parking will cost you.

“Very nice location in the heart of business and historic Philadelphia. We actually used it as a place to travel to New Jersey and it was easy to leave the city from the hotel. The room is very nice. The bed is unbelievably comfortable. Even my wife who always gets up at 7am slept to 11am!”

• The ambience was relaxing, the location was perfect and the staff were friendly.
• Parking at the hotel was expensive. Almost $30/day for self park and more for valet.

“The hotel was well kept and clean. The moment you walk in you can tell they took time to create a relaxing atmosphere. No smoking is allowed. The rooms were spacious and the bed was so comfortable. The location is in Center City and convenient to shops and other amenities. Their gym, though small had TV at each treadmill and a Sauna in the locker room. Again, it was clean.”
