“The hotel and staff are impeccable. Every detail has been considered; from curbside valet and door men to the orchids in the entryway, to natural soaps and lotions. This downtown location is walking distance from many business and cultural locations. I will definitely return!”

- The staff was fantastic. Friendly, courteous and amazingly helpful.
- After seeing the lobby of this hotel, I was a bit disappointed with the look of my room.
“Amazing location right by the bridge to the Pirates ball field. The other direction is the heart of the city, both within easy walking distance. Being unsure what to expect, all concerns were immediately gone after seeing the beautiful lobby and the friendly smiles of the front desk staff. Will definitely recommend this hotel.”

- The front desk person was incredibly rude.

- The staff was quite friendly also the hotel was filled with beautiful antique architecture.
- The only parking available was located in a parking garage across the street. Unsure if parking would be available there if a busy time.

“This was a great hotel and a wonderful value for the price. The location was excellent, right next to the river in the heart of downtown. - Not a better location in Pittsburgh.
- The lobby was used as a dining room, food smells upon walking into the lobby and not a place to sit and rest.
“The hotel is beautiful with a staff that is attentive and friendly. Many rooms have views of the airshaft and thus are dark and gloomy. The lobby is not a lobby but a dining room thus reducing public areas.”

- It's a gorgeous hotel.
- The view from my room was the brick wall of the next building - about 5 feet away.

“Beautiful hotel along the river with extremely friendly staff. Watch out for the valet parking however as the only pitfall of this well polished jem is that the valet does not communicate that the $25 parking fee is per night. Ooch! Do not miss the dragons and just park your own car!”

- Did not accommodate one thing we asked for.
“This was one of the worst hotels I have stayed at. I was up with my children until 12:30 am, trying to make sleeping arrangements for myself and our friends, even though we checked in at 5:00 pm. The hotel lied and said they would take care of things, but never did. It was an exhausting trip because of that and never did enjoy the hotel because there were so many issues to take care of. I called hotel directly after and said they would accommodate most requests. I thought you would like to know that.”

- The Renaissance is luxury and beauty all the way.
- There was no valet or bellman around at my check in.

- Lack of outlets in room, lighting and horrible odor from outdoors in lobby.
“We enjoyed our stay very much. The service was impeccable. They were more than willing to help with nay of our needs, including car service and extra toiletries. Our only complaint was the horrible odor from outside the main entrance that seeped into the hotel. Everybody was complaining. Other than that-it was excellent and we will be returning.”

- The general hotel staff was very friendly; hotel location fabulous, I went to the symphony Saturday night.
- Restaurant food was not very good and the server was very rude; I've stayed at this hotel several times before and restaurant is never good.

- The pianist in the lobby when we arrived was very nice.
- The lobby desk did not answer the phone on several attempts at 12am for a wake up call.

“The Renaissance was luxurious at an affordable price. The location was great - right in Pittsburgh's cultural district, so close to theaters and restaurants. The hotel appeared simplistic, yet all amenities were available (health club, restaurants, etc). There was subtleness to the luxury provided.”

- No negative experience in the least bit.

- I liked the responsiveness of the staff, the atmosphere, the bed was comfortable.
- The drinking glasses in the room were not clean. The television in the room could've been never/larger.
“The staff was friendly, helpful and responsive. The location was ideal for our needs; we were able to walk to various places from the hotel with great suggestions from the literature in the hotel room. The room was clean for the most part. The only problem we had was with the drinking glasses that weren't clean. The room was comfortable with a great view of the river. The hotel should think about offering parking with in and out privileges but we were able to find on the street parking and cheaper rates at other downtown garages. Ultimately we were satisfied with our overall experience and would consider staying again.”
