• The hotel is connected to the Riverside shopping building and has great workout facilities and two outdoor pools.
• The breakfast buffet was not worth the price and disorganized.

• Great location to downtown New Orleans.
• There was nothing free like breakfast or wireless internet and prices were high for other things.

“This hotel was clean and in a great location for safety and walking the downtown Orleans/French Quarter/Bourbon Street areas. In fact I took a train to New Orleans and walked from the station to the hotel in less than 11 minutes. I would recommend the hotel to others but have to admit that I was a little surprised that the hotel did not offer creature comforts like a free continental breakfast or free wireless internet. The hotel actually charged for about everything and the prices were steep (i.e. bowl of cereal $7, yogurt and piece of fruit $13, you get the idea).”

• A bit of a walk to the French quarter, but is closer to warehouse district etc.

“The Hilton was nice. The rooms clean and very close to the aquarium. The parking was a bit expensive. The Riverwalk mall closed early and so did anyplace to get food outside of the hotel.”

• The views and the spaciousness of the room. The beds were also very comfy.
• The self parking was quite a hike.

“The hotel is located in a great area, not far from the French Quarter, right behind Riverwalk and you can catch the street car all the way into the French Quarter for $1.25. The rooms were big and comfy and very clean. The beds were also very comfortable and we had a river view which was very nice. Would definitely stay here again.”

• The amenities reminded me of my home, and I felt at home living there for a night.
• The TV was having a problem with the audio on some of the stations.

“The hotel and staff were nice. I didn't expect to have to pay for wireless internet most hotels supply free wireless. The parking garage could have closer more open exits. But over all its a nice hotel.”

• Large, comfortable & clean rooms; extremely friendly & helpful staff; very convenient location.
• Problem with vending machines (wrong drink, sold out, didn't take dollars) - but hotel staff was quick to remedy.

“Very impressed with the hotel. I live only 45 minutes from NO. and have stayed at many area hotels over the years and this is one of the best. The hotel is very convenient to Harrah's, the Convention Center & the French Quarter and is in a safe, well-lit area. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in a room with 2 double beds and it was very spacious, clean, and quiet and the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.”

• Wonderful grand old hotel in very good shape with lovely rooms.
• They lost my auto for about 45 minutes the first day.

“Very quiet, elegant hotel with warm and inviting rooms, the Hilton St. Charles is relaxing and refreshing. The restaurant is surprisingly good, and the activity in the French Quarter, while just 4 blocks away, is removed visually and audibly. A terrific place to stay.”

“There is no mention of the $31 parking fee and there is no mention of the $15 internet fee. This really ruined my visit.”

“The Hilton Riverside's location was great in proximity to Harrah's Casino, Riverwalk, and Decatur Street. I enjoyed every minute of my stay. I certainly will reccommend these others.”

• Could hear the trains at night.

“We had a great time. This hotel was close to everything and there was a street car stop right outside the front door if we needed to get anywhere else. The room was clean and not too noisy considering it was New Orleans and the shower in the room was great.”

“The room they gave us when we arrived was in the riverside building of the hotel. The room was old and in need of renovation, with stains on the rugs. However, we complained and they moved us to a luxury room in the main tower of the hotel which was very nice.”

“Wow! This is a large, deluxe hotel right on the river. My room was small, but comfortable and clean. I had a grand view of the river. The hotel was quiet and well maintained. Staff was cordial and helpful.”

“Hilton Hotel is in a prime location. A street car stop is at the front door and you can easily walk to the French Quarter, the Riverwalk and take the street car to the best parts of New Orleans. I rode the street car to Jazzfest, only a few blocks from the end of the street car line. I also road the street car to the Garden District, requires one easy change. The room had a marvelous view of the Mississippi River. I was treated the same as any other hotel guest. I asked for a river view and got it. Highly recommended!”

• Carpet is old and dirty. Gross.

“Great lobby, common areas, etc. It appears they have two hotels in one. An old hotel on the river side and a new, bigger, newer one on the street side. I would have been very unhappy with this room. The plumbing is very old and worn out, and the carpet is nasty. I wore my sandals most of the time in the room!”

I was put in a handicapped room and every time I took a shower the floor would flood into the room all over the tile floors. There wasn't a trash can in my room and I asked for one 3 times and one wasn't sent until hours later.”

“My husband has recommend Intercontinental instead of Hilton, we think it is very good. But turn out to be a clumsy room, no refrigerator, broken toilet seat, old shower, TV doesn't work so good, 2 chairs in the room was very uncomfortable. How can this hotel room more expensive than Intercontinental?”

• The executive floor staff were helpful.
• The last day the room didn't get cleaned until we asked at 5:30.

“Convenient location and nice enough rooms. The staff at the main check-in could be a little snippy. I asked for stamps and it appeared to be a big deal and took two trips. Especially when I asked to have them mailed, the response was I will, however the mail box is by the concierge desk. Why shouldn't stamps and mail box be on the same floor in the same area?”

• The service staff in Drago's was not to the level of dining as I had assumed they should be.

“The proximity of Hilton Riverside is great, close enough to the children's activities, quarter, and record store shows for all of us to have our fill of shopping, relaxing, and fun. Highly recommended for all type of travelers. The best way to end the day is falling into these fabulous beds.”

• River views. Location near French Quarter and on the trolley line.
• If you are on a lower floor, you might hear the train.

“Great location, friendly staff and reasonable rates. The river view rooms offer a great view of the Mississippi. The casino is across the street. If you want to explore the French Quarter, it's only a couple of blocks away. And the location is on two trolley lines, so getting around from here is easy.”

• Worn out rooms, carpet is nasty. Plumbing is very old and dated.

• Close to French Quarter and Cruise Ship port (walking distance).
• There is a cost to use the fitness area.

“My wife and I stayed at the Hilton Riverside for a couple days before we went on our cruise. We were pleased at how nice the room was, we had a great view of downtown. We walked to the French Quarter twice and were able to walk to the Cruise ship port. There is a river walk mall connected to the hotel, and is indoors which was great to get souvenirs. Plenty of restaurants and very clean looking.”
