“Overall, the hotel was awesome and very attractive. Parking was a bit steep, but from what I hear is the same all around the French Quarter. I would highly recommend the Omni for your next vacation.”

“They gave me the last room of a very long hall, a floor they were working on other rooms. I arrived at 13:00 and had to wait until 16:00 to get my room. Staff was not nice.”

• I loved the historical architect of the omni; high ceilings, wrought iron work, balcony, but mainly the location.
• Not being able to cool the room down to a comfortable temp. The humidity in New Orleans is too oppressive for a setting that does not go below 67 degrees.

“I was truly very pleased with the hotel. It had everything I love in a hotel in an historic city; high ceilings, wrought iron work, balconies. The location could not have been any better! Right in the French quarter, but off to the side enough where you would not be woken from the street noise. The only negative was not being able to cool the room down below 67 degrees, and in a city where the humidity is so oppressive, the rooms should be able to be cooled more if need be.”

“Loved the hotel. You can walk right outside and be in the heart of the French quarter. Great pool with a view on the rooftop. Nice gym. Room was a little small, and had a full/or queen? Which I shared with my 10 yr old. There were French doors that opened to the outside with a small table, which was a nice surprise. Very classic lobby. Room was clean, service good.”

• The location was great.
• Rooms are very small and congested.

“The best feature of this property is its location. The front desk staff is not personable/friendly, just check in/check out. Support staff served much more friendly (valet and bell staff). If I had a choice, I would not choose this hotel again due to the rooms being a little larger than the average size of most 4 star bathrooms. Perhaps if the staff were friendlier it would be easier to overlook the small room issue, but if I have a choice I would not choose this property.”

• The staff was very friendly and attentive towards us and our needs.
• Did not have the bed accommodations that we requested after making the reservation and calling them direct.

• Lovely accommodations.
• They did not want to guarantee me a non smoking room. But did, when I told them it was for medical reasons.

“This was a beautiful hotel. We had a super room with a great room. But they asked a big rate for parking! The staff was very friendly and helpful. But when I called to request a non smoking room, they informed me that they could not guarantee that I would get such a room. I have asthma and related this fact to them and they did give me the desired room.”

“Lovely hotel, with a great location. Close to everything, yet quiet and very safe. The hotel is nicely furnished and the lobby bar is quite friendly. The observation deck and pool are a wonderful way to relax and see the city.”

• Pool area and pool area bar are an excellent place to just relax.
• Assigned room and the bathroom, in particular, were very small.

“Nice hotel in French quarter. As expected, the room was nicely furnished, comfortable bed, etc. However, my room and the bathroom, in particular, were very small. As the room was located away from the street sides of the building it had no view resulting in a bit of cave like feel. The restaurant (rib room) kitchen has apparently been upgraded and is now frequented by locals. The top floor pool area and pool area bar are very nice places to relax. However, while the bar staff were very friendly and attentive, the pool area bar is very limited and closes at 07:00 pm - definitely an untapped asset. The exercise room was adequate and well maintained. Watch out for the valet parking at $36/day. Overall a decent stay for the price.”

• Poor desk service, loud corridors and thin walls.

“Very elegant hotel with great service, for the most part. The concierge and the bellmen were very helpful. Our room was cleaned up nicely and the coffee was restocked. (I thought they might not notice) my wife and I had a minor problem with the desk staff. They seemed to be very inattentive and carried on a cover station when we were trying to get something resolved. We eventually got what we needed but it was a bit frustrating. The rooms are very nice decently decorated. The bathrooms are indeed very small. I read this on numerous on-line reviews and it is true. But, my wife and I adjusted and it wasn't an issue for us. Everything in the quarter is a short walk away and the noise of bourbon street is two blocks up so your nights can be quiet if you wish...”

• I really like the location of this hotel it was perfect for what I had planned for the weekend.
• The cleaning people bothered me several times I had to get out of bed five times to answer the door.

“I really liked the hotel and the staff but they over a nightly turn down service. After the cleaning woman knocked on the door three different times who could not speak English. I finally called the front desk and they sent a manager up. I gladly told her that I would like my room cleaned to come about seven thirty. That would have been after me and my wife was gone for dinner and the night. When I returned the room was not cleaned and no towels were replaced. I had too called for more in the morning.”

• The location was wonderful, facilities were gorgeous. Rooms are small, but luxurious, as you would expect from a historic hotel.
• Maids didn't restock coffee in the room¿

• The room was small and cramped. The bathroom ridiculously small with only 1 towel!

“This hotel does not deserve a 4 star rating. The room was small; the bathroom was tiny and not stocked with towels. I got this room for half the list price and felt ripped off. Lower your expectations if you want to stay here. What makes it worse is that I am a local. My wife and I stay in town occasionally when we want a night away from the kids but this hotel is off the list.”

“My husband and I stayed the night so that we could be in new Orleans for a function early the next morning. The hotel looked grand but when we got to our room it was incredibly small, as was the closet and bathroom. There was no room to maneuver. However, the bed was comfortable, the room was quiet and I slept well. My husband barked because I wanted a snack and he had to go outside and across the parking lot just to find a vending machine. Why there wasn't something offered on each floor, I can't guess.”

“I don't know if they have other larger rooms but, our room was very small. And, the bathroom was small, too. We had requested a king size bed and I called the hotel right after the reservation was made. She told me she did not have one at the time but that when we checked in to ask and they would check then. So, I asked, and the hotel manager came over and said I can give you a king but I'll have to charge you more. I thought that was rude!!! So, I just stayed with the queen. The location was great. In walking distance to everything we wanted to see. Parking was extra. The parking guys were the nicest.”

“The Omni is probably one of the nicer hotels to stay in the French Quarter of New Orleans. They had helpful front desk staff and restaurant/bar staff. The lobby, pool and restaurant areas are excellent. Unfortunately, their bell and valet staff were quite unfriendly and made comments about tips they received within ear range of customers, on purpose, which I found was very unprofessional and rude. Rooms were very small for the price and even the coffee in the room! I'm surprised they didn't charge for soap. Prepare to spend when staying here. I would recommend this as a borderline three/four star hotel.”

“Omni Royal Orleans is located in a great place, lots of marble, staff walk around with smiles and are very polite and eager to please. The rooms are very comfortable, quiet, clean and cool. I wish I could have spent more time at the pool because it is luxurious. They are next door to the Napoleon House, a great old place to drink wine and watch the world go round, and also a close from Bourbon Street, which I try to avoid.”

• The decor and location were exceptionally nice.
• Mediocre bed and parking and other basic amenities cost too much.

“Overall, the Omni Royal Orleans was a nice experience. The hotel has a fantastic location and the decor inside is gorgeous. The bedding left a lot to be desired and the extra cost of wireless Internet is a strike against the hotel for the business traveler. Parking rates are somewhat above comparably located hotels, and some basic amenities come with an "incidental" charge. To sum it up, you can probably find a better value for your travel dollar in New Orleans.”

• Most of the employees were very helpful & friendly.
• We were assigned a room with 2 twin beds to start with. Then finally after arguing with the staff were moved to a room with 2 double beds for 4 people.

“I don't know if it was the hotel's mix up or Price-line in not arranging for us to have 2 queen beds. The rooms were very clean, bath small. The staff (other than the front-desk) were extremely friendly.”
