• Its close to bourbon street.
• Staff was rude.

“The "suite" was ok, but the cleaning crew did not do a very good job. Basically just made the bed and took out the trash. The staff as a whole was rude and unhelpful. The fully armed security guard in particular was insulting and obnoxious. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• The service, the $30 surprise parking fees.

“The staff at this hotel was rude and not helpful at all with problems. I was treated like if I was one of many travelers to the hotel, where my particular problems were of no interest to them because behind me was another traveler ready to pay $200 a night for a room. The rooms were very noisy. They force room service on you, even when you tell them you don't want anyone coming in the room, they ignore your request and come in.”

• The hotel is in an extremely convenient location if the French Quarter is your destination.
• This hotel is a glorified Holiday Inn. Don't expect the Ritz, and you'll be happy.

“For the amount of time we spent in the room, this hotel was perfect. We needed a place to stay after a night on Bourbon, and the location of the hotel was ideal. Due to availability, I was given a smoking room, and much to my surprise, I couldn't tell. There was a nice balcony off of the room (three rooms shared the one balcony, so make sure you lock the doors when you leave) which I assumed lured smokers outside. Overall, a good experience.”

• Room was not what I expected. It was not worth the money.

“The location was nice because it was so close to Bourbon. The room, however, was not what I expected. I was told that my suite had a king size bed and a sofa bed. Later that night when it was time to go to bed I found out that the sofa bed was just a sofa. Needless to say, someone had to sleep on the floor. I asked for and was also told that I had a non smoking room but quickly realized it was in fact a smoking room as soon as I entered the room. We also had no hot water.”

• It was in a perfect location for what I wanted to do and that was have a good time. It was one block from Bourbon Street.
• I had to park in a garage that was about 2 miles from the hotel and I had to pay for this parking.

“I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The overall scene was nice. I was one block from Bourbon street and that was what I came to new Orleans for.”

“Excellent location to the "seedier" part of bourbon street with the convenience of location to other new Orleans hotspots for entertainment. Would not suggest it for a family get away if touring new Orleans, as children would likely see things they shouldn't in that part of town. Overall, hotel looked much classier from the outside than it actually was on the inside. There is a sweet, romantic courtyard for those who enjoy such things, though it doesn't have much of a view. It is surrounded by tall buildings on all sides.”

• The location was excellent for us.
• We were forced to take a smoking room, which resulted in much unpleasantness.

“The hotel itself is pretty nice. The bathroom appeared worn and somewhat dirty, and our bed sheets were so tight that we could barely roll over in our sleep. The smoking issue is what really broke the deal for me. I have severe asthma and a mere whiff of smoke is sometimes all it takes for me to have an attack. The front desk clerk was unhelpful and quite rude. The people in the room adjacent to ours smoked quite frequently, and I am still having coughing fits 4 days later. The location was great for us, but I don't anticipate ever staying there again.”

“After checking in and getting to the room the bathroom light did not work. Called the front desk and was told they would send maintenance up. After about an hour I called the front desk and they said our room was added to a list and that it should be about an hour. I canceled the maintenance order and used a lamp in the room. The next evening the bulb in the lamp burned out and I replaced it with one from the bedside table. I did mention it to the front desk on check out and hopefully they got around to replacing the bulbs. We checked in on Friday night about 9p and did not want to waste the rest of the evening waiting on maintenance that may never show up.”

• No restaurant is my only dislike but it is because of Katrina.

“This was a great hotel! My husband and I were in New Orleans for our honeymoon. They upgraded us to a complimentary suite and were more than willing to help in finding restaurants and tours. It is in a prime location and they staff there will assist in acquiring cabs! I was so impressed with the staff and their cheerfulness! When we visit New Orleans, we will be staying here again! It is also in a very convenient location. Easy walking distance to aquarium, Imax and the French Quarter! The staff also helped my husband arrange candles and flowers in the room as a surprise! This experience was a 10!”

• Breakfast didn't start up early enough---went in there at 8:00 and couldn't find a waitress!

“I'd go back. Thought the $28 for the (required) valet parking was a bit excessive, though not totally out of line with the other hotels in the area. Although very old, it has been appropriately and attractively updated and has a lot of historical charm like the rest of the quarter.”

• The staff was rude.

“Check in was at 4:00 PM, but our room was not ready until almost 5:00 PM. When we got to our room it was a smoking room that had absolutely no view. We looked out of the window at a wall and a sliver of a nice courtyard that we could hardly see. Reservation clerk was rude. The location in the French Quarter was good. The bed was comfy, bathroom a little dated.”

• It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. It was also located in a great spot.
• There really wasn't anything I disliked at all although I think more hotels should have the pool and reek areas open 24 hrs.

“This hotel was located in a relatively quiet area; although only one block away from all of the excitement that bourbon street has to offer. The staff was courteous and friendly and our room overlooked a beautiful courtyard with a swimming pool.”
