“Everything was great. Our room was nice but we had a view of a fire escape and the back of a building, not quit what I was looking for. We were also charged a lot for valet parking when we did not park a full 48 hours.” Jul 14, 2008 by
Duffy from Oxford, MS
“Good location, price, and staff. Hotel needs renovation.” Jul 7, 2008 by
Gina from Scottsboro, AL
“The only complaint I can think of is a lack of assistance with bags at check in. Valet parking attendants took up to 45 minutes to deliver my car, once when bringing the car their were two young men in the car, one driving and one talking on a cell phone. My glove box, console and ashtray had been disturbed, but fortunately nothing of value was left in the vehicle. The front desk staff stated they were in negotiations with a different valet company.” Jun 29, 2008 by
Sheree from Granite City, IL
“All staff members I encountered were knowledgeable, helpful, and exceptionally friendly. All room appointments were tasteful and comfortable. The hotel provided safe, easy access to both the River walk area and the French Quarter. I highly recommend it other travelers.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Gus from Missouri City, TX
“Nice, clean, but no room service and the restaurant was closed for a private party.” Jun 3, 2008 by
Cheryl from Santa Rosa, CA
“The location is central to all I wanted, such as conference, shopping, river front and museums. The main fault I had with my room was that toiletries were not restocked daily, I had to ask at main desk for soap and creamer, coffee cups had only a cursory rinse and floors in my room were not vacuumed each day.” Jun 1, 2008 by
Lizz from Wimberley, TX
“Charming old historic hotel that was an elegant bank building in its former life; now authentically and lovingly restored. Staff at this boutique hotel very accommodating and friendly, but no room service available. Room was clean and tastefully decorated. Valet staff cleaned our car out after our one night stay.” May 30, 2008 by
James from Columbus, MS
“Beautifully furnished. Clean. Friendly staff. Convenient.” May 28, 2008 by
Mrtfr8@Yahoo.Com from Houston, TX
“The hotel was supposed to be a quality boutique - it wasn't. The beds were spring mattresses that had been worn. The bedspreads and sheets were of much worn quality and possessed nothing outstanding about them. At night, be very aware of what is going on because the hotel doesnt have a door staff and often no one is at the front desk.” May 27, 2008 by
Orin from New Iberia, LA
“Overall experience was nice, good location, has a history to the hotel, which is always nice, one of the front desk clerks was very unhelpful, but the rest of the staff was very helpful.” May 27, 2008 by
Chris from Burleson, TX
“We had a great experience.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Tony from Highland Village, TX
“Nice hotel, good location to French Quarter. Clean rooms and attentive staff.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Jason from Mandeville, LA
“Once you find the way in, you are greeted with a magnificent historical bank building. The hotel restaurant includes a table in the enormous vault of the former Whitney bank. The rooms are beautifully outfitted, though strangely laid out to fit the building. Don't expect to see much out of the windows. It is situated in the heart of the legal and business community of New Orleans. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is my number one choice for business travel to that part of New Orleans.” Apr 29, 2008 by
Mindy from Washington, DC
“The common areas of the hotel were interesting. Most of the staff was helpful, and the room was comfortable and safe. The location is fantastic with easy access to the French Quarter, St. Charles Avenue Streetcars, the CBD and the Warehouse District. The visit started out rough. I was given a huge room with 2 smaller beds and, when I requested a room with a single bed, I was given a tiny room and told I could change the next day to a larger one (when my companion arrived). The next day, when I went to change rooms, it was clear that the manager wanted me to stay in the small room which had no light from outside (I checked in at night so did not notice) and was so small that it was difficult to walk around the queen-sized bed. When I got upset, she was able to come up with a room with a king bed that was twice the size of the original. The room was fine, if a bit noisy. The heating and cooling was not great and the room was often too cool or too hot. There was no ventilation in the bathroom so showers made the whole room humid. Our amenities (soap, shampoo, conditioner, drinking water) were never replenished in the four days we were there. The "fitness" facility was minimal a recumbent bicycle, a stair climber and an out-of-order treadmill along with a universal gym. They did provide towels and water though.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Miriam from Santa Maria, CA
“Overall we had a great stay. Pros: The room looked very modern in style. No musty smell, room was very clean, maids cleaned the room daily. Gorgeous bathroom with complimentary toiletries. Toilet had a powerful flush. The shower was ample in space, you didn't have to wait for hot water, and the shower head dispensed water evenly with force. Cons: The comforter looked like it has aged somewhat and the beds were a bit small for two adult people to sleep in at one time. Staff appeared to be gone longer then what the sign stated at the front desk. We had trouble finding staff when we were looking for valet service. Parking was $28 a day through the hotel.” Apr 14, 2008 by
Tom from Delray Beach, FL
“Staff was indifferent. My traveling companions ended up in a windowless room. My room was unclean. The bedspread was worn and old as were most of the towels. An outdated computer with an inkless printer in the lobby does not make for a business center.” Apr 8, 2008 by
Carrie from Apopka, FL
“The hotel was in walking distance to everything. Parking is expensive but so are all the other hotels. The surprising thing was how cheap and efficient the hotel dinner was, not fine dining but good for breakfast and lunch.” Apr 5, 2008 by
Lh from Shreveport, LA
“This hotel was in a great location, not being able to get the 2-double non-smoking beds.” Apr 4, 2008 by
Robert from Torrance, CA
“This was a cute hotel; the rooms were nice but small. The staff was very helpful. The location within New Orleans was very convenient. Easy to walk to Downtown and easy to get on the streetcar to explore the rest of New Orleans.” Mar 27, 2008 by
Mare from Kansas City, MO
“Very nice place to stay. Close to everything.” Mar 26, 2008 by
John from Champaign, IL
“It's neat. However, my room was not so large.” Mar 18, 2008 by
Michael from Fort Meade, FL
“Very friendly staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and welcomed.” Mar 14, 2008 by
Barb from Silver Spring, MD
“We enjoyed our stay because of the convenience and beauty of this old building. The staff was somewhat inconsistent, and though we did end up with a lovely nonsmoking room, we were originally told we'd have to take a smoking one. The hotel charges $1 for any call--even 800 numbers, and had no available pay phones or computer for use. But the restaurant inside was great for breakfast, and the coffee maker brewed a good cup.” Mar 13, 2008 by
Chris from Birmingham, AL
“Extremely relaxing, beautiful, quiet and great location.” Mar 11, 2008 by
Jeff from Richmond, TX
“One day they took 30 minutes to deliver my car from valet parking. They then generously credited a day back when I checked out. The staff were generally very friendly. Excellent. The hotel is walking distance to the convention center, French Quarter and the River walk. I would stay there again.” Mar 5, 2008 by
Sonya from Mclain, MS
“This was a bad experience. I booked a room with 2 double beds for 3 people. When we got to our room it was a one double bed room. When I went to the front to try to get them to take care of the problem, the woman at the desk was rude and told me we were never guarantied two beds. She said no 2 bed rooms were available and we would have to pay extra for a suite. After paying extra for the suite, we got to the room and found that items that should have been there were missing. We reported it, but nothing was done. I am very disappointed in this place. I do not recommend anyone staying at the Whitney Windham New Orleans.” Mar 1, 2008 by
Wanda from Lake Charles, LA
“I will never stay in this hotel again. The front desk clerk was very rude. She made it seem as if I was bothering her by checking into the hotel. Other guest made the same comment about the desk clerk. The gentlemen that should have helped us bring our bags to the room simply watched us as we unloaded our luggage ourselves and as we carried them to our rooms. I guess he must have been on a break. When I asked the desk clerk about parking she said "You can park it yourself." When I asked where the parking lot was she stated " Park on the street or pay $28.00. After you get the luggage out yourself leave me the keys." That was the beginning of a memorable stay. The next day we returned to the room to find that the housekeeper hadn't cleaned the bathroom. She simply removed the used towels. She didn't clean the sink or the bath tub. The housekeeper did make the bed but she didn't put the pillows back on the bed. She left them on the couch in the room.” Feb 28, 2008 by
Scott E. from Covington, LA
“Charming use of bank's architectural elements. Public areas cramped. Room was OK & bathroom nice. After being advised upon check-in that it would take 15 minutes notice to retrieve car from garage, we were told upon checkout that it would take 45 minutes. We took a walk and returned; the car did not come to us for another 30 minutes.” Feb 27, 2008 by
Jimmy from Friendswood, TX
“Sweet.” Feb 26, 2008 by
Tammy from Springfield, MO
“Loved the historical features of the hotel. But did not love the thin pane windows allowing a lot of noise into the room.” Feb 23, 2008 by
Nancy from Clinton, MS
“Blah! No character! Worn bedspreads! Parking $38.00 per night!” Feb 23, 2008 by
Scott from Ponchatoula, LA
“Overall an interesting experience. Very close to some of the more popular streets in town. We enjoyed our stay, but did not get a good sleep.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Nykiah from Atlanta, GA
“This hotel was not 4 star. The staff was not friendly. They told us the parking for the hotel was 3 blocks away. The staff told us to leave our bags at the parking garage and walk 3 blocks back to the hotel with our luggage. They did not clean the rooms properly. Garbage was overflowing and they did not leave toilet tissue when it was done. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Lindsey from Houston, TX
“Hotel was okay. They provided good service but not great service. For example on Sunday morning around 8am, I attempted to call guest service and no one answered after the phone rung for a very long time. The shower did not work properly. Also, it defeats the purpose to put me in a non-smoking room when the room next door is smoking and smoke comes through the vents. I was mainly disappointed in the smoking.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Kelvin from Baltimore, MD
“Its ok if u only plan on staying there for 5 hrs sleeping and showering. It was an old bank and has no real lobby no room service, terrible restaurant.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Elma from Eunice, LA
“The hotel was located very close to the French Quarters and it is a nice hotel. Not the best 3 star hotel I've stayed in but decent the only problem we had was the house keeping took forever and the restaurant in the lobby was not good.” Feb 14, 2008 by
Cathy from Springfieldgdnsqueensny, NY
“The hotel was excellent I told my friends about it. And thank you for friendliness.” Feb 13, 2008 by
Rafael from Miami, FL
“I do not understand I get the hotel for a good price then they charge me an extra money in order to get a non smoking room, or to get a double bed room, when I my wife with my children, how they expect a two adult and two children in one bed.” Feb 13, 2008 by
Damon from Port Allen, LA
“Overall I was very pleased with the hotel. Great location within walking distance of the French Quarter, River walk, and all the river front attractions. Superdome only a few blocks away. Easy access to the street cars. The Restaurant was only open on Sunday for a jazz brunch for the weekend that we stayed. We did not try it. I didn't use my car at all the entire weekend we were there.” Feb 12, 2008 by
Lisa from Lake Arthur, LA
“Good hotel and a good value. Great front desk service.” Feb 1, 2008 by
Richard from Holly Lake Ranch, TX
“It was a great place to spend a couple of days before our cruise.” Jan 31, 2008 by
Tami from Webster Groves, MO
“Great location in proximity to the French Quarter; unique historic features were beautiful; restaurant looked good but did not eat there; hotel seemed like we were the only guests, although I know we weren't. Nothing to do there but was all we were looking for as we were out during the day/evening. I'd stay here again and was happy with our room.” Jan 30, 2008 by
Michael from Biloxi, MS
“The hotel staff was very friendly. Parking is expensive but good quality. Room service is the front desk giving you menus for places that deliver. No in house food service is available after lunch. The only food service on Sunday is a very expensive brunch. If you expect food service, this is not the hotel for you. If you plan on eating out in the French Quarter or other local places then this hotel will work for you.” Jan 29, 2008 by
Jean from Nj, NJ
“We liked the historical character and location of the hotel. The re-converted bank was fun and interesting. We were within walking distance of most of the city, although heavy rain restricted our touring time. The staff was friendly and helpful. Dining became our biggest problem since the hotel food was poor and there were few choices of eateries within a close distance to the hotel. There was wireless access in the rooms, but the hotel computer was very slow. I think that we liked the idea of the hotel rather than its reality.” Jan 29, 2008 by
Terry from Jackson, MS
“Our stay was excellent. The location, the staff, and the facilities were perfect. The lady at the desk all weekend was so sweet and so helpful. The restaurant food quality and price were very good. We want to go back.” Jan 27, 2008 by
Clifford from Hawthorne, CA
“Comfortable, would stay there again.” Jan 24, 2008 by
Jennifer from Katy, TX
“There was only one restaurant in the hotel and it closed at 2 pm. That's to early to close.” Jan 24, 2008 by
Raymond from Lake Charles, LA
“The staff was very professional and the room amenities were superb. I would recommend this historic hotel to anyone whether it is business or pleasure or both. We enjoyed every moment.” Jan 23, 2008 by
Tiffany from Denham Springs, LA
“Although in a great location, this hotel lacks the charm you would expect from a boutique hotel. The rooms were dirty and smelled of cigarettes. The furnishing were outdated and not attractive. On the upside, the staff was very friendly.” Jan 22, 2008 by
Linda from Houston, TX
“This is an old bank converted to a hotel. Very quaint and romantic. Close to the Convention Center and casino.” Hotel Representatives:
