• Wonderful atmosphere.
• No coffee maker in room.

“Good overall experience. Staff was friendly and accommodating. As I stated earlier, I did wish there was a coffee maker in the room. That would have made it much more convenient for us.”

• The room was attractive and immaculate. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
• The smoke and noise level in the casino.

“We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is in a great location and transportation is easy using the monorail or bus system or cabs (much more expensive!) so you really don't need a car. We had a lovely view of the strip from our room on the 27th floor! We would love to stay here again.”

• The food.
• The pool are was poorly located, did not like pool.

“Room was clean. Not happy with no free Internet connection. Room was small for a 4 star. The down town area is expensive and limited to medium priced foods and entertainment etc.”

• I appreciated how many staff were available to help at any one time.
• It is not set up very well for business travelers, i.e. no desks in the rooms and the internet cord is tucked behind the television.

“Overall, my stay at this hotel was not appropriate for the kind of trip I was on. It was a business trip and I found that this hotel is not entirely prepared for this type of visit. You have to pay an extra $20 to use the work-out facilities or spa, however, free passes are begrudgingly given if you ask for them.”

• I loved the atmosphere as it made me feel as if I was truly in New York.
• I did not spend enough time to find out anything bad.

• The roller coaster ride.
• Ugly lobby, very small room, extremely small bathroom, very unclean hallways and room.

“The hotel is very badly maintained, rooms are extremely dirty. The bathroom was small and had stains all over. I actually checked out of New York on 2nd day and checked in to Monte Carlo. Thus not staying the three. After this incident, I will think again.”

• Rooms very nice, bed comfortable, Nice staff, good food and good entertainment.
• Had to pay $20 to use weight room once and no available coffee in the rooms.

“Overall it was very nice. I would recommend it to others. Good entertainment every night in cabarets. Gambling machines let you win enough to be fun, even though casino comes ahead in the end. Be prepared to buy your own coffee in morning and pay to use gym.”

• I got a free upgrade to a 6th floor corner room with a nice view for free.
• Had to call for maid service on day 2 and was told it would be several hours until they came.

“Overall, I had a great experience at New York New York. It is on the strip right across from MGM Grand connected by a bridge and close to everything I like. My 6th floor corner room was very spacious even with two queen beds in it. There's lots to do and the casino interior is more brightly lit than some others, which matches my preference. The only things missing are a good club and a major show unless you really like Rita Ruder.”

• Good location on the famous strip, although at the far end of it.
• Carpets need replacing bed linen not clean on first night's arrival.

“Plausibly re creates the feel of Manhattan about as well as can be expected in Las Vegas, but the cleanliness of the hotel and our room in particular does not satisfy a four star rating, three to 3.5 stars is more reasonable. Carpets are worn out both in the hallways and in the room, and we found small drops of dried blood on the bed blanket not on the linens, thankfully, just on the thick outside cover. Better to stay at the MGM Grand, Monte Carlo, Paris, or Bellatrix, which charge similar rates.”

• Close to the airport
• smoke filled lobby, worst air in Vegas. Charge extra for everything. Food in hotel is very poor. Think grade school lunch room at 10X the price.

“The worst hotel that I have ever visited in Las Vegas. The place is not well ventilated so the smoke just hangs there and hits you in the face. The food is way overpriced and reminded me of grade school lunchroom food. You would think the place would be happy to get your gambling money, but they charged extra for everything. I forgot a razor and it cost me almost $6. If you leave a drop of shampoo they will not give you a new bottle and it seems that they where refilling the little bottles and "sealing" them with Scotch tape. Very tacky.”

“We loved New York, New York. Are room was great, even though we were next to the roller coaster we could barely hear it. The hotel itself was one of the best designed I thought in Vegas. Getting around wasn't hard since the New York New York is right across the street from the MGM and you can take the monorail all the way to the other end of the strip. We will be staying again on our next trip. Two thumbs up!”

“It was more than adequate in terms of room and amenities. The location on the strip was perfect for us and we liked the choices of an expensive meal or a quick hot dog or pizza. The casino was not as smoky as some and we appreciated that.”

• The room was well appointed and was larger than most hotel rooms.
• We could hear the roar of the roller coaster in our room.

“I would stay there again because the room was large and very nice. Bathroom was done in gray marble. Soaps, shampoo and amenities were a cut above. Just be sure to ask for a room high enough to avoid the roar of the roller coaster which is part of this property's entertainment. ”

“Had a great time! We were on one of the higher floors, so the screams from the rollercoaster were more amusing than a nuisance. Even though it's almost at the "end" of the strip I'd stay at New York New York again!”

• The location
• The rooms were plain and the bathrooms were ordinary. Afour star hotel should be distinguishable from a 2 star hotel. No q-tips in the bathroom!

• The location was good.

“This hotel was rated as a Four **** star hotel. I've stayed a three star hotels with better rooms and service then this hotel. I felt the best thing about this hotel was it's location, right next door the the MGM Grand that is where I spent most of my time and money. ”

• Nice Hotel and Casino, you could stay there all week
• My room was very noisy. I could hear the next room and their kids as if they were in my room!

“Nice hotel although the rooms were not as nice as I would expect since the casino and restaurants are so beautiful. My stay was marred by noisy neighbors "up and screaming by 6am!)and paper thin walls. I don't blame the hotel for all of that. ”

• Great location on strip and excellent restaurants in the hotel.
• My room was right next to a loud blower. The noise kept me up all night.

“My check in was quick and efficient. The hotel had a variety of restaurants and was convenient to the strip. The staff was friendly and helpful. My room was large, but located right next to the roller coaster and large blower. I complained to the manager about the noise. He took my name and address down. He said I would receive a letter in the mail. Even with the noise of the blower, I would stay again at New York New York! Great hotel and location!”

• The restaurants inside were convenient and inexpensive.
• It was further down on the strip than I expected. And getting a cab took some time.

“The hotel was nice but a little confusing to navigate. It's devided into different towers that can be difficult to find when wandering through the casino. The bathroom was big but the room was rather small.”

• The smaller casino. Short walk to MGM. Good restaurants.
• They charge $1 per phone call to the front desk and don't tell you that before you call!

“I enjoyed my stay here, but it isn't the best place for people looking for the wild Vegas experience. It's a smaller, quieter casino than most, and their amenities are not as great as other casinos. First of all, there aren't any nightclubs worth mentioning. The closest ones are in the MGM, and they're not that great. The pool and spa are nothing special. Overall, there is nothing that extraordinary about New York, New York.”

• The handicapped hotel room was not updated as the rest of the hotel.

“This is a pretty good hotel. Because of the development on the strip, NY NY is central to many of the hotels (although far from convention center). Its rooms have undergone rennovations, and they were well worth it. Also, the hotel has two great bars and lots of people coming to the hotel so great people watching.”

• we could not take a good shower for the 3 days we were there

“For a hotel that takes pride and charges a premium, you would thiunk that there would be some hot water for showers and some good water pressure. it is very disappointing when it is imposibble to get the shampoo out of your hair for 20 minutes because there is no pressure let alone hot water. to sum up this whole experience it was horrible. both rooms had the same problems, and I am sure that we are not the only people that have experience this.”

• The room was clean and the airport checkin was friendly and convenient.
• Use of the mediocre gym cost $20, which I would not expect in a four-star hotel.

“The hotel was adequate and corporate -- the rooms were clean, comfortable, and decent in size. We were able to check in at the airport, which was useful, and the staff was very accommodating there. However, use of the hotel gym cost 20 dollars, and it was not even especially nice. I would expect a hotel with this rating to have complimentary gym facilities. Furthermore, the rooms were a little small by Las Vegas standards. ”

“I reserved a non-smoking room - they had one left (so they said, although the hotel parking lot was 2/3 empty), and it was right by the roller coaster.

They "upgraded" us to a N/S room, but that was not bearable.”

“New York New York was everything I expected and more. I thought I would end up in the back of the hotel somewhere, but instead got a great room facing the strip. I was treated with very courteous and friendly service, from the time I arrived to the time I checked out. I look forward to my next trip to Las Vegas.”

“The New York New York resort was very nice. The room was clean, the staff very helpful and friendly. My only negative comment involves the Galleher's (steakhouse) restaurant on site. They advertise prime cut dry aged beef, and it was anything but. For over $35, I got a huge slab of tough, stringy, tasteless beef...costumed as a rib eye steak! All the other eateries were very very good, and this place had coolers full of aging beef to lure in guests, and was jammed every night, but fell far far short of its billing.”

“Water in the shower wouldn't drain and I took a shower in standing water. When I talked with the manager on duty, she apologized and offered me a drink and two for one breakfast coupons. I didn't agree on that and then she offered me dinner for two and told me to pick up my coupons from the front desk. Later on that day when I went to pick up coupons I was told there is only 2 for 1 breakfast coupon and drinks coupon. I stood there for almost 40 minutes and finally the front desk manager told me that she never said anything about dinner and she hung up the phone while I was talking. I was very upset and asked for the hotel manager who was busy at the time. After my 3-4 calls he finally left a message and mentioned very clearly that they can not offer me what was already offered.”
