• They were able to give us a room with two queen beds.
• The entry was thought the casino, which was very smoky.

“We stayed at the Atlantis for a single night for a family vacation. The only negative was that the casino itself was quite smoky, and you could still smell cigarette smoke up in our 11th floor non-smoking room.”

“When we got there, they told us that their towers were full, so we were moved to their motorlodge in the back. They gave us free breakfast to make up for this. The room had a very strong odor, and was not clean. It probably would have been much better in the towers.”

• Friendly staff, clean, great food, close to shops.
• The parking.

“The hotel is close to shops & other restaurants; it's in a great location. The room was affordable & clean. Two pools, great set up. We stayed in the Motor Lodge, which was nice for not being in the main tower of the Atlantis. I was not disappointed. The only problem was the parking. The parking is limited. Sometimes we had to park a good distance from our room, but I would stay there again.”

• The reservations manager was outstanding in his service orientation, very helpful.
• We got put in the Econo Lodge which was terribly run down and not even in the Casion Hotel, it was out back!

“While the customer service was great, the econo lodge was horrid. It was very run down, not even in the hotel, it was out back, and the rooms were not nice & romantic at all. The food was not quality food, and restaurants/buffet was not available to the early morning people like myself who had to be somewhere at 7:00 a.m. We had to find some other place that was serving breakfast to go to. For what it cost, lodging, food, convenience of available services, I would not stay there again.”

“Great location, great food - excellent hotel but don't get a room on the pool side on Saturday nights. Loud party, weird "costumed" cliental at party and around casino late at night.”

• The location was great and the restaurants were well priced.
• The rooms we got were on the 6th floor and flood light shined into our windows at night.

“The Atlantis was great for the price. They have just completed a new addition and the sports bar was great. I also noticed that the restrooms were very clean. They could use an update on their linens. I'm not sure hot blue/orange fish are in style.”

• The convenience to the places we had to go while in Reno.
• The room we were assigned was noisy in that it was just outside the hotel refrigeration units.

• The pool was nice and the Sushi bar was excellent.
• The hotel staff was unfriendly and didn't warn us of any construction.

“The rooms and facilities were very nice. The bars and gaming tables were very nice as well. The bell staff was very helpful but the valet service was rather poor. The front desk staff did a very poor job of not offering up the information that there was construction work going on. In addition to no communication of the construction they were also very unsympathetic about the situation when it was brought to their attention at check out.”

• Outdoor pool was basic, no drink service, no suntan lotion.

“During the time we stayed, the casino was under renovations so getting around was a little tight, but not too much bother, though we were not there to gamble. The staff was very friendly and accommodating including check-in, Purple Parrot cafe, Java Coast, spa and housekeeping. Concierge even hooked us up with tickets to a sold-out show at a nearby casino! The room was very spacious and clean and the carpet was cushy and clean enough to walk around barefoot. And the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The hotel is located next to the Convention Center which was very convenient for us during this stay. Decent shopping nearby as well. Would highly recommend this hotel and will stay again next time. Tip: Walk across the street to Raley's for water $1.18 for 1 gallon versus $2.00 for a small bottle out of the vending machine. Must go to Great Basin Brewing Co. for an Ichthyosaur India Pale Ale.”

• Gambling table minimum play limit too high.

“A major complaint I have is that the bathroom in the hotel room did not have a fan. So when someone was taking a shower, the door had to stay open in order to ventilate the room, which made the room really hot inside. The food at Purple Parrott was ok, a bit on the expensive side. We also dined at the Cafe Al Fresco. Food wasn't too bad, but the price was a bit high- $60 for food for 3 people.”

“This was a 4 star hotel, but not all of the rooms were 4 star. At least, we were not put in the motel in the parking lot, but our room was a 3 star room; which is fine.”

• The room was clean and seemed remodeled compared to the exterior of the building.
• The exterior of the building needs upgrading. It's quite shabby.

“The part of this hotel I stayed in was not connected to the main part of the casino so it's hard to rate as a total comparison to the rest of the hotel. My ratings might be different if I stayed in the main hotel and not the motor lodge section.”

• The casino floor is like a maze and made it difficult to find the registration desk.

“We had an excellent room at the end of the hall. Very quiet, terrific view, extremely clean. Although the hotel's renovations appear to be behind schedule, it will likely be fantastic when finished. We would definitely stay here again. We especially liked the spacious room, which would be convenient when traveling with our children and snowboard gear.”

• Clean, safe and centrally located. Staff was pleasant.
• Construction manager did not communicate with us as promised regarding ongoing construction near our room.

“Although the hotel itself might qualify as a 4 star there are 4 levels of rooms within the hotel. The luxury tower, which is just above the motor lodge portion. Honestly a 2.5 to 3 star. It is their standard room. There is a lot of upgrading being done throughout the hotel, so be in communication with the front desk about construction noise. On our stay, the construction started at midnight and ran through 7-8 AM. They did move us, but just be clear when you check in and avoid the whole issue. We traveled with kids and spent a lot of time in the two pools (one indoor and the other outdoor). Rooms were clean and the inside environment was safe. Buffet was very nice. Not too sure on the coin gaming, but I had my fun on the craps table. Would stay there again. I still think it is probably the nicest spot in South Reno to stay.”

• Excellent customer service!
• Smokey, but what do you expect? Purple Parrot did not have good food.

“The motor lodge is a dump. Atlantis upgraded me to the Dolphin Tower. That room was much nicer. I have stayed in many places and the Atlantis has the best customer service I have ever experienced. Front desk, waitresses, dealers, spa, service, etc. I give all of you an applause.”

• Location. Rooms were clean, roomy.
• The rooms are over a casino, smoke prevalent, remodeling.

“The Atlantis is conveniently located across from the Reno Convention Centre. The rooms appeared remodeled, however, the hallways and elevators show their age. The air conditioning didn't seem strong enough to thwart the triple digit heat in the rooms. The temperature in the room was just comfortable. There is a great deal of construction going on that takes away from the ambiance of the Atlantis.”

• Old doors do not match quality of newly remodeled rooms.

“It's a casino hotel room that has recently been remodeled. Parts of the hotel are still under renovation and thus are not available for guest use. May not be appropriate for business travelers who just want a nice room without having to drag their luggage from a distant parking space in an open lot though a crowded entry to the desk and then past multiple slot machines to find an elevator. Restaurant was very good but signage in hotel to find it was a little confusing due to construction and detour signs.”

• We had an excellent meal at the Steak House - prime rib; shrimp scampi combo/ filet; coconut shrimp combo.
• Generally in shabby shape, torn carpets, missing refrigerator/mini bar, no coffee in room, smoky casino area, tired décor, spa not completed.

“It is difficult to understand how the Atlantis earned it's 4 star rating? It is badly in need of a massive overhaul. The casino decor is outdated; hotel carpets/hallways were worn and even torn; the armoire held a TV on top and a gaping hole in the bottom (perhaps a minibar or refrigerator once graced the room, but no longer). The Center Stage bar had music, but no dance floor. The Casino is generally smoky, dark, crowded with a confusing layout (especially main floor). With the spa renovation not completed, and the location away from the main part of town, I'm not certain who would be drawn to this hotel. I would not recommend for families, leisure travelers who enjoy activities other than gambling, or business travelers. I usually stay at the Grand Sierra Resort, but thought I would try something different (which proved to be quite a mistake). I went with a friend to the Atlantis and we had a good time because we created a good time (I will say, that the Steak House was very good and we enjoyed our food and the service). As you might imagine, I would not return to the Atlantis.”

• Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, glass elevators.
• Beautiful swimming pools, but could not use during day - too many kids.

“The room was incredible, but not sure how it compared to regular rooms. My only complaint with hotel was we wanted to enjoy lounging around pools (indoor and outdoor), but they were packed with kids all day. They should designate a certain time of day just for kids. Also, no shade at all (umbrellas etc.) around outdoor pool, so very hot.”

• The staff was helpful and friendly. Self parking was easily accessible.
• The rooms were a little outdated. The pool was very crowded.

“We enjoyed our stay and especially enjoyed the entertainment. It is a place we would like to return to, the staff are very personable. The gym and spa were under construction, so they had a make shift gym in a hotel room. Otherwise we had a very enjoyable experience.”

“The casino and hotel room were extremely dated. We choose to eat at one of the restaurants in the casino and we dissatisfied with the food. We were very disappointed with the overall accommodations.”

• One it's overall appearance is amazing and the view at night was stunning.
• The fact that you could get lost if you don't pay attention and out of Towner's might need a map to navigate your way around.

“The hotel was great and they did not try to put me up in that 1 star motor lodge they have attached to their hotel that needs to be renovated and brought up to their star level or tear it down. But my experience was great and the Atlantis is located in the perfect spot by all the nice restaurants and shopping.”

• The room ruined my vision of doing anything at this hotel, we left and visited the Grand Sierra.
• The room we an old motel room, now I know what Travelodge means, terrible!

“I was upset when realized that we were not inside the actual hotel. When they said that my room was out the door along side the hotel, then I was skeptical. There's nothing like trying to impress your lady, then to find out that your staying in a broken down old motel (Travelodge). I'm very disappointed.”
