• Staff was very friendly & helpful. Moderately clean facility. Rooms were very clean.
• Adjacent gambling casino & drifting cigarette smoke.

“It met our expectations as we don't gamble. It was reasonably clean. Casino environment isn't compatible with families. Needs a design change to keep the casino's cigarette smoke from drifting into the main lobby. We would stay again. Hotel room was very clean.”

• No problem finding a parking space.
• Noisy neighbors. Plumbing is very noisy too. We could hear flushes and showers in adjacent rooms.

“The Holiday Inn is average. The room itself was nice enough, but the hotel is located in a run-down area of town. Noise from the plumbing in adjacent rooms was annoying, and being awakened at 2 AM by noisy neighbors across the hall was not appreciated. We did not patronize the restaurant, use the pool or visit the casino. OK for a one night stay, but try another hotel for extended stays.”

• Bad are full of homeless and drug addicts and hookers.

“The internet should be free where you need a key to get into room and they should not charge. Also, security should ask people for key instead of just anybody walking inside. Also, not typical for Holiday Inns is no free breakfast, but there is a free van that will go downtown and the airport.”

“Perfect for the price, wasn't expecting anything outstanding but was clean and comfortable. However online it says the rooms have fridges (which I need for my baby) but when we got there, they charged us extra for the fridge, I was upset about that but other than that, no problems.”

• Uncomfortable beds, scary location, terrible food, run-down casino attached.

“The area this hotel is in is unsafe. The casino attached to the hotel is definitely a low-income locals casino. Lots of police activity. Rooms and hotel lobby were very clean, however the beds were extremely lumpy for a hotel bed and we kept having to call maintenance to repair the toilet. The heat worked on/off. Bad TV reception on all the good channels. It was basically a room to just sleep in. Restaurant food was not good. Stay away from the gift shop. I definitely would not recommend this hotel for families, or for comfort even just as a quick over-night stop.”

• The rooms were clean.
• There were shady characters hanging around the lobby non-stop.

“The hotel rooms were clean and once I went in my room I felt safe. the casino/lobby area however had people hanging around who were asking for money, cigarettes. That made me very uncomfortable. we drove into the city were it felt safer.”

• I was pleased that it was not the awful place that I had read in other reviews! A good thing was the shuttle service--pretty much at your convenience.
• Nothing.

“I had heard bad reviews on the cleanliness of this hotel. I found this not to be true! My room as well as public areas in the hotel were all in acceptable order for cleanliness! The staff was most helpful in getting me to and from town, and for my return trip to the airport. I understand that the attached casino has a bad reputation---something about things that go on outside the back door--but personally I do not hang outside the back doors of any places that I frequent! I found the casino to be a little outdated--carpet and such- but the food available and the staff there were wonderful! When I go back to Reno again--I will probably stay at the hotel again--especially for the money! It was a great deal for me!”

“Very nice looking facility inside and out. Rooms are very nice, staff helpful. The only drawback is the homeless population is always in the parking lot. I was hit up for money every time I came out of or entered the building.”

• Bathtub/shower leaked badly, no fridge or microwave, no sofa or lounge chair.

“Our bathtub/shower leaked badly and got water all over the floor. There was no microwave or fridge in the room. The TV had poor reception. There was a big empty corner that lacked any furniture. Also, because this hotel is in Reno, the lobby smells badly of smoke. The neighborhood is terrible. Many questionable people walking around the streets.”

“Very unfriendly staff. Gave me a smoking room and then, when asked to change said they had none. Then there was a woman checking out, and said I could take her room, once she checks out, So I agreed and said I will go to dinner and be back in 1 hour, please have that room ready, they refused, giving stupid reasons, and then I smiled and said what good customer service! The person in charge was so rude, that I was surprised she was working in the hospitality industry.”

“The hotel had a casino attached and the local people frequented the casino. The neighborhood was what one could classify as "city hood". There were lots of drunken locals in the casino. I did not feel safe. However the room was excellent! Definitely clean and more updated than other hotels built in the same era.”

“This is located in a scary area, lots of transients. At 6pm on Friday, I was only guest in the restaurant; it looked like a ghost town. There was trash left on top of the TV from the earlier guest. I was neither not at all comfortable walking across the parking lot to enter the hotel nor walking in the hallways.”

• It had its own casino downstairs with affordable gaming tables. Also, they gave us 4 free drinks upon check-in.
• Not the best part of town, but not terrible.

“The room was clean and updated but not fancy. The location is not walking distance from the strip but they have a shuttle and there are taxis. The little casino downstairs was decent for a small casino, the drinks were affordable.”

“I thought the entry way was very nice. It was a little hard to get to but just because some construction was going on next door, so you can't blame the hotel for that. It will clear and be great.”

• Customer service was very poor. Argued with me over the room for 15 minutes.

“Hotel is in a bad part of town. Customer service was very poor. I had three people in my party and when the hotel realized that they didn't have a room available with 2 beds they tried to charge me $15 extra for a cot. They argued with me for 15 minutes refusing to budge unless I paid the extra money. I finally had to ask for the manager who was slightly rude, but finally helped me out. I would never stay here again.”

“The room was clean but did not have the requisite shampoo, conditioner and soap. We had to go down to the desk to get these items and then they didn't have them either so we were left with using shampoo and facial soap when we showered. The view from the room was horrible; however, we needed a room to sleep in for a couple of nights and it was fine for that.”

• I liked the housekeeper. She was very pleasant and greeted us whenever she saw us.
• Front clerk was very rude and unpleasant. If we weren't attending a wedding, I would have walked out.

“Hotel was under renovation so; there was a lot of stuff around. Front clerk was very rude. Even after reserving 4 rooms, she wouldn't put any of our rooms together. She made a comment "I hope your all not in one room" when she saw the kids playing in the lobby. Not looking to see that we reserved 4 rooms because it was a wedding. If it wasn't for the wedding, we would have left.”

“This was an incredible disappointment. This hotel should be a 1 star, everything old and dingy; way out of way only good thing is they have a good shuttle service. Real seedy people hanging out, at that casino, poor dirty types, a little afraid to be around hotel much. Pool clean but bare bones in furniture and atmosphere. This was a real disappointment to what was to be a nice weekend. I feel very cheated and would never recommend this to anyone, it was an embarrassment.”

• The rooms were worn and tired. Hotel is remodeling.

“This is a great location for the single male or couple traveling. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for a single female. The area around the hotel is industrial and there is a low-end casino in the lobby that attracted a rough crowd. The parking lot around the hotel had groups of men just loitering. I think this would make a woman feel uncomfortable arriving after dark and walking to the hotel. I didn't see a security guard outside of the casino. Easy access to the major freeways, downtown Reno and Sparks casinos and the staff was very friendly. My room was located on one of the top floors and I had a great view of the Reno casinos and the mountains. For the right price, I'd stay there again.”

• The staff was sincerely accommodating. The kids eat free. Coupon was definitely appreciated.

“Accommodations are reasonably priced and a family of 4-5 can easily fit in a king room. Pool is large and well maintained, arcade for children is small, but located near the casino floor. Kids eat free coupon allows parents to enjoy a breakfast or lunch in the hotel restaurant without the added experience of the children's meals. Location is not desirable as it is away from the main hotel area of Reno and children should not go out to vehicles unaccompanied by an adult because of constant street people traffic in the area.”
