“My stay was very uncomfortable due to the fact I was unable to escape the smoke. The hotel needs to get a filtration system so people that have health issues can enjoy gambling etc&”

• Bed was extremely comfortable.
• Not much.

“The el dorado Is excellently located to all of those things one might want to go to Reno for, many of which--gaming, live shows/music, dining, and so on--are available without leaving the hotel Itself. Parking Is easily accessible, the Interiors plush and comfortable. Additionally, the hotel and casino are connected Internally to other two other properties (circus and the silver legacy) leaving almost no need unmet without too much leg work. A great place to stay, with an excellent bed to boot.”

• Sometimes check in can be a little slow.

“We usually stay at the Eldora do and we have never been let down. If you have the money tries getting one of their player suites, totally worth every penny. The rooms are very large with a sitting area, table w/ 4 chairs, king sized bed, and a Jacuzzi tub over looking the city or mountains. The higher up in the hotel, the better the views.”

• Very convenient for gambling and the shows are excellent.
• Put into a smoking room when we asked for non-smoking.

“This is an excellent hotel and had it not been for the fact we were assigned a smoking room when I specifically asked at check in for a non-smoking room things would have been great. The rooms are big and usually clean with very comfortable beds. I would stay there again except I would know to make sure the room meets my expectations before dropping off the luggage and leaving for dinner without thoroughly checking it out. When we got back to the room for the night it was then too late to do anything about the situation.”

“Hotel room is clean, except the air condition is kind of noisy. People came back from the casino floor woke me up in the middle of the night, it seems they were drunk.”

• It was an "ok" hotel.
• Staff very aloof and not too helpful.

“Reno is kind of a "sketchy" city and the el dorado is right in the middle. I would not suggest roaming too far from the hotel itself. The staff seemed a bit lost at times. However, the food was great and unless you need to get around the city, everything you need is in the hotel.”

• We were upgraded to a suite on the 16th floor -enjoyed the size of room and view of the city.
• The restaurant area was smoky due to being so close to the casino.

“We especially enjoyed our 1 night stay at the Elderado due to our free upgrade to a large suite on the 16th floor. The prices were reasonable and options of entries were a nice variety at the multiple restaurants available. Although the Elderado is located downtown, it is an easy 4 mile drive to the airport. We will certainly recommend this hotel to others.”

• The staff was friendly and very helpful.
• I did not have a negative experience at this hotel.

“After having a bad experience at a hotel next door just a day before, The Eldorado stepped up to the plate to make my stay with them a memorial one. They gave me a nice upgrade and bought me dinner after informing them that I had a bad experience with my previous stay. They made my day and made me forget how upset I really was.”

• Room was very nice but not as posh as we had expected. Construction in the area made access to the free parking an adventure.

“I would not recommend Eldorado's to my friends or family. The room was small and noise could be heard from the hallway all night. I might as well have stayed at a Super 8 because it was about that quality to me, except for the toiletries provided. The staff did not explain that I would not be able to get a King size bed when I requested one at the front desk. What a surprise to get into the room and see a queen. Tiny room, tiny bathroom. I can't believe I paid $100 for that!”

• Room price good, staff friendly and helpful, least smoke odor of any casino visited.
• Wireless PC service complicated to point of uselessness. Wireless connection free and simple at Motel 6. El Dorado needs to compete in this regard.

“We don't stay anywhere else unless we absolutely have to. We love it at the El Dorado. The large suites with the wrap around windows has the most beautiful views. Love it there.”

• They charged me extra for a non smoking room.

“Hotel rooms were dirty and dingy. Upon arrival they had non-smoking rooms but would not offer it to me without a $.20.00 per night upgrade charge. That is not acceptable. It's not the money, it is the principle.”

• Convenient, competent staff, great food, room service outstanding.
• Needed more moderate gift shops and items. We were there for a show and gambling and spending weren't primary.

“Convenient, friendly staff, great amenities, no shortage of food. Everything I needed in short reach. My only complaint was that I reserved the room 3 months in advance and had to be put in a spa suite which was nice the first night, but then had to move the next day. I would think that 3 months would be enough time to assure one could receive what was requested without incident.”

• Shower was designed for someone under 5-6.

“Overall we enjoyed the hotel. It is a little out dated but served it's purpose as we spent very little time actually in the room. I was a little disappointed that it still cost me $3 dollars a day for what the hotel called a Resort fee. The hotel is in a great location and is connected to the Silver Legacy and Circus and right across the street from Harrahs. I would return and stay at this hotel.”

“Conveniently located in downtown Reno, the Eldora do has some lovely restaurants. Their coffee shop, Tivoli Garden, has very good food and service. The Brews Brothers Microbrewery is also there and the grilled shrimp is probably the best I've ever had.”

• I liked the non-smoking, clean room and 10-story parking garage.
• The garage got really full mid-week around 5pm and we almost didn't get parking!

“Great place and convenient for our family of four with young children to get around to Circus Circus without leaving the building, to get to the bus to the state fair, and to get our truck to the outskirts of Carson City. The 10-story parking garage allowed us to keep our truck cool during the heat of the day. The pool was a pleasant surprise, ”

• Casinos are not like other hotels. The front desk is hidden behind hundreds of slot machines.
• Non-smoking room still smelled like old cigarettes. The casino was a dark smelly, noisy ordeal we could not avoid.

“Located on the main street in downtown Reno, this hotel might be okay if you love, love to gamble. Like all casino hotels it is has lots of glitter worn thin at every turn by hordes of slot machine addicts. Very slow service seemed normal in the restaurants and the food was quite expensive. People at the front desk were efficient and helpful. The valet parking service was excellent.”

• The employees were very friendly and the hotel was very clean.
• The only thing I found a problem was where the bathrooms were located, it was very inconvenient.

• It was located in the center of all activities. The room we were in appeared to be newly remodeled with new carpeting and tile in the bathroom.
• The pillows and the smell of wires burning in the hallway which the staff says was from the coffee roaster and they regularly get calls about it.

“Had a nice time. Restaurants were nice and food was good. We requested a four star hotel but none were available. This hotel was fine for a three star.”
