• Food, service, room, everything.
• Mini bar prices are astronomical!

“This is a fantastic hotel! Service was brilliant, staff gave helpful directions to help us find our restaurant, assisted us when we had a problem with the cash machine and provided me with free toothpaste when I forgot mine. Hotel is completely gorgeous inside, wonderful lobby and our room was beautifully decorated and huge (though it was a triple room). Breakfast was fabulous too, hotel is pricey but worth it for a special night away- my friend and I took another friend for her 18th. it was perfect as hotel has central location and we could have a night out.”

• Clean hotel, good furnishings, spacious public areas including hotel corridors, clean windows that open and air con that can be turned off, no noise from other rooms, good information on how to access the hotel by train, tram and bus.
• Reliance on sky channels ie no bbc news 24 or bbc4.

“Very good access via sustainable transport thus other than by car. An easy tram ride from the station with our luggage took the pain out of driving and finding parking etc. The roooms were very clean and spacious and everything that should work did. Reception staff could do with offering a few more smiles but were very efficient.”

• The room was lovely; we particularly liked the anteroom where we could leave bags etc without cluttering the bedroom.

“The hotel is so central, it was an ideal location for our visit. The staff were very helpful - the car was parked for us and brought back late in the evening; we were able to leave our luggage with the concierge after we'd checked out.
We had an excellent visit to Manchester and the Midland certainly played its part in making it stress-free.”

• Non-smoking room. Nicely decorated/furnished with a nice bathroom.
• No car park. Food and drink in the hotel quite expensive.

“The hotel is in a good central location. The staff are friendly and polite and for the price we paid we found the accommodation to be of a high standard. The only downside is that the hotel food and drink is quite expensive although the quality is good.”
