• The location of the hotel and the beds were very comfortable.
• They did not change the bed after our first night. The snack bar is closed early for midnight snacks and the chicken noodle soup was disgusting.

“Nice hotel, friendly staff however not very knowledgeable about information about the Casino which is connected to the hotel. No restaurant menu in the room, and they didn't change our linens that had stains on them. Snack bar was closed early and room service menu was not snack friendly. No snack bar/drink in the room and internet access from the hotel room was very expensive. Beds were very comfortable, and had a very nice TV. Bathroom was very clean and parking was also expensive.”

• Could hear band playing at bar next door until 1 am.

“I've stayed in many hotels and don't really like the concept. Basically you get a bed for a phenomenal price. This hotel had a nice pool though.”

• When our room smelled strongly of smoke they finally agreed to move us to a clean room.
• At 1am they gave us a smoky room and told us there were no others. Finally they found us another one.

• Right on the water, our room look over the harbor, very beautiful vistas.
• There was only one ice machine on the floor and of course it was at the other end!

“This hotel offers clean, attractive rooms, nice amenities, a great location if you are touring or there on business. A great Starbucks in the lobby, the best ice cream in Halifax next door. Clean, well maintained, exercise, pool area.”

• Genuinely delightful staff finest of any Marriott hotel I know.
• Minor point, but did not find written instructions for using wake-up device or clear description of entertainment charges for TV movies.

• What's not to like?
• Oh, yeah, normal guests being charged for the breakfast.

“Stayed here on an escorted tour of the Maritimes. Rooms are clean and comfortable (and there's no shortage of pillows). The hotel restaurant (44 North) offers anything imaginable for breakfast, but the dinner we had there was just ok. You can't beat the location, right at the Harbor near shops, restaurants and attractions (the Maritime Museum is a short walk and the Citadel can be reached rather easy). The hotel has no shortage of amenities: extensive fitness center, indoor pool, spa, pub/restaurant and a next-door casino. Also, if you plan on arriving by plane, take advantage of the Air porter shuttle service, which can transport you from Halifax-Stanfield to the Marriott. Loved this hotel but likely wouldn't stay again.”

• King size bed with down comforter and pillows.
• No complaints.

“This hotel was great. The bed was fantastic (king size with down comforter and pillows), you just wanted to stay in bed all day. The shower was also great, loved the shower head. The hotel is located beside Privateer's wharf so it's very close to all the action, great location.”

• It was convenient to the bridge and the ferry terminal to Halifax.
• It was not really in an interesting part of the city.

“This hotel was ok for a couple of overnights. We had to stay in a smoker's room and I did not like that. The staff put in an air cleaner, but it was only marginally helpful. The air-conditioning was loud and the range was too much in the cooling cycle.”

• Both my husband and I are repeat visitors to this hotel. We enjoy the location and convenience.
• There is nothing that both my husband and I did not like about this hotel.

“For my husband and I this is probably our 5th time we have stayed at this hotel. We went to this hotel previously due to it's location and the hospitality.”

“Hotel is very clean. Close to all activities on the waterfront. Rooms are excellent. Staff is great. Connected to pedways. Complimentary breakfast was the best I ever had highly recommended.”

• It was perfect especially having the swimming pool for my teenager right outside our room. Perfect getaway. Felt like royalty.
• The service in the restaurant was slow. Waiting too long for our food.

“If you are on a vacation with the kids and need to keep them busy or maybe on a romantic getaway. On a business trip maybe. This is the perfect place to be. The rooms were immaculate, the beds were extremely comfortable and entertainment is only a short walk away.”

• I enjoyed the spacious room and bathroom.
• I didn't like that wireless internet and breakfast was not included.
