• The check in staff was very helpful and allowed us to have our room earlier than most hotels.
• The wireless internet did not function. I had a good connection to the wireless but only intermittent service.

“The hotel has a great location and a friendly staff. The failure of their internet service provider was, however, a severe inconvenience as I was depending on it for a series of meetings. This also affected two of my business colleagues making this an expensive mistake. "the cobalt" was a good place to meet but the service was mediocre and obscenely expensive even considering the location, the falling dollar, etc.”

• The standard room I stayed in was incredibly small even by London standard.

“Excellent location for shopping in London! However, the standard size room I stayed in had high end drapery and bedding but the room was incredibly small even by London standard. The bathroom is so small that one can hardly turn.”

• Very good location, quiet yet only a few minute from oxford street.
• Hotel a bit old. Stayed at the top floor and the water tank repeatedly.

“The hotel is ok apart from that the noise the water tank was making - it drove me mad to the point I had to complain even at 4 in the morning. Decor is quite outdated - hotel a bit old in general and not spacious at all so I definitely wouldn't recommend to families. Equipments in the gym not all working. Disappointed - expected a bit more for a Marriott, probably the worse one I ever stayed.”

“We were more than pleased. We were greeted by numerous staff, our rooms were large and very clean. Bathroom clean, large, good towels and robes. We had two queen beds with new mattresses more comfortable than home.”

• Tiny room.

“This place is terrific, but be sure to request bed type and smoking preference. I neglected to do so and was stuck with a tiny, tiny, tiny smoking room with a courtyard view. It would have barely been adequate for one person, but there was no way two people with luggage could fit in this room. One always had to sit on the bed for the other to move around. The bathroom was nice, but again, so small two people couldn't even walk into it at the same time. Room service prices were outrageous, but with this location, coffee and meals were mere steps away. I'd stay here again without a doubt if given a bigger room.”

• Caters to expense account business people. $40 dollar continental breakfast is ridiculous!

• Convenient and quiet location suited for relaxing after a long hard day but close to transport and food.
• The gym needs renovation as equipment did not work or was outdated. HVAC unit in room was noisy.

“The Marriott Governor Square hotel is situated within short walking distance to London Underground, high street shopping, restaurants. Business travelers will find the usual comfort expected from a Marriott and the location to be quiet - perfect for relaxing after a hard day of work. Tourists and romantics seeking a hotel with ambiance of bygone eras should look elsewhere.”

• This hotel was exceptional. I felt safe because it was next to the American Embassy. It was very convenient to the tube station.
• The hotel would be better served by offering free LD and Internet services to customers.

“The bed was so comfortable! The location convenient to the tube station. I felt extremely safe because the American Embassy was close by the hotel. The Grosvenor area was beautiful with some of the best shopping available with in walking distance.”

“Situated in leafy Grosvenor Square, in the heart of London's Mayfair, this superb luxuty hotel is ideal for the business or liesure traveller. Clos to Oxford Street and Bond street it is an excellent location for shopping and only a short distance from London's Theatreland.”

• The beds were so comfortable. I didn't want to leave them.
• The lobby was under renovation so it was a bit dusty.

“I absolutely loved this hotel. The people were friendly. The beds were extremely comfortable. The decor was quite nice and the bathroom was larger than most European hotels. It is located on the same block as a pub and several restaurants. It was nice and quiet. No traffic noise to contend with. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again.”
