“The Sofitel made for a perfect end to our 2-weeks in England. From train to hotel to plane without a cab transfer was so very convenient. An extra treat was the Asian restaurant on site. Truly delicious meal at an airport!”

“Very clean room. Fast check in and out. Beware of room service, very expensive so we just brought food from the airport. It was just perfect to spend the night inside the airport and wake up to an early flight with three kids, 18 months, 3 years and 18 years. I was not charged extra for the kids in the room. The roll away bed did the job. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone. ”

“This hotel is in a great location and is easy to get to after landing at Gatwick. Also car rental and everything is all nearby. It is not romantic and the rooms are very standard for the price. Also it seems to be geared more for business and airline employees than regular guests. The only coffee put out is for the airline people, and they do not offer even a continental breakfast for guests. I would say that overall it is good to stay there on your last day of touring so that you can be nearer to your departing airline, but think about staying at B&B's around the country for the rest of your travel. They were very polite and helpful at the desk, but I don't think that regular tourists are up that far on their hospitality list. Great for business or airline employees?”

“Fantastic accommodations, cheerful and hospitable staff from the top on down to those who vacuum and clean up. We asked for some extra arrangements and were provided with our request no charge, even though we were prepared to pay for the extra bed for our daughter. We have stayed at all range of quality of hotels and this fits nicely into the "Excellent" caliber. We would recommend starting or ending any trip to London through Le Meridian Gatwick Airport; it's a nice place to get over jet lag and to stay for an early flight back to the States.”

“The best way for handling a short lay-over at the London Gatwick Airport is at the Le Meridien Hotel! It was a five minute walk from the British Air desk where we landed. The hotel is connected to the Airport so no need for even stepping outside the airport. The hotel was very top quality ~ immaculate in cleanliness and tops in quality and service. They even let us leave luggage with them (at no charge) for the two weeks when we traveled on the mainland of Europe.”

“The Meridian at Gatwick was a pleasant experience. The front desk staff were efficient and professional and bellman quickly assisted with luggage. Lobby is beautiful and very impressive.
The rooms were clean, however the furniture is showing wear, with chips and scratches. The carpeting in the hallways was worn and taped down with duct tape. The pool and Jacuzzi were not available as they were being renovated which was a disappointment as we had a late flight out the next day.
Prices for phone calls and food at this hotel our beyond outrageous( we are Canadians and the cost of a 15 minute call home would have been $125 Canadian Dollars and full breakfast for 3 people would have cost us $142 Canadian Dollars) McDonalds is not far away and a calling card should be utilized for phone calls.I would rate the location, amenities and lobby area 4 star, however the room, hallways and the level of wear on carpets and furniture is a 3 star at best.”
