“From the first day to the last (4 nights) the staff was simply wonderful and so helpful in showing us how to get around Boston.”

  • This was the most imaginatively and beautifully decorated hotel I have ever stayed in.
  • There was nothing I disliked about this hotel.

“This hotel was the prettiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The square rooms, which could have been decorated generically, were boldly and beautifully decorated. There was a new large screen TV. The staff could not have been more helpful, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Boston or Cambridge.”

  • Funky design, friendly staff, good location.
  • Would have liked breakfast.

“This was a very nice hotel with funky furnishings- zebra design carpet etc. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a nice happy hour free glass of wine. It was an easy walk to the T stop to get into Boston and to Harvard. The hotel is attached to a mall, for easy access to shopping. I would recommend this hotel.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • We had a room with a view of the river, beautiful.
  • The window treatment curtains did not close all the way by design, too bright in the morning!

“We loved this hotel, very stylish and guest friendly, convenient to the T. We enjoyed the restaurant and the overall ambience. We walked in a good distance in several directions and felt very safe with the neighborhood.”

  • They offered Mountain Bikes and Kayaks, which were great to explore the city.
  • I can't think of anything.

“The Marlowe was more than a hotel, it was a great experience. The hotel staff was very helpful especially the door staff that helped me navigates the city and told me some great places to go. The rooms were very comfortable. They included everything I needed. I liked the flat panel TV. If I had known that, I would have brought the connections to watch a DVD. Overall, it was a great stay.”

  • Fancy entrance.
  • The worst service I have ever experienced.

“Don't go to this hotel as they would smile at you and make promises, but they won't deliver. The worst hotel to stay.”

  • When we joked about fries and shake with our double room, they brought shakes to our room.
  • Breakfast menu was expensive for what we got.

“We had a great stay. The rooms are wonderfully decorated, as is the lobby. The staff was very accommodating. They helped direct us in by phone when we got lost getting there (Boston is crazy!). They were very friendly and helpful when we arrived. They were great with suggestions about the area. The fitness room is well equipped.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[7]

  • Warm and inviting decor and a very comfortable bed.
  • Midway between Harvard and Boston but I knew that.

“Friendly and efficient staff made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. I only ate breakfast there, so didn't feel it fair to rate it 10 but breakfast was very nice. Everything in the room worked and nothing rattled or leaked. The bed was the most comfortable one I have slept in when in a hotel. I was meant to stay at the Hyatt in Cambridge for a conference but couldn't get a room; I am glad I didn't. The Hyatt was a dump compared to this place and gets 2* where the Marlowe gets 4*+.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[10] • Location:[6]

  • Rooms were comfortable and staff was very friendly.
  • A bit far from transportation and public spaces small.

“Rooms are terrific but fitness facility needs a significant expansion - especially for a university setting in Boston! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I liked the evening wine reception and morning coffee, although public spaces are quite small.”
