  • Nice location, the rooms were pretty spacious.
  • Parking at $20 a pop, the sleeper sofa was pretty ratty.

“Parking was $20, the sleeper sofa was pretty ratty. For the price and the stars level of this hotel I hoped to get something better. The swimming pool, hot-tub, and Jacuzzi were pretty nice. All in all it was ok. I was surprised at how small the rooms where even with the double beds and sleeper sofas, I hoped for more living space.”

  • We loved having it set as a suite, rather than one large room.
  • Ice machines were too few for the size of hotel.

“It was beautiful and very comfortable, which is what matters when you are tired and ready to relax.”

  • Very attentive manager who resolved our problem.
  • Lack of room choice.

“The hotel was nice and affordable. When I arrived at the hotel with a visiting friends from out of town I was informed we were only to get a room with 1 king bed and a sofa pullout. Not wanting to subject my friend to sharing a bed, I took the pullout. Bad choice - I wound up not getting to sleep and my 4:30 am, I left the hotel to return to my own place. The day manager was able to procure a room with 2 double beds for the next night and they complimented one night's parking.”

  • Easy to get to the Blue L. Min. to downtown.
  • Toilet handle was broken.

“Good place to stay, but only if they get nicer people with a smile to work there!”

  • Big rooms.
  • The parking was chargeable and they charged me $85 for two days of parking and are very slow to resolve the problem.

“The hotel is a nice building although the location is just in a residential town and the parking is outrageous.”

  • It was very clean, quiet, secure and relaxing!
  • Other than room service there wasn't any snack machines for late night snacks.

“I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Chicago! The pool was clean, the rooms were spacious, the view wasn't the best but I wasn't expecting one. The room service prices for food were a little high for what they consisted of but the hotel staff was very nice and quick to respond to calls. I enjoyed my stay and will be returning soon!”

“Overall we had a nice stay. Amenities were decent. Overall it is a very nice place. However, the cost of parking was outrageous!”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Gorgeous room, friendly staff, great location.
  • Dirty Jacuzzi, malfunctioning television, sub-par breakfast buffet.

“We received a two-room suite with a king-sized bed. The decorating scheme of the hotel is great, really makes it seem very upscale. We called the front desk on more than one occasion to ask them directions, and the information was waiting for us downstairs in the form of a web printout. However, all was not perfect. The Jacuzzi on the bottom level was bubbling excessively, a sure sign that it hadn't been cleaned properly, and we were afraid to go into the pool for this reason. The volume of the television in our room would suddenly rise between channels for no discernable reason. The rubbery scrambled eggs and undercooked sausage at the breakfast buffet wasn't worth the fifteen dollars that we paid for it. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to friends and family, but would just suggest that they go somewhere else for breakfast and not watch television while their partner is trying to sleep.”

  • The room was very nice better than expected.
  • Having to pay extra for internet access.

“The hotel did meet or exceed every exception that I had before arriving except for one. Going to a very nice hotel and having to pay extra for internet access is the same as going to a restaurant and having to pay for tap water.”

  • Everything was clean, and modern. My family liked the movie playing in the pool area. The restaurant had great food, and very nice staff.
  • I had a hard time finding the main elevators from the parking level. I was not aware of the 20.00 per night parking fee.

“The hotel was a little further away from downtown then I would have liked, but for the price, the hotel was great. The breakfast buffet was one the best features. My family really enjoyed the pool area; Friday night they played movies on a projection player.”

  • The rooms, pool and gym.
  • Paying for parking want my $40.00 back.

“Hotel was very nice, worth 3 star rating. I was upset to have to pay for parking Downtown Chicago I could understand. My wife and I went to work out on our last day there and I took my wedding band off and left it in the room. When we checked out and drove off I remembered that I lifted it so we went back. They had it at the front desk for me which was nice, but the girl at the front desk told me that I should not be taking off my ring at a hotel as if I was fooling around on my wife. Well everyone checking in heard this and was smiling except for me. I was embarrassed, that was not very nice.”

  • Quick check in service.
  • Failed to pickup morning breakfast card twice from door.

“They shouldn't be charging for the parking for the hotel overnight guests. Also it seems they don't do there rounds as the door tag for the next day breakfast was never picked for both days when put out in time. The website shows plasma/LCD TV's this was not the case in my room standard crt TV was in both bedroom and living area.”

  • The pool, lobby, the leisure places, and the rooms!
  • I didn't like the lack of microwaves and A/V connection for PS2.

“I would recommend Renaissance as a decent place for family and business travelers. If Hyatt hotel is too expensive for an overnight stay, then Renaissance is definitely the one. It definitely gave us are rest and relaxation for Anime Central 2008.”

  • Location was convenient.
  • There was a charge to use the computer in the business center per minute!

“I enjoyed staying at this hotel in Chicago because it was very convenient for me since I needed to travel out of O'Hare Airport. The staff was very accommodating and friendly upon check in. I am simply concerned about the fact that I had to spend over $70 in the business center using a computer. I spent two hours completing a term paper for a graduate course and was charged by the minute to use the computer. Other hotels offer this same service for free. I think that the Renaissance should reconsider and allow patrons to use the facilities in the business center for free.”

  • Attractive, many amenities.
  • Having to pay $20/night for parking!

“The hotel was somewhat difficult to fine, being that it was in the dark and raining, the Map quest directions had us exiting on the wrong exit and the hotel didn't have a lighted sign to help us find our way. However, the hotel was beautiful and the staff was gracious and helpful. We enjoyed our stay!”
