Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[8]

  • Location and amenities.
  • Old TV, windows and room not sealed up enough to quiet noise from club.

“Very nice hotel in a great location (Petco Park, Trolley, Gas lamp District). Nice rooms - air conditioner was loud but not even that could drown out the noise from the club across the street at 2 am.”

  • Pool and location.
  • The bed and AC.

“Cool looking, but our bed was super uncomfortable, pillows flat and even though turning the AC down a few times in middle of night.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • Close to all public transportation, very friendly staff, no complaints.
  • No hot water on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, run more water.

“The reason for no hot water on Tuesday and Wednesday is because not many people were staying at the hotel those 2 mornings. Had to run a lot of water till we got hot water. We were on the 12th floor.”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • Location + friendly staff.
  • Big shower stall - shower not working - too much $ for parking.

“Just ok. The room needed repair. The big shower was non functional, and there were some spots on the curtain. The bath tub shower worked ok, but the staff was very friendly. Parking was way over priced.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[8] • Location:[8]

  • Close to the Gaslight District.
  • Unbelievably and ridiculously expensive parking.

“The hotel is very nice. The bathroom lacked a lot, very Spartan, no vanity.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[9] • Location:[8]

  • Proximity to the Gas lamp District and the many restaurants in that area.
  • Noise from the adjacent railroad line -- excessive parking charge $30.00 per night.

“Excellent location for someone attending a convention at the nearby San Diego Convention Center and Seaport Village area.”

Cleanliness:[4] • Staff:[3] • Location:[4]

  • Kid's pack for the kids and Starbucks in their snack shop.
  • Accommodations were poor. 2 full beds for a family of four, $30/night for parking; expensive and not worth the money.

“It was definitely not worth the money. We had 2 small full beds for our family of 4. It was uncomfortable. On top of that you had to pay for parking and it was expensive. Everything at this hotel was expensive. The shower was small. I was not impressed with this hotel at all. When you go on vacation, you want to be comfortable. We felt cramped and the beds could have been the same at a Hilton for cheaper.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Perfect location for bars, restaurants and shopping in the Gas lamp.
  • Can go in and out, but still expensive.

“Beautiful Hotel in the Gas lamp area of San Diego. Many restaurants, shops, bars, and nightclubs within walking distance of the hotel. Walking to the pier area takes a little bit longer, but it is really not that far. If you stay at this hotel you do not really even need your car for anything. I asked for a room with a view of the bay and something a little higher up and was accommodated immediately. They did give me a smoking room. As a non smoker I could smell it, but I did not spend much time in the room. There was a window to open which aired out the room. Super clean modern room, nice spacious bathroom.”

Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • One of the best hotel experiences I have had in my life.
  • Parking fee was pretty high, same for guests as for general public.

“In the heart of San Diego, 'skywalk' to Petcock field, 6th floor rooftop pool, top of the line everything. The rooms were incredible, the beds were awesome, every amenity you could ask for. The restaurant was great, every meal we had there was delectable. I was so impressed with the Omni, they even had little backpacks full of goodies and toys for the kids when we checked in! I can't wait to go back.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • The hotel was clean, staff treated me great very helpful, and the rooms were wonderful.
  • There were a lot of people under the age of 25. Not a problem but something that caught my eye.

“I enjoyed my stay and would return again. Close to shopping, and I enjoyed the walk on the pier. I had a great time. Even though valet parking was $30.00, it was worth it. Trying to find a place to park can be a headache. Staff was great. The rooms are what caught my eye. Their clean and offer a variety of suites if you want to upgrade.”

“I enjoyed the stay at Omni and would stay there again. The location, for us, was unbelievable. We took the trolley everywhere and the stop was next to the hotel.”

Cleanliness:[9] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Location, friendly professional staff.
  • Small room, expensive parking, worn bed linens, pool not heated properly.

“It was a pleasant stay, we changed the rooms for three times because of the night train, finally in our last room, things were ok. The rooms were not so big, the beds and linens were old and worn, the pillows were terribly uncomfortable and the mattress was not in good condition anymore. The bathroom was nice, it was good sized and very well illuminated, the TV had a wonderful channel list and even a channel guide (very convenient). The rugs needed attention. No problems with air conditioning. Overall good experience.”

  • Excellent work out facility!
  • For the 4 star hotel - the water pressure was horrible.

“Overall the hotel was nice. However, we had an issue with water pressure. The shower would keep going to the tub spout and it was awful! We only stayed one night so we didn't know until we were showering before checking out. We called and they came and checked it, but we were already leaving so no assistance was offered to us. It really was awful for an upscale hotel.”

Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[5] • Location:[5]

  • Nice outdoor pool/deck area; concierge services were good.
  • $30 parking, poor cooperation for self parking by staff, and double beds at a 4 star hotel!

“Disappointed in beds, can't believe a hotel like OMNI has double beds - small! Parking was a hassle when it surrounded the Padres games - stadium next door - so you are out of luck aside from the $30 valet! Location was ok for downtown stuff. Loud nightlife on the weekends so not so great for small kiddos. However it was fun to go down to the harbor. Easy access to Coronado island.”

  • Very nice hotel, with good service.
  • Expensive parking.

“I stayed at the Omni for an over-night with my wife and 2 year old son after a day at Sea World. It was about 10 minutes away, but I wanted to stay at a 4-star just to make it a nicer weekend. If you are a baseball fan, then the Omni is for you. The hotel is literally across the street from Petco Park. The hotel has it's own entrance via private bridge. From the end of the hall on the 20 floor, you can see into the park and part of the game. The hotel is family friendly as they provided us with a crib and a separate mini-fridge to hold bottles for milk. We ate dinner downstairs at McCormick & Schmidt's pricy, but convenient. There was a baseball game the night we were there, so there was a 45 minute wait. However, since we were hotel guests, the receptionist told us we could wait in our room and they would call us when the table was ready. Nice touch. My only complaint (and surprise), hotel parking is valet only and costs $30. But that is true for most hotels in downtown San Diego. To the hotel's credit, when I pulled up, the valet told me the hotel's $30 valet price offered free in-and-out privileges. If I didn't need the car for the night, I could park across the street at a public structure for $16 with no in-and-out privileges. I did this instead and actually paid $12 for the night because it was special event parking for the game. Bringing the luggage across the street was very easy, so it worked out great.”

“The staff was most courteous and accommodating. The room was spacious and clean. Valet attendants and bell hops were efficient and courteous. Everyone was so helpful in directions and recommendations.”
