“Pleasant stay.”

  • Great food, nice room, many activities within the hotel.

“Tremendous - great food (wonderful buffets, super upscale restaurants, and a nice cafe ), very nice room, and so many recreational activities with the hotel complex. The hotel is isolated - so, guests cannot go from casino to casino, as they could if they stayed in downtown Reno. However, the hotel is very close to the airport, and if a guest wants to go downtown, it is a 10 minute bus ride, (buses stop every hour in front of the hotel) and 5 minute cab ride, away.”

  • It had everything, a casino, a business center, spa, gym, pool, nightclub, etc.
  • I wish the different services (other than the casino) were open 24 hours.

“It was a great experience, all the staff was super friendly and nice. The room was big and spacious and clean.”

Cleanliness:[5] • Staff:[9] • Location:[8]

  • Family friendly, has pool and bowling, fun for kids.
  • Room sofa and carpet looks very old and dirty, hall way is dark.

“Overall it is a good price for the hotel. Public place is nice, they have pool, bowling, golf range, and fun for kid. The room is big, but sofa and carpet looks are so old that you will think they are very dirty if you stay in hotel room instead of summit room. There is no coffee machine in room, and pool side party are so noisy in the middle of night during summer.”

  • Large hotel, clean and quite.
  • Out of the way location.

“This use to be the MGM, then Reno Hilton hotel. The hotel is modern in the lobby, with a SBUX store. However, the rooms are still a bit outdated. No free in room WiFi. Room was clean and comfortable.”

“The hotel previously was the Reno Hilton. Now that it has changed hands allot of nice remodeling has been done. We enjoyed the wine bar!”

  • I liked the decor, not a tacky casino.
  • Only complaint - would have liked a bath tub.

“Grand Sierra Resort is the nicest hotel in Reno. The casino area is unobtrusive. The common areas are rather elegant, as was our room. The room was decorated in muted brown/black/gray tones. The bed was extremely comfortable. Nice touches like a safe and good-quality toiletries.”

  • It was really clean.
  • It was depressing.

“The Grand Casino Resort was really nice. Our view was of some rock covered ceiling and a cement wall, but that sort of thing really doesn't matter much. And the staff was extremely helpful.”

  • I have to name just one thing. It was awesome. Love staying there.
  • Not much of a casino, needs more restaurants, restaurants were too expensive.

“Over all the hotel was great! We loved that we could go use the driving range without having to get into our truck. We went bowling in the hotel it was awesome. Our room was huge like a suite. We will definitely go back and stay there our next trip to Reno.”

  • Great buffets, great recreation.
  • Room was disappointing (toilet leaked, lamp did not work).

“Very nice hotel. Many things to do without needing to leave the premises. Tremendous array of restaurants food quality and service is excellent. Very good housekeeping staff. Helpful business center. On the downside, the room was not great - leaking toilet, and non-working table lamp.”

  • The size, cleanliness, safety were all terrible.

“Avoid at all costs unless one desires to stay in a mediocre, unsafe, dirty, firetrap.”

Cleanliness:[8] • Staff:[9] • Location:[8]

  • Broad range of excellent facilities including bowling alley, theatres, pool, restaurants.
  • Noise.

“An excellent hotel in every way except for one major flaw or problem. We had room on the southwest side of the property which faces the swimming pool and airport. There was no noise from the airport. From 10:00 pm to 2:00 am, the pool area turns in to the Nikki Beach Night Club with 36 high watt speakers pointed at the hotel blasting Hip Hop, Rap and Rock music at concert levels non-stop for four hours. Needless to say it is impossible, I repeat impossible, to try to sleep until after 2:00 am. For a one night stay where you spend about 8 hours in bed before traveling on the noise was intolerable. My main disappointment was that they did not tell us about this nightclub and the noise when we checked in as the hotel has many rooms. My wife and I have stayed here before in the quiet areas and the stay was fine.”

  • Location was good and the onsite port of subs was good.
  • Many rooms including mine were never upgraded from decades ago.

“There are great rooms at this hotel however they also have whole floors with old poor quality rooms that were never upgraded to the 3/4 star range.”
