• The location was fantastic and the quality was wonderful.
• The bathroom was incredibly small. As a 5'3" petite woman I felt crowded. My poor 6'3" companion.

“The hotel was very nice, clean, and luxurious in an incredible part of San Francisco. We had no trouble getting around the city by bus or cab and walking to the Ferry Building or Chinatown was a breeze.”

• Great location for getting around the city, helpful concierge, spacious rooms, large aesthetically pleasing lobby.
• Only got 2 double beds for my partner and myself. Room was near to noisy street. Rooms with views were not available. Awkward building's entrance.

“Overall, an excellent choice and one that I would stay at again. The street cars and ferry building are right outside. It's just a short walk to Union Square. We even walked to the baseball stadium in about 30 minutes. Would have liked to get a room with a view, or at least one with a queen or king beds. They only had double beds. Also we found the entrance to the building to be in an awkward driveway on an inconvenient side of the building. The concierge was very helpful. Heads up there are absolutely no restaurants open in the neighborhood after 10pm.”

• Location, parking options, room comfort, balcony, impressive architecture interior!
• Somewhat dark interior, main bistro under construction.

“Great location across from ferry building. And many shops near-by walking distance. Cable car stop, very comfortable room, awesome interior sculpture, water feature and architecture! Staff was quite helpful.”

• The location was close to public transportation.
• I really wanted to stay in fisherman's Wharf and although they have a hotel there.

“The city was not overcrowded. I would recommend this for a weekend stay. Park at the Embarcadero lot next door and save $30.”

• One of the ladies at the front desk was curt.

“Lovely hotel inside and out. Quite and serene, but loved the outside music, trolley noise and activities that could be heard from my room on the Plaza side of the hotel. Looking forward to my next stay.”

• Our room was a long way from the elevator!

“They were remodeling the restaurant so it was not available. The room was comfortable but unfortunately we asked for a view and it is a long way from the elevator! The parking is $57. A night which seems high. Otherwise the location of the hotel is great!”

• I cannot say enough good things about the staff at this hotel; everyone was very friendly and helpful.
• The in-room refrigerator with computerized billing of it's contents was a little over the top.

“We stayed at the Hyatt Regency for two nights in early September. The room was very attractive, with a view of the Ferry Building and the Bay. Every staff member, from the front desk to the maintenance person, was extremely helpful, friendly, and well trained. The concierge services were top-notch, with staff that could immediately gauge a guests interests and needs.”

• Perfect location. Serene atmosphere. Excellent hotel service by housekeeping and valet. Beautiful hotel.
• My first encounter with the lady at the front desk. She was caustic.

“I have stayed at this hotel 3 times now. Planning two trips to SF next month and would love to stay here again. I love the atrium, piano music, sculpture, water, elevators, flower plantings, view, convenience to public transportation and the activity on the Plaza. I can hardly wait to stay here again!”

• Hotel needed new carpeting and wallpaper.

“The overall experience at the hotel was very nice. Staff was helpful, convenient location, nice bed, linens, etc. This hotel was nice when it was built, probably in the mid eighties. The carpeting and bathroom wallpaper, like dome other Hyatt's we've stars at, were in need of some refurbishing. Overall would rate 3.5 stars if available.”

• Breakfast buffet was not good, very disappointed!

“The Hyatt at the Embarcadero is a beautiful hotel. We could have not been happier with the stay there. With one exception: we had breakfast in the hotel and the buffet was pricey and absolutely not good. I could not eat the French toast. Skip the breakfast, go somewhere else. Otherwise, magnificent stay!”

• Location (across from the ferry building), wonderful bed, wonderful view of the bay bridge and the ferry building, conveniently located near all trans.
• Slightly outdated, parking is expensive, but if you have no car, it is not a problem.

“Conveniently located across from the ferry building, the Hyatt Regency is spectacular. Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure, this was one of the most enjoyable trips I have taken thus far. Aside from being across one of the best foodie establishments known to man, you are within walking distance to most all public transportation options should you need it. Taxis are extremely easy to hale, and having San Francisco as your backdrop certainly does not hurt. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Enjoy!”

• It's a great hotel as far as location, comfort and professional staff. They went out of their way to make it a great stay.
• The back doors (closest to the Embarcadero) were exit only, which meant that you had to walk all the way around to the main front entrance.

• Room was very clean and comfortable.
• Except for the room, which was excellent, the hotel is like being inside a spooky pyramid. Balcony covered with pigeon feathers.

“Rooms are nice but the atrium is spooky, and the staff is friendly but totally phony. I always felt like they were looking for a tip. I wouldn't stay here again if I had a choice.”
