“Our cab pulled up and Steve from the hotel took our bags and sent us down to the corner to see the sunset over the Golden Gate Bridge. Apparently this nice of a sunset almost never happens due to the fog and he wanted us to see it. What a way to start our first visit to SF! We utilized the concierge endlessly for restaurants, rental cars, etc. We loved the wine hour.”

“Pleasant front desk. Clean, interesting rooms with a nautical flair. Family friendly, but also good for business travelers. Over-looking the Bay and Alcatraz and within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. Very good value.”

“Overall a great hotel, great amenities, super helpful staff, clean. One gripe (besides the oh-my-god anchors everywhere decor): no extra outlets in the room for plugging in chargers, laptops, etc. All the extra outlets were in the bathroom. Other than that minor inconvenience, it was excellent!”

“We loved the location, right on the Wharf. The hotel was nautical in theme, but not kitschy. It was elegant, and the staff was great, the lobby was beautiful and at 5pm the staff hosted a great wine tasting, so many travelers gathered around the gigantic fireplace. We met a couple from Britain who joined us for dinner later. The parking /entry was a mess, there is no safe or easy way to unload, we had to stop in the middle of the street after a few passes around the block. Otherwise we would definitely stay there again!”

“Great location, great staff. This was a business/pleasure trip with my wife. The room had a tiny desk and no table. Working in the room was a task. Even so, the great service and location makes it a nice place to stay as long as your not spending to much time in the room.”

“Excellent hotel in prime position in Fisherman's Wharf. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are nicely decorated in a nautical theme. Free wine and beer in the lobby between 5 - 6 pm. Ridiculously expensive valet parking, 40 bucks to drive the car round the corner for one night.”

“The room was advertised as having a great view over the bay. Our view was a brick wall. The pictures looked very roomy however there wasn't even room for our luggage (4 carryon pieces). We had to stack the luggage as not to trip over it getting in/out of the room. Perhaps they stuck us in a small room because we booked thru pl (?) The hotel was not full. There was a problem at check out because of pl/hotel error. This delayed our departure 15 minutes. We had to tip the taxi extra for the wait. Fortunately, the billing problem was resolved by the time we returned home. I may use pl again, but not when traveling with kids. The location was excellent and we truly enjoyed most of our meals at the restaurant (6 meals). The chowder was fab.”

“Perfect location. Next to fishermans wharf and the park where the streetcars "sleep". In house restaurant was already closed at 9:10 pm, but walked 2 blocks for great crab legs, then grab an Irish coffee on the way back, but limit to 2 or you'll pay the price (like I did) the next am.”

“This is a very nice and clean hotel. Staff was very friendly. We opened the curtain to find a wall, which is okay since the place seemed great. However, they charged for everything! The paper, charged. Ride to/from airport? Charged. Use their computer to get boarding pass? Sure for a charge! Print it? Sure, for a price.”

“This was a great hotel. Great location and all around loved it. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The only complaint I have is that they did not have a king size bed for us and so we had a queen size that seemed a little worn down. Could use an update on this bed in room. Because the room was so skinny they have to put the TV off to an angle and that was terrible. Need to invest on putting a flat screen on the wall in front of the bed. It was hard to watch TV or movies at the angle. One more complaint. We could never get the internet to work on our computer in our room. Then the downstairs ones they have for you didn't work either. Little frustrating. But overall this was a good experience. Loved it.”

“The room was single room; we had the smallest bed ever, they just provided us with extra blankets to sleep on the floor, nobody cared, very arrogant receptionist. We didn't expect the best room in the hotel, but this tiny room was unacceptable.”

“This hotel had all you would want in San Francisco -- excellent location to the wharf, cleanliness, attractive cutely decorated rooms, very helpful staff, a nightly wine reception in the lobby for everyone to gather and meet others staying there.”
