Woeste Kop Golf

  • Nice quite place that is close to the Belgium border and very near many interesting places.
  • There is no train station there.

“My son and his family lived in Axel for a year 2004-05. They leased a home on the Hulsterweg (hope that's correct) My wife and I visited them and totally enjoyed our stay. Their neighbors were very good folks and welcomed them. I could look out the front of the home across the small canal and see wide open spaces across plowed fields with wild March hares fighting everywhere and pheasants flying around. My two small granddaughters loved to visit the Hernandez House restaurant and its play room (I think this is going towards Hulst). They also enjoyed the animal farms and the many historic places nearby. Axel is a nice quite place to relax and is a great base from which to launch visits to Belgium and the southern areas of The Netherlands. The landing for the ferry from Vlissingen to England is a short drive away. I also enjoyed market day in the town center and dining at the oriental restaurant there (sorry I don't remember the name). There are also banking facilities in the town center. I would definitely keep Axel in mind if looking for a nice quite place to stay while visiting this area. Remember, REAL people live here, not the ones after the tourist trade.”

Agnietenkapel (Universiteitsmuseum)

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Scenery.
  • Restricted accessibility due to frequent academic usage.

“This chapel is a recently renovated historical building, in use by the university for ceremonies such as graduations, conferences and promotions. It affords the visitor a very interesting view on Dutch church and academic history. During the recent architectural renovation the scenery of the beginnings has been lovingly restored, emphasizing the interaction between burgher, state and city, or conviction, religion and science, while accommodating the academic ceremonies of today. Do not forget to climb the staircase to the attic where students once were reading the books-on-chains.”

Holland Casino Amsterdam
Jul 15, 2006 by Daniel from Cheshire

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Thousands of video slot machines capable of paying out millions.
  • Leaving.

“Holland casino offers a huge range of games with a variety to suit all gamers. The Holland Casino located in Amsterdam has 3 floors, 2 of which are full of the best video slot machines available. Service at the casino is both prompt and professional (unlike the service you will receive from casinos in the UK). If you are planning to trip Amsterdam a visit to the Holland Casino is a must ! Other great Holland Casinos are located all over the Netherlands.”

Rent-a-bike
Jul 10, 2006 by Harry from San Diego

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4

  • Close to the Dam square.
  • Crappy bikes.

“This place was so-so. Cheap bikes with a huge sign 'I am a tourist on them'. Almost all places have that. When my bike broke down I went to an other place. With cool authentic Dutch bikes. Close to the Risk museum, so really central. The place is called Het Zwarte Fietsenplan. I think it means black bicycle. Anyway, there I found super bikes for good value. She's a keeper!”
